About this property

Luxury Highland Retreat

Tulach Ard House sits within forty acres of private farmland, woodland and foreshore. It is a luxury secluded residence, a place to unwind and get away from stresses of life. With beautiful traditional farm buildings on the farm and the best of Highland wildlife surrounding the house.
The 18th Century listed country house has been beautifully restored creating a unique Highland home. Each bedroom offers a different aspect and connection to the surrounding landscape, with views to ancient woodland, misty Skye munros and the private foreshore in front of the house. From bespoke Scottish furniture to contemporary natural wool carpets and fabrics from ANTA, the luxury and character is embedded in the natural materials and interiors that have been inspired by the colours that surround the house.
There are four king size double bedrooms, two of which are ensuite and one large family bathroom. On the top floor there are two twin rooms with an adjoining shared bathroom. There is a separate annexe with a further twin bedroom and king size bedroom and two bathrooms.
The house is large enough for all guests to feel like they can get away from the outside world. The main living space is a large space with comfortable sofas opposite a large banqueting dining table. There is a TV/cinema room and separate office. There is a family farmhouse kitchen with all the kitchen essentials and an electric AGA. In the annexe there is a fully equipped industrial kitchen with gas hob and oven and further fridges and freezers.
The formal garden surrounds the front of the house and as well as formal flower beds there is large lawn area for garden games.
The house manager lives on the farm and is available should you need anything during your stay. Catering and welcome food packs are available on request.

My all-time favorite VRBO

Tulach Ard house is everything I hoped it would be and more. The house and the property were perfect for our summer vacation. Plenty of room indoors and out for children to play, quiet places to read, large tables in both the kitchen and dining area to gather, a lovely warm wood-burning fireplace to enjoy in the evenings, interior design is immaculate. And the view!! It’s just breathtaking day after day. Stella was so easy to get in touch with. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. My next order of business is figuring out when to book our next stay here.

Heaven on Earth

I knew when I saw this listing that it would be absolutely perfect for my women's self-care retreat. I almost hesitated writing this because I was afraid it will be forever booked. :0) It is a beautiful secret place where my heart lives. This place is magical. I can't think of anything that could be done to make it more perfect. I look forward to hosting at least 2 retreats here a year. Thank you, Stella, and your amazing husband for your kindness and for sharing your family home & history with us. We will be back!!

Great holiday home for large groups

We rented this house for a family reunion. Our group consisted of 11 people ages 7 to 84 (kids, parents and grandparents). We had a fantastic holiday, cooking together most nights on the Aga or BBQ and sightseeing during the day. It was easy to get to Skye, and also to explore up and down the coast, with lots of good restaurants and pubs nearby. Everyone was very comfortable in the house, able to find their own space when needed, and the shared living space was beautiful, looking out over the loch. The kids enjoyed rock pooling by the house. Stella was extremely helpful, including putting us in touch with a local fisherman to buy seafood. This is clearly a much-loved family home and we felt lucky to stay there.

I'll definitely be back!

What a fantasic house. We all absolutely loved it! The owners were so lovely and welcoming and could not do enough for us. My partner and I decided to stay here to get married with our immediate families as our only guests. We got married out the back looking on to the Loch and it was simply spectacular. Stella cooked our meal for us and it was absolutely delicious. I wouldn't change a single thing. Thank you so much for everything!

Idyllic Highland Retreat

Stunning location on the edge of the loch, with views to Skye in the distance. Stylish, comfortable and well appointed. Good walks out of the door. Otters and babies at the end of the beach; curlews overhead. Easy drive to Skye, with an more superb walks, boat trips, and fishing.

Country idyll for a large family

A fabulous property for large groups, on a rocky sea shore that had otters, seals and sea eagles on view, warm and well appointed for a two week stay. Highly recommended for a base for families to explore Skye and beyond. - thank you Stella!
