The cottage is very nice. It is on two levels, the kitchen/dining is down quite a steep staircase that I found difficult to negotiate. I'm nearly 70 and my daughter fast approaching 50, so not spring chickens! If you want to use the sofa as a bed there is a 35 pound charge for linen that isn't made clear when booking. We both slept in the one bed which was fine. Extra charges should be mAde clear on booking and the fact it only has one bedroom was disappointing. Otherwise nice place if somewhat difficult to get to.
Amazing stay, great property, , clean, everything exactly as described. Host is very friendly and kind.
Not too far from city centre if you have a car.
Fantastic place
Overall ok but bed in lounge needs to change , not suitable for adults who wish to use it for than one night , or if you have mobility problems it to low , it tipped over when you get out of it. Otherwise they stay was enjoyable.
Four of us stayed at Carina and Victor’s cottage over the bank holiday weekend. We were taking part in the Edinburgh marathon festival. They were so accommodating and welcoming upon our arrival, Victor showed us around and was incredibly friendly. The cottage is beautifully designed and furnished - the photos don’t do it justice! There’s a lovely private patio which would be wonderful during summer, unfortunately we had a lot of rain. They had milk in the fridge for us and also some tunnocks teacakes which was lovely. The bedroom was comfortable and spacious for two and then the sofa becomes a flatbed in the living area - it is on the smaller side but still fine for two adults. There is a direct bus a ten min walk away into the city and Ubers for early morning departures for the races were also reliable.
We would definitely recommend their cottage as a place to stay particularly if you want to explore the outskirts of the city and be in some nature!
Many thanks to Carina & Victor!
This is a gem of a cottage. The bed was comfortable and dark at night. Living room comfy and the kitchen has everything you could need to cook for yourself. Victor was a friendly, helpful host and just at the end of the phone. Check in was so easy and parking on site was so safe.
Lovely clean cottage, lots of nice touches E.g. provisions to get you started tea, coffee, milk, dishwasher tablets, toilet roll, kitchen roll, bathroom toiletries. Good quiet location with parking. Quick responses from host when communicating. 10 min drive to station (with free parking) with train to Edinburgh taking approx 20 mins. Would recommend.
Thank you, Victor and Carina to make our stay so enjoyable. You were so welcoming and helpful with all our requests. The cottage was very clean, well equipped and nicely decorated. The area is beautiful, quiet and surrounded by trees. This holiday will always have a special place in our heart.

Cosy Cottage
Lovely little cottage with a cosy atmosphere and very friendly owners who have added lots of personal touches to ensure your stay is warm, comfortable and welcoming! Exceptionally clean and equiped with the basics needed for a short stay.
Victor and Carina were excellent hosts and own a beautiful property. Although due to our circumstances we were unable to stay as long as we would have liked. The facilities and the location were great and it is a superb location being in the countryside but only a short distance from Edinburgh. I would highly recommend this property.
My stay at the cosy cottage was very enjoyable. Victor and Carina were very hospitable and provided anything I needed. The cottage itself is a great size and has everything you would need for a short stay.
Tres tres bien, beaucoup d'indépendance, les hotes sont tres discrets, il y a tout ce qu'il faut. Petite intention à notre arrivée, c’était parfait
Situé vraiment pas loin d"Édimbourg. Parfait pour nous.
The owners of this cottage were the sweetest! And they made sure that we were taken care of! Also shared with us the best restaurants to visit! We cant wait to come back!
We had a lovely time in the cottage. Even though there was a problem one night with the alarm, the owners quickly and adequately solved it. The communication was clear and friendly.
We very much recommend this cottage.
Nice cottage in a quiet neighborhood a short drive from Edinburgh. The cottage is next to the owner’s house. There were two deliveries that came to ours instead of the main house and some workers at the main house. Because the bedroom looks out onto the driveway and main house it was not as secluded as I thought. But it was mostly quiet and there is a small private garden in the back. There was easy access to Rosslyn Chapel and other hikes and a nearby pub. We enjoyed our stay.
The garden cottage was an absolute stunning property in a perfect location for everything we needed. The hosts were super accommodating and very friendly.
We stayed here not wanting to stay in Edinburgh proper. We couldn’t have been happier… my husband was ready to move in! We’ll hopefully be back in the future.
My friends (3) and I were wonderfully surprised by this stay. Hosts were beyond helpful, and fast to respond. Beautiful property and cozy atmosphere. The cottage is well organized and EXTREMELY clean. One of the best places I have stayed in. It is easy to get into Edinburgh but does take 45 minutes by one bus.
Overall a wonderful experience and a great place to stay if you are making a trip to Edinburgh and area. Definitely would stay here again!
We had a wonderful time! We came for our honeymoon and Victor and Carina made us feel so welcome! The area is so quiet and beautiful, with many places for lovely walks nearby. The cottage is perfect for two people, and the back garden is so nice for meals.

About the host
Hosted by Victor & Carina Contini
Our family business is hospitality. We grow produce in our Kitchen Garden that we deliver to our restaurant on a daily basis. The cottage is on the edge of the garden and has its own small herb garden in the private courtyard at the back of the property.
Why they chose this property
The local area is very beautiful. Although we are only 5 miles out of the city centre we are surrounded by the countryside. There are lots of beautiful walks and the famous Roslin Chapel is only a few miles away
What makes this property unique
The cottage was built in the 1870’s but has been refurbished significantly internally. It still holds the charm of a period property but has all the modern essentials you would need.
