About this property

The single storey 'Stable' has been beautifully restored and equipped to a very high standard with the emphasis on making your stay as comfortable as possible. It has two double bedrooms each with a double bed (both with en-suite). An open-plan design links the kitchenette, dining and lounge areas. The property stands within the one acre grounds of the owners' Grade 2 listed cottage and the outlook from all aspects is onto the garden which is also yours to share (and enjoy the peace and tranquillity) while you are here. Garden furniture is supplied, during summer months. Bed linen and towels are supplied and electricity/water and free high speed wifi are included in the cost. Unfortunately, The Stable is unsuitable for either very young children (5 years old and younger) or pets.
There are two designated parking places for The Stable, off road, just outside our gate. Please note that our "Changeover" day during the Peak Period (June to September incl.) is a Saturday . Outside of the Peak Period, "Changeover" is negotiable.

Lovely

We had a lovely time on our stay in this cosy and beautifully clean property all was as described, and the milk, tea and cookies were a lovely touch. The booking in process was really easy and Paul was a good host. The garden is nicely kept and a paradise if you like birdwatching and the beautiful local surrounding area makes this a wonderful place to stay. We would definately recommend

Tranquil stay in Dorset.

A lovely property and hosts. Excellent accommodation and beautiful garden. Great for visiting Arne, Brownsea Island, Swanage, Wareham and Dorchester. Can't recommend it enough!

Lovely cottage in great location

Very easy booking and checking in process. Cottage very cosy. Lovely garden. Lots to do nearby but location itself very quiet which was lovely. Will definitely go back if we visit Dorset again.

Lovely Property

This is our second stay. We loved the location, very convenient for many places. We visited Lulworth Cove, Bournemouth, Poole, Weymouth, Shaftesbury and Bridport. The accommodation is the perfect place for a week’s getaway.

Lovely peacfull spot by nature reserve.

Cofortable accomodation. Well equiped kitchen. Very friendly and helpful owners. Walk out of the garden staight onto the heathland nature reserve (dartford warblers) Even heard nightjars from the garden.

A real "home from home"

The Stables is in a lovely setting and the accommodation is excellent with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The host is very helpful and friendly. The area nearby is excellent for walking and this part of Dorset is really nice. Highly recommended.

Spot on!

The hosts were friendly, available and helpful with lots of tips on places to visit. The Stables were clean, well equipped and comfortable. We had walks on our doorstep and plenty of interesting places to visit including the world’s only scanners which is a site to behold. We would definitely book again if in the area. Family holiday stay

We really enjoyed our stay, the accommodation was really well equipped and homely, well kept and with great, welcoming hosts. The Stables was central to all of Dorsets amazing beaches and scenery and for us it made a great holiday. We would definitely recommend and return!

Dorset break

Lovely holiday.

The accommodation was excellent. Well furnished and comfortable. Ideally located in a good position close to Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove and central to the numerous other places of interest. The owner, Paul, was friendly and helpful.

our second visit

We stayed for a week last year and decided that two weeks would provide an opportunity to really explore the surrounding countryside and nearby coast. We returned to this property as it is ideal for this in addition to having itself a lovely garden and environment. The host lives nearby and is extremely helpful and approachable. I cannot recommend too highly this property if you are looking for a nice retreat away from the city. The property has everything you would need. Wool is just down the road and has a large Spa convenience shop and there are numerous pubs/restaurants around. The host will update you as to the " better ones " .

Great place to stay for up to 4 people. Lovely ensuite bedrooms, good sitting room with a great telly. Great WiFi, good kitchen. With some lovely local walks. Very near to some excellent historic countryside.

An especially convenient holiday accommodation for us as it’s all on the same level and my husband and I are in our eighties, well stocked kitchen and all sparkling clean. We’re just sorry our stay was not longer.

Holiday get-away

The property is very attractive - comfortable and nicely arranged. The area is peaceful with an interesting nature reserve with lovely views an enjoyable short walk away. The garden area around the cottage is delightful - lovely spot to relax - read, chat, food and drink if weather allows. It’s a central location for places and areas of interest.

Dorset summer holiday

The stables was a lovely place to stay, the hosts where very welcoming and amiable. We had complementary tea milk and some biscuits when we arrived which was very appreciated. The stables had everything you would need during your stay with two double bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms which was great for the two teenagers. The location was lovely and extremely quiet and an ideal base to travel to all the main attractions and towns in Dorset. All in all a wonderful place to stay and highly recommended.

Perfect getaway

We had the best stay at the Stable. Paul was a fantastic host and made us feel at home. It was in the perfect location with so many places to visit close by. We had a lovely private garden area to sit in too which was lovely. The Stable was a nice size with a homely feel. We would definitely come and stay here again.

A ‘Stable’ staycation like no other.

We received a warm and friendly welcome from Paul and nothing was too much trouble for him( a gift of fresh milk and delicious biscuits were much appreciated) .As keen gardeners ourselves ,we were treated to a tour of the Knoll’s beautiful garden ….. which we were invited to use at our leisure. The ‘Stables’ provided everything we could wish for as all the comforts of home were provided.Secure parking was a bonus. Perfect for two couples- two en-suite bedrooms at opposite ends of the building were separated by the dining- kitchen and living areas. Perfect for lovely walks locally and all major attractions are easily accessible by car. Perfect hosts, perfect location………”we shall return “ Lesley and Ian Hurt - Sheffield.

A fabulous stay!

This is an outstanding place for a holiday in Dorset close to some lovely beaches and places to visit. Paul is an excellent host, checking everything was ok for us and so helpful with advice on places to visit. The Stable is one of the cleanest properties we have stayed in as well as having everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The garden is just wonderful to relax in and enjoy the peace and quiet of the surrounding countryside. We would definitely recommend this property and wouldn’t look anywhere else to stay when we visit Dorset again! Thank you Paul for a wonderful week!
