Church Mouse Cottage has all the character and charm you would hope to find in a Georgian property. It has been decorated with love and furnished with comfort in mind to create, not just a place to stay, but a place to unwind, enjoy and make memories. It’s a peaceful haven, a bolt hole to escape to with the wood burner roaring, a good book and a large glass of red! It’s location is unique in that it is tucked away in the most tranquil and historic part of the village and yet it is just a 5 minute stroll to the high street with its many shops, pubs and cafes. Also, just a 10 minute walk away you will stumble upon the ‘Downs Link’ which used to be a railway line but is now a 37mile green corridor full of wildlife, perfect for picnickers, cyclists and walkers to enjoy and reconnect with nature. With the river Adur running through, it really is a wonderful place to just pause and take in the beautiful scenery. 🤗

We had a lovely time at the church mouse cottage, the little touches were much appreciated in particular the stuff for my dog that meant I didn’t need to bring as much of my own bits. Henfield also had a lot to recommend it. Thank you Anya for a great stay
Lovely cottage, made to feel right at home! Thoughtful touches that made the whole experience feel very special. Would love to come and stay again! Thank you!
Lovely cottage chosen as near to the wedding venue. Would love to return and explore the area more. Had every thing we needed as well as a few unexpected extras (prosecco and brownies). Our dog was happy in the rear garden as well as the church field 20 metres up the front path. Good comms with Anya the host.
Lovely place to stay and explore Knepp and surrounding countryside. The cottage is beautifully equipped , immaculately prepared and generously supplied with everything you might need and more. The homemade cake and Prosecco was also a lovely touch. Communication was great and we can’t recommend a stay here highly enough!
What a beautiful cottage in a fantastic location. Beautifully decorated with a lovely private garden. We enjoyed our stay and loved the home made brownies and the bottle of prosecco. Just perfect ❤️
This cottage is gorgeous, and was absolutely perfect for our stay.
Anya is a brilliant host - she contacted me prior to our visit, to ensure we had everything required, including for our little one - a cot ( which wasn't listed ), age-specific toys / bath toys, and the tepee outside was a lovely addition.
She also left us a bottle of fizz, home-made cake, and milk.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Thank you Anya.
We had a lovely relaxing stay in this beautiful little cottage. It was perfectly situated for exploring the surrounding area. Quiet and very peaceful and yet close enough to the town to enjoy the pubs and restaurants. The cottage was very well equipped and had everything we needed and the extra little touches like wine and chocolate brownies on arrival were wonderful. Highly recommend the Church Muse Cottage !
Can't praise this property highly enough. Super convenient location with lots of amenities and gorgeous walks an easy distance on foot from the cottage. Beautiful property, a generous size for a cottage with lots of charming features. Lovely welcome from the host (cake! dog treats! local recommendations!) and super responsive on messages. Will be staying here again.
A beautiful, well-equipped cottage in very pretty surroundings. We had everything we needed- including doggy essentials and treats! Anya was an excellent host, really thoughtful and attentive. We would definitely return.
Upon entry to the property we were greeted with a personalised card from the host Anya, plus a complimentary bottle of prosecco on ice, and some homemade brownies. The cottage is very homely, beautifully decorated and located a stone's throw from the centre of the lovely village of Henfield. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely recommend.
We had an amazing stay in this wonderful home. It is situated in a delightful village with easy access to all the lovely things you can do in the area. The best cottage we have stayed in by far and we have stayed in many.
Fantastic cottage with everything you need, we had a lovely welcome pack on arrival.
The cottage is cosy clean, you feel very at home.
The village has two nice pubs within walking distance.
The cottage is close to visiting Brighton lewes and worthing.
We will return
Beautifully maintained secluded cottage in a stunning village setting.
Host is very accommodating and understanding.
Definitely returning for a second visit.
This is a very charming and aesthetic cottage in the most wonderful Sussex village with a fantastic church, pub and small shops to hand. We charged our car in the e - bay at the Leisure centre and walked across Henfield Common with the dog and drove out to the Seven Sisters walk in the South Downs. The cottage has beautiful rooms and an enclosed rear garden safe for a dog. Loved it. Hope to make it back. Anya also left lovely Easter trimmings which was very welcome as it was our first Easter away from home ever.
A lovely place to stay. Lots of welcoming touches - complementary cakes/Coissants and Proscecco. The cottage is very well equipped with all you could need even a coffee maker with milk frother! Very dog friendly too. Beautifully decorated and restful. A great location - short walk to shops and nice cafes. The South Downs is on on your doorstep for long walks, coast a short drive away. Really recommend. We will certainly be back.
We were welcomed by some goodies and a pint of milk , thank you. The cottage is in a lovely village with good amenities . Perfect location for walking on the South Downs which is what we did.
The cottage is cosy and comfortable , it had everything we needed with a lot of personal touches. The beds are lovely and comfortable with good quality pillows and linen which we appreciated.
Would definitely book again. Thank you.
Thank you so much Anya, for opening your doors to your beautiful cottage - we couldn’t have asked for more, we didn't want to leave! From the time of booking to being welcomed by home made carrot cake and Prosecco, Anya has been one the best hosts I’ve had the pleasure to book with. Thanks again, hope to stay again and Happy New Year! Yvonne & Ian x
Another lovely stay in wonderful Church Mouse Cottage
This was our second stay at Church Mouse Cottage. We again enjoyed every minute of it. The cottage is so lovely - nicely decorated and clean. Thx again Anya for your generous hospitality and hope to come back next year!
This cottage was like stepping back to a beautiful, simpler time. But in a lovely cottage well supplied and equipped beyond any I have stayed in before. From the great expresso/latte machine, the classy soaps, soft towels, and the comfortabke beds and bedding to the fresh carrot cake and BEER in the fridge.
This place felt like home the first day. And our host, Anya was so helpful with anything we asked her about, which was alot. (Especially the best tavern to watch the big football game- Go England).
The village was full of nice people, even to 3 Yank guys. The church, the bakery and breakfast cafe, the tavern and the stunning views from the walking paths made this a memorable place.
We had a great stay at the cottage. The property was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and in a great location for touring around the Sussex countryside. And all this within an easy 30 minute drive to Gatwick. The cottage had everything you could possibly need for your stay, and we were very kindly left some treats– one of them a very special touch. Great comms from Anya throughout (and a great sense of humour), easy check in; all in all the absolutely perfect place to stay! Would not hesitate to recommend to others, and would definitely stay here again on our next visit to the UK. Thanks!
We loved our 2 night stay at Mouse Cottage and all the previous reviews we read about this beautiful place, were accurate. Anya has thought of everything for a very comfortable stay! It was a great relaxing base for us after a busy week in London, and perfect for a day trip to the Seven Sisters and Brighton. Highly recommended!
