The Space:
Listen to music from the Sonos sound system, watch a movie on the huge flat screen or simply sit back and appreciate the views from the large windows. One could spend a weekend, a week or even longer absorbing the unique space at the old Police Office.
Featuring a spacious open plan kitchen with stunning deep blue cabinets, copper detailing as well as a quartz worktop and top quality Neff appliances, it’s the ideal space for a light breakfast before heading up the fells or a relaxed gourmet meal with loved ones.
The spacious hall has an abundance of room for outdoor gear as well as bikes (which can be provided for your stay) and a downstairs WC with shower.
The main living area is located on the first floor, this expansive space has wonderful seating areas, allowing you to all be together whilst enjoying private moments whether reading a book or planning your next adventure with the bespoke coffee table map. Also on this floor lies a cosy bedroom which can sleep up to 3 guests as well as the luxurious family bathroom with deep freestanding tub. To the second floor is another great relaxation area to unwind, with a beautiful velux window capturing the fells that surround the property. The master suite is the piest de resistance at the top of the house, with expansive beams, vaulted ceilings, a sumptuous velvet bed and contemporary en-suite with rainfall shower and Grohe fittings.
Guest Access:
You will have full use of the property throughout your stay, as well as one allocated parking space.
Arrival codes with access details for your stay will be sent two days prior to you arrival.
The Neighborhood:
The chocolate box village of Hawkshead has a wonderful collection of cafe's and traditional inns. It is the home of Hawkshead Relish which is an ideal stop off for the tastiest chutneys as well as Maria's own home cooked food to be heated at home.
Grizedale forest is on your doorstep, ideal for mountain biking, forest walks and a renowned sculpture trail. The lakeland towns and villages of Coniston, Near & Far Sawrey (the home of Beatrix Potter), Ambleside & Windermere are all within easy access by foot, car or public transport.
Getting Around:
This quaint little village is picture perfect but with 5 local pubs, great walks, beautiful church and artisan shops, its an ideal place to stay for your whole stay or use as a base for visiting other areas of the Lake District.
The village is easily accessible via both personal or public transport.
The 505 bus service runs frequently to both Coniston & Ambleside. The Car Ferry at Ferry Nab is an ideal shortcut to explore both Windermere & Bowness on Windermere. Ambleside provides a good taxi service should one wish to travel at different times to available public transport.
