Historic Cotswold stone cottage. Grade II listed, thought to have been built around 1600. This cosy cottage, located in a village in its own hidden valley, is a perfect hideaway. Lots of walks, a fantastic country pub (that serves great food) 2 minutes' walk away. But the centres of Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on the-Water just 3 miles away. Naunton Downs golf course 5 minutes' drive away allows day guest membership. Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm park - great for kids, 10 minutes' drive away. Original beams, working wood log fireplace (and central heating!), windows, even an original floor provides a unique atmosphere. The beds are normally arranged as a super king and two singles, IF YOU NEED A DIFFERENT ARRANGEMENT WE NEED A WEEK'S NOTICE.

Very nice little place and a great village. We loved walking around the area and eating at the pub nearby. Easy check in and check out for this fun old cottage.
Just a storybook area to visit . The host left us many clear instructions and tips to familiarize ourselves to make our visit even more perfect. Fully equipped cottage with a warm and authentic snug.
Very enjoyable stay- the cottage is lovely, well equipped. There’s a great pub a couple of minutes down the road for dinner

Relaxing break
The property was lovely with lots of little extras, which made us feel welcome. Practical layout for four adults, although another higher armchair instead of the little chair would have been great. The garden was delightful and added to our stay. Better directions to find the property, which was set back, would have saved us 30 mins after a long drive.
The property was spotless on arrival, well equipped and full of nice surprises. The local pub is no more than five minutes away and serves excellent food. Overall a most enjoyable stay.
A great place to stay in a very friendly village.
The local pub the Black horse serves beautiful food and we highly recommend it.
The cottage itself offered everything we needed and was Clean, warm and well appointed,. We would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area. We would certainly return again in the future.
Truly get the feeling of whats its like living in a small cotwolds village. Very comfortable! Mark, you do need a new can opener. Thanks for a wonderful experience
It was a little difficult to find the home and the parking on the street can be challenging There were 3 of us with associated luggage We were in Europe for 2 months so did have large bags The home was very well appointed The kitchen area was very nice basic cooking oil/spices etc There is no grocer in town so make sure you bring food The pub was about 1/2 block away and had good food and a nice outside area This was a good home base to tour the Cotswolds I especially recommend a tour of Sudeley Castle the last home and burial site of Queen Catherine Parr The stairs are very step and curved but our granddaughter had no issues climbing to the 3rd floor I would definitely recommend this home
We spent a month in Naunton which is a lovely small village with a very friendly, handy pub just along from the cottage, and perfect for anyone wanting to be off the beaten track - less than 15 minute drive to either Stow or Bourton. The cottage was quite comfortable although we would have appreciated a maintenance check beforehand as we did encounter a few issues, and, for such a long stay, we would have expected some spare linens or housekeeping coming to change sheets. The garden is quite separate from the house and there is no off-street parking.
The unit has old time charm. The living room has low ceilings giving a very snug feel and provided enough seating for the four of us. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the necessary plates, pots, coffee maker, etc. We appreciated the use of the clothes washers. Both bedrooms had adequate space and comfortable beds. The top floor bathroom was a bit tight, but was functional. The kitchen and both bedrooms require walking up steps, not a problem for us but the bedroom stairs are a bit steep.
It was very quiet, with friendly neighbors. The garden area was a nice place to sit and relax.
The village is picturesque and quiet. We enjoyed the ability to walk down to the local pub for a pint or a meal (about 3 minute walk).
Overall, we found the unit to meet all of our needs with everything in good working order.
Our trip to Naunton was originally planned for a year ago, but due to COVID had to be delayed. Mark was super helpful and responsive in switching dates, and with everything else related to our stay. And we're so glad we were eventually able to stay in this adorable, cozy, characterful home! We took long walks during the day, and loved sitting in front of the fire on our return. The village of Naunton is a gem, and the local pub had great food and friendly service. We had such a lovely stay and would recommend Mark's home to anyone looking for a comfortable escape to a beautiful area!
Comfortable and cosy cottage. Located in a valley close to a pub serving excellent Sunday lunch.
5 minutes drive to Naunton Golf Club and close to lovely towns and villages.
Ideal for 2 couples with 2 bathrooms.
Beautiful location, helpful and good communication from agent and owner. Overall very happy with our stay but we found cleanliness of certain areas ( kitchen, bathrooms and dining table) to need cleaning properly, which we did ourselves. Previous occupants had left, what looked like tomatos/tomato sauce splashed up the dining area walls and kitchen surfaces. Plates, pans and cutlery all needed cleaning. The sinks and toilet needed bleaching to remove scummy areas.
Thankfully there was cleaning products in the cupboard for us to use.
But we still had a pleasant stay, thank you.
Lovely cottage with good size bedrooms. The information book was very informative and gave a good summary of the surrounding area.

Week's holiday
The location was perfect and the cottage felt very cosy and inviting. We enjoyed taking our time in the cottage first thing and after spending a busy day exploring we would spend our evenings relaxing after lighting the log burner.
Lovely cottage loved the log burner the village is beautiful, enjoyed a couple of meals at the local pub ! They even leant us a pint glass....... which surprisingly was not in the cottage ......
But that would not stop us returning, and hopefully a return visit next year !
Cottage was as expected from the description, we were not disappointed. It would be ideal if chinaware could be made up to sets of 8 to make more efficient use of the dishwasher.
Overall a good property, nice location with a lovely pub within 2 mins walk and great country walks. Communication with agent/owner was great. Disappointed about super late check in at 6 pm and early checkout by 9 am. Understandable in covid times they need to deep clean the house but then they should not be so greedy and accept bookings on the day somebody else is checking out. With a 7 month baby with us it was tough having to wait till 6 pm to check in and then check out by 9 am upon departure. I think owners should be more conscious of that and less greedy, why accept bookings one after the other when you need to deep clean the house? Disappointing to say the least.
An unique experience of the quintessential English village life staying in this quaint little cottage made of Cotswold stone dating back to 1600...
3 Sunny Cottage is one among a cluster of stone cottages, located in Naunton village of Cotswolds, on the bank of river Windrush. Spread over 3 floors, it is a cosy and comfortable accommodation for a group of up to 4 people. The garden is well maintained with a barbecue grill which particularly caught our fancy and we had an amazing barbecue party during our stay here this summer.
There is a village pub within 2 mins walk, which serves very good food.
A very cosy haven for a long weekend get away or long stay.
We look forward to going there again.
Lovely quaint little cottage, great location, people very friendly in the village.
Only one very small criticism, if you are trying to cook a roast dinner eg:- Christmas lunch, there was only one small roasting tin, not really big enough for the turkey and all the trimmings. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back in the near future.

About the host
Hosted by Mark Fox
When my kids were small we got fed up of low quality self catering that seemed to cost the earth. So we bought our own place in 2000 and have been expanding ever since - a lot of our guests visit again and again. We still regularly stay in all our places to be sure that they are good enough for us to enjoy, not just rentals.
Why they chose this property
This cottage is a cliche of an English country cottage. Everything about it is exactly what you would expect starting with the atmosphere of the big fireplace and deep windows. But it is also the lovely garden and gorgeous views that make it special... not to mention the great pub just a couple of minutes' walk away!
What makes this property unique
Many small cottages have a "cottage garden" - small. This one has a huge garden for kids to play in, or enjoy the terrace for meals (outdoor table and chairs provided) and use the brick Barb-B-Q with a proper chimney. All the beams and the stone ground floor is original from 1600. This cottage hasn't been over-restored, All modern conveniences have been built into what is there, nothing original has been ripped out.
