About this property

Caravan-Private Bathroom

The static Lodge can sleep upto 4 people in one large double room and one twin room. It has a separate bathroom. kitchen for self catering and living room with dining space. Out side there is a large decking area that is ideal for sitting and enjoying the nicer weather.
The Eighteenth Century Punchbowl Inn is a well-furnished establishment, which in past times was a farm and orchard. The beams at the Punchbowl have splits in which coins are once forced 'for luck'. Local tradition states that a wish will be granted for each of the coins so treated?

We are a Restaurant, Pub and Bed & Breakfast located in the picture postcard village of Askham. We offer Twin and Double Rooms all En-suite and would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to escape the mundane pressures and stress of everyday life and enjoy a wonderful break with us in this picturesque region.

Dominated by its spacious and traditional bar with open fires and original timber ceiling we offer fresh, local, home-cooked food coupled with a fine selection of real ales, wines, spirits and whiskys. A large portion of our menu caters for Gluten Free, Dairy Free and Vegetarians, which is served alongside our constantly changing specials board offering a more upmarket gourmet option. We also serve a delicious Sunday Roast - Every Week!

Absolutely fantastic! Evening meal and breakfast was delicious.
Johnny and the team saved the day for us when we were stranded in Penrith with no onward travel when trying to travel home to Edinburgh. They went above and beyond sorting us accommodation in the comfiest caravan we have ever stayed in. Evening meals were amazing in the lovely bar, very cosy with a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast in the dining room was delicious too, 10 out of 10 for everything! Big thanks to the team at the Punchbowl, we’ll definitely be back for a proper holiday soon.

We stayed in one of the static caravans to the rear of the hotel and loved every minute. Having stayed there before we knew how good it was.

Beautiful location, very friendly family place.
We stayed in a caravan just behind the pub which was perfect for us and our 1 year old. The staff were more than welcoming and helpful and the breakfast was very tasty. I would certainly go back and recommend to anyone.

Perfect location, lovely people, clean and bright accommodation
We’ve stayed a couple of times at the Punchbowl Inn in the beautiful village of Askham before because it’s the perfect location to be able to get to and from Kendal Calling in Lowther Deer Park. We’ve stayed in a room above the pub and then opted for a static caravan behind the pub for the past two years. All three times, we’ve received a really warm welcome, ace service, fab selection of beers, wines and gins and yummy food. Our whole family would highly recommend staying here. 😃👍
