Casa Roberta is a beautiful, recently restored, traditional farmhouse in a private setting on the south facing slope of a peaceful valley, sitting among its own olive grove, copse and vineyard. Unfortunately, photographs cannot truly convey the atmosphere of the house and environs and do not do justice to the spectacular views of the Sibillini mountains or the stunning evening skies! (If you don't believe us - see the recurring comment in our guests' reviews!)
There is plenty of space for leisurely meals for 10 people on the covered terrace or in the shade of an adjacent overhanging tree. Wide steps lead down to the large sun terrace by the 12m x 6m pool with level lawn and another shade tree beyond. From the terrace, you can watch over the children in the pool. The olive grove and vineyard nestle below the house, waiting to be explored, and a vine-covered sitting out area beckons come Aperitivo time!
Above all, Casa Roberta is spacious and light - benefits that are often lacking in older buildings. Principal internal features include a very spacious ground floor with 2 lounge areas and a separate dining room, plus large practical kitchen and a WC. On the first floor you find two large master bedrooms with equally large ensuite bathrooms (bath, walk in shower, basin, wc and bidet) plus a twin room also with its own ensuite shower room. On the top floor, two generous king-size rooms - separated by a library landing for privacy - share a shower room. With all the ground floor entertaining rooms and outdoor areas, there is comfortably space for 10-12 without feeling crowded - everyone can find their own space. A full size Table Football inside gives authentic Italian entertainment! Plus a DVD player and library.
This 200+ year old former farmhouse enjoys a perfect, serene location - disturbed only by birdsong and the occasional tinkling of goat bells. Yet, stunning medieval hilltop villages, world-class restaurants and vineyards, roman ruins and a local town with all amenities and fantastic boutiques are all only a 15 minute drive away - not forgetting the magnificent basilica in Tolentino. Day trip destinations include the Unesco-listed city of Urbino, the hidden gem that is Ascoli Piceno, the stunning Basilica of Loreto (site of the Virgin Mary's relocated home), Assisi, Gubbio, Maranello (the home of Ferrari), beautiful Spoleto and even Orvieto (for those who don't mind a long day). If you want to dip your toes in the Italian beach experience, there are plenty of Adriatic beaches, with seafood restaurants, less than 1 hour away. We could go on... but you get the idea!
Oh - and did we mention the views??
