Piran's Cottage Central location close to the scenic Mevagissey harbour

This is a comfortable open plan grade 2 listed cottage located on the first and second floor. It is ideally located on a central quiet street, and is just a few minutes walk to the picturesque Mevagissey Harbour where there are restaurants, shops, and pubs to enjoy. There are many things to experience in this area such as visits to Charlestown where much of the Poldark TV series was filmed, Fowey by way of the Mevagissey Ferry from the harbour, and Heligan Gardens. Pentewan, Portmellon, Caerhays , all have nice beaches which are easily accessible. For more information about Mevagissey, you can look at this website www.mevagisseyharbour.co.uk

Accommodation includes:
Three bedrooms with two king beds and a single bed. All beds are standard length with hotel quality bedding. All rooms have built in wardrobes, side tables, and a chest of drawers in two rooms, and touch lamps. All of the cottage has LED lighting.
Well equipped kitchen with electric hob, oven, washer/dryer, full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and plenty of utensils. Dining room seats six adults. Living room with two leather sofas, 55-inch Smart TV, DVD/Blue-Ray, free Wi -Fi, books, DVDs, and games. Large bathroom with roomy shower and two heated towel racks. Small WC upstairs near the bedrooms which has a toilet and sink. Electric heating in each room. Travel cot(no bedding included), high chair, iron, ironing board, and hair dryer included in the cottage. USB ports located throughout the cottage.

One complimentary pre paid parking permit at Willow car park is included for your stay in the cottage. This car park is about a 4 minute level walk from the cottage. You can drive up Chapel Street to unload at the cottage, and then make a short trip back to Willow Car park. Sorry, no pets allowed. Also no smoking. All bedding and bath towels are included, and professionally laundered. Sorry, no beach towels. Suitable for up to 5 people and families, not large parties. Please note: OUR CHECK IN AND CHECKOUT/ CHANGEOVER DAY IS FRIDAY. The last two weeks of July and August have a 7 day minimum stay. It is a 4 night or 3 night minimum stay for the remaining months of the year with the same check in and check out day, Friday. Bright and Airy Immaculate Cottage

This property is so lovely, immaculately clean, comfortable, stylish and ideally located. Plenty of space, it has been very well thought out and designed. Beds are super comfy with luxury linen. We parked up outside to unload and load, directions were clear. Really isn't anything I can say bad about the place. It was lovely and i would definitely stay there again. Thankyou

Mevagissey

The property is superbly equipped, with nice practical touches such as the salt & pepper, washing up liquid and cleaning products provided. The bed were very comfortable and the house ultra clean. We found the location of the cottage ideal, in the center of the village, within walking distance of a bakery and lovely fruits & vegetables shop. This meant that we were able to walk the coastal path, take the ferry to Fowey without needing to drive. Mevagissey itself is an adorable village centered around fishing, far from the more touristy locations. We loved it.

Could not have been better

The location is excellent, with convenient nearby parking. The cottage offers all the necessities and is excellent. It's a fantastic choice for a stay in Mevagissey.

Super clean, home from home property

Matched exactly description given of property and contents. Was a pleasure to stay at this property so comfortable, clean and with everything you would need provided. All shops, harbour and facilities on the doorstep. Lovely crafts displayed for sale in nearby church hall where a small cafe also serves very tasty and very reasonably priced meals, pastries, cakes and beverages all day on Wed, Thurs and Fri during holiday season.

Great place to stay

Great weekend in Mevagissey at Pirans Cottage. The cottage was lovely, very well presented, extremely clean and close to everything. We parked at Willow car park which was an easy walk to the property therefore we didnt have to negotiate the narrow streets of Mevagissey in the car. Once there we had everything we needed and more. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Another wonderful break.

Being our second stay in Piran’s Cottage there is a chance that we could be guilty of taking things for granted. We may forget to mention the fluffy white towels and the expensive cotton bed linen (a la Savoy). We may also overlook the up-to-date modern furniture, decoration and all the modern appliances available at hand. So now having not omitted them from this review, we can move on to other advantages of staying in Piran’s Cottage. The location is basically as central to Mevagissey as you can get without, getting your feet wet. Bars, Restaurants, Cafes, Take-aways and shops (including Boots Pharmacy) are all within a few minutes walk through a beautiful Cornish harbour setting. I noticed on this visit, there is even a Health Centre close by; thankfully not required by us. The first week of our stay happened to coincide with “The Mevagissey Feast”, a week of open air concerts in the Harbour, parades complete with brass bands marching through the streets. All the events were carefully timed and efficiently marshalled by local people, consequently we were not inconvenienced in any way whatsoever. All-in-all, another wonderful break in Piran’s Cottage, Mevagissey. Thanks Carol.

Great location!

We had a wonderful stay at the beginning of August 2022. The property was extremely clean and well-appointed with everything there that you could need (including some kitchen utensils that we didn't know what they were for! 😆). The fixtures and fittings were all of a high standard and as such the cottage was very comfortable. The owners have really stocked the cottage well - there was plenty of everything, by which I mean things like crockery and cutlery were not in short supply like in some cottages we have stayed. Also, I've never seen so many sturdy wooden clothes hangers supplied in a rental - I loved it and it made such a change from trying to hang many items of clothing on one flimsy hanger! 👍 The location was brilliant with it being in the heart of Mev - so many great pubs, restaurants and independent shops....you will certainly be spoilt for choice. We particularly loved the Harbour restaurant and The Ship Inn. We found the parking arrangement worked really well too -really friendly and helpful car park attendants. This was our first visit to this part of Cornwall but I can safely say that we'll be back and would most certainly look to stay here again. We were blessed with a heatwave and so visited many of the gorgeous beaches along the south and north coasts but there is so much to do locally in any weather that we felt like we didn't even scratch the surface! Overall a wonderful cottage - thank you for a fabulous stay!

Lovely cottage in a great location

We had a lovely time, the cottage is modern and very central to the harbour, we happened to be their during Feast week which was great with a number of groups and bands, a carnival and fireworks. Minor downside is the single bathroom which can be a challenge when there are 4/5 people in the cottage

Superb, quality property

A two storey apartment, full of highest quality furniture, linens, and accessories. The best equipped kitchen we have ever experienced in rental properties, thee was even a properly sharp chef’s knife (being a keen cook, I always take my own as I don’t expect to find good, sharp knives). There were 12 of everything in the kitchen cupboards! Everything is supplied. An excellent property.

Fabulous property

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Prian’s Cottage. The accommodation is immaculate and bigger than it appears on the pictures. The location was fantastic with only a short walk to the Harbour. The beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked and a great welcome pack of coffee, tea and biscuits. This is by far the best property we have stayed in, in Cornwall. The parking permit was great. Yes it was a short walk to the car park but we’d rather have been there than navigating the narrow lanes in Mevagissey. We loved it and would definitely recommend it.

A gem

This is an excellent property, in a great location in the centre of Mevagissey. It has a modern interior, with lovely touches (beautiful paintings), fully equipped, very comfortable and scrupulously clean. The extra touch of the welcome pack was much appreciated. The property is on two floors , accessed by quite steep stairs but we are in our 70’s and they didn’t cause a problem. There is also a step from the kitchen to the living area but after one trip you soon get used to it being there! There is no parking on site but a free pass is provided at a car park a few minutes walk away. You are able to unload your vehicle at the property though. We would thoroughly recommend this property

A Week in Mevagissey 2021

We staid in Mevagissey this year from 3rd to 10th September and it was a wonderful time. The town is very quaint with narrow streets and plenty of hills. The 2 harbours, 1 mostly fishing and the other more pleasure boats, both were always very interesting with plenty going on. All the locals whether in shops, restaurants or just living there were very friendly and helpful. Other area of interest are easy to get to. we went to Fowey, Newquay and The Eden Project. We will come again as there was more to do than we had time to cover them.

Absolutely fantastic property

We have just returned from a wonderful stay in Pirans Cottage. The pictures don't do the accommodation justice, I was very pleasantly surprised when I walked in and saw how nice and even more importantly how clean it was. Another plus was how well stocked the kitchen was with utensils and pots and pans etc. The main bedrooms had electronic blinds on the veluxes that were blackout so made bedtime very cosy and dark. The property is right on the doorstep of all the pubs, restaurants and harbour of Megavissey so you are only a few minutes from anything. The One thing that could be added for summer months is perhaps a couple of electric fans as the bedrooms were warm but other than that the whole experience was amazing and added to the enjoyment of our break. Thank you xx

Great flat in fabulous location

Great flat, spotlessly clean, has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Location was fab, easy access to the harbour and shops. The parking was an added bonus, I was worried it would be full due to being August but we always managed to get a space as we came and went. Only issue was we only had one set of keys for the week which made it a bit tricky for us with different groups coming and going. The check in times (9am and 5pm) are very early/late as well but hopefully these will be reviewed for 2022. Would definitely recommend this property for anyone wanting an easy week in a beautiful part of Cornwall.

A good week in Mevagissy

Perfect location. Parking worked well and we could walk everywhere in Mevagissy quickly. All very clean. Well equipped although a few more mugs would be nice. 2nd bedroom rather small and we needed the 3rd bedroom for our stuff. Not suitable for anyone with mobility as 2 sets of steep stairs.

Beautiful

Cottage was absolutely incredible the photos don't do it justice. Right in the heart of Mevagissey with the benefit of an outside seating area which most don't have. The property has been finished to a really high standard and everything seems brand new. Everything you could possibly need for a week is there. We also had complimentary tea coffee and biscuits and a small milk in the fridge which was a nice touch. Contacted via the app on our first evening to check everything was OK. Absolutely loved everything about the cottage and Mevagissey.
