Charming cottage, with a very comfy bed and excellent bed linen

Everything - the log burning fire was a particularly nice touch.

Delightful

The cottage was very cosy and it was very convenient being right next door to the pub, with all its amazing food and lovely atmosphere, especially when it started raining

The Greyhound met our need to be close to and entertain local friends.

A charming village pub with good food and accommodation, with pleasant staff eager to please. The pub retains its atmosphere by having a 'snug' bar where locals still feel comfortable supping a pint. The Aldbury village is well preserved with character red-brick timbered homes. Close to the National Trust Ashridge Estate it is well worth a visit.

A cosy cottage, ideal for two.

We liked the charm and location of the cottage. A more than adequate kitchen, minus a microwave. But we enjoyed the food and friendly atmosphere just a few steps away in the pub. You do need to be fairly nimble in the shower room and on the stairs. Comfortable seating and beds. You take your chance with the parking, but always found a spot. Thank you.

Idyllic

Perfect cottage in the perfect English village. Stayed in Oxford for a few days, then booked two nights in the greyhound inn before we would visit Canterbury and drive back to Belgium. The plan was to visit London but we loved Aldbury so much we decided to stay and visit London some other time. We spent a perfect autumn day walking around the Ashridge estate with its 80 miles of trails, veteran trees, the lovely monument cafe, and were still in time for our evening Harry Potter tour.

Lovely cottage but noisy at night

Well equipped cute cottage. Would be improved by a bedside light in second bedroom and a lock on the bathroom. Also the night time noise from beer coolers or something was very unexpected and no sleep was had by anybody for two nights. A warning about this would have been appreciated or at least ear plugs provided.

Very relaxing being in the centre of the lovely village

Close to many good footpaths; walkable to Tring, a convenient village store and good food at the Greyhound. The cottage was clean and comfortable.
