Two-bed, one bathroom period apartment with original features and stylish street balcony. Great location just a few blocks easy walk to Paseo de Gràcia - with the Gaudi buildings of la Pedrera, Casa Batlló, the emblematic street la Rambla and the Sagrada Familia, amongst other beautiful sites.

This Sunrise is one of two luxury apartments that we have in the same building which are perfectly located in an upmarket street in the heart of the Eixample district within the Quadrat D'or (the Golden Square) of central Barcelona.

We welcome stays from couples, families (there is a cot) and cruise visitors. There is a limit of 4 adults for comfort reasons.

It is within comfortable walking distance of most top popular tourist sites such as the Gaudi modernist architecture of La Pedrera, Casa Batlló, the Sagrada Familia, La Rambla, the Gothic Quarter with the Cathedral, designer shopping streets. "barceloneta" city beach and old port can be reached in a 20 minutes walk or a 5-minute taxi ride.

The apartments date from the year 1900 and have original "escofet" tiled floors and period features.

We have worked carefully with designers and specialists to retain the original building features whilst bringing the apartments into the 21st century by including a stylish modern kitchen, bathroom, comfortable living room and dining area and a period balcony looking over great period architecture. There is a free Wifi fibre-optic connection and the apartment has climate control air-conditioning.

In our opinion this is one of the best areas for visiting Barcelona because of its central location and historical heritage. The apartment is very peaceful at night and at weekends. There are great cafes, bars and restaurants close by which we can recommend and we have personally tried. The closest metro stations (Urquinaona (l-1 red line and Tetuan L-2 purple line and Girona L-4 yellow line) are only 2-3 minutes walk from the flat.

The building does not have its own private parking because it is a protected building, but a small privately-run car park is close to the apartment (less than one minute walk). Otherwise, paid street parking is also available in the area.

Bathroom towels and linen are provided as well as basic toiletries, cleaning products and a welcome pack.

A taxi should only take you around 15 minutes from Barcelona Sants railway station, 30 minutes from Barcelona El Prat Airport and 20 minutes from the cruise port. We can help reserve taxis on departures. Other public transport options are also available.

A beautiful apartment in a great location

We loved our stay in this apartment in Eixample - it was perfect for three adults, really comfortable, clean, beautifully decorated, and in a fabulous location. Plus Isabel was a great host - fantastic communication and very friendly ans helpful. Highly recommend.

Perfect location!

Appartement is in a very lovely place, close to all main attractions. Perfect location! Tiny for the family, but there’s everything you need. Communication with Owners was also very good. I would definitely stay there again!

Isabel met us on arrival and not only explained all aspects of the apartment but also the location and offered details of New Year's Eve celebrations. The generous bottles of wine, milk and basics within the apartment were greatly appreciated too. Our group enjoyed the unique original features within the apartment and in particular the windows opening onto the street which offered great light. Loved the dishwasher! Well equipped in terms of crockery and glassware. Thoroughly enjoyable, we will certainly be returning.

Wonderful apartment, great host, perfect location!

This beautifully restored apartment exceeded our expectations. Isabel met us on our arrival at 9:30 pm. There was juice, milk, Cava and chocolate in the fridge, and a book she had compiled with FAQs about the place and recommendations about dining, the Metro etc. The kitchen was reasonably equips and had a washer/dryer (bring a bit of laundry detergent with you) The air conditioning worked well. We turned it off each time we left and it cooled quickly. We were able to walk to almost everywhere we wants to go. Our fave restaurant that she suggested was Tapas 24, very imaginative. Our favourite Barcelona B&B, Ca La Maria, was booked up and we were very happy to stay here instead. When we left for the beach in Sitges, my daughter left her iPod in Barcelona. Isabel made sure she got it back, again way beyond expectations. If this apartment is available for your trip, take it!!!

A lovely, stylish, comfortable apartment in a nice period building and ideal location!

Apartment 1b From the time of booking the advice and information that came from Isabel was really helpful/useful. Isabel was at the door to meet us upon arrival and made us feel very welcome, all the information required about the property and the city was provided in the apartment and Isabel was available to contact if there were any other requirements, including contacting us at the end of our holiday to see if we required a taxi booking for the airport, which made things easier when your Spanish/Catalan isn't very good, fortunately Isabel is pretty fluent in English! The apartment is in a lovely area of Barcelona, beautiful, stylish, comfortable and with all mod cons. Ideally located for the vast majority of the main points of interest, the sagrada familia is probably the furthest away within comfortable walking distance, but only took us 25 minutes to get there, park Guell is a 20 minute bus ride and the public transport system is brilliant. Most other places are within 10 minutes walk from the property. Barcelona is a beautiful city and just ambling around the streets you see so many interesting and beautiful buildings, and in the evenings, our favourite place was just around the corner at parc arc de triumph and parc de la cuitadella where there is a lovely relaxed atmosphere, plenty of places to sit and relax and all sorts of interesting artists and musicians to see. A brilliant holiday made all the better by having a lovely home to retire to at the end of the day!

Great apartment for a sightseeing base

Wonderful Barcelona apartment

This wonderful apartment is located in a nice quiet neighborhood but still within walking distance of many sites. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, in large part due to the wonderful owner, Isabel. She met us at the apartment and supplied a few basic food and drink items. She also provided a great resource folder with recommendations for restaurants and local sites. The apartment is well appointed and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Sweet Home Barcelona is sweet indeed!

The first thing that is great about the apartment is its owner Isabel! She is really wonderful, caring and available at any time you like. As far as the apartment goes it offers great luxury; comfortable beds, spacious living area, kitchen etc. The apartment is really clean and chic (I personally loved the floor tiles, we stayed in apartment 1-B). The apartment has anything you might want and so much more!

The perfect place to stay in Barcelona

My family and I have stayed in this apartment twice, and wouldn't hesitate to stay again the next time we visit Barcelona. I guess that should be enough of a review, in many ways... However, the apartment is just perfect. Firstly, its position is ideal - far enough away from the crowds of las Ramblas and the old town, yet close enough to walk to the Boqueria, Barceloneta, and the many Gaudi buildings of Eixample. The apartment is beautifully furnished and very well equipped. It really feels like a home from home. Isabel is the perfect host and really goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Of all the places we've stayed on our travels, this remains one of our absolute favourites. We really can't recommend it highly enough...

Above and beyond outstanding

This apartment was the best rental experience I've ever had. I have rented apartments over the years in Italy and Paris, but this was my first visit to Barcelona. I was traveling with my husband and teenaged daughter, and booked apt.1B. without any prior knowledge of the city. This rental could not be lovelier! It had a great location, a few blocks from the main shopping and restaurant area, but also had wonderful cafes right on the street it was in.The apartment was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, and whilst compact, was spacious enough for three people not to feel cramped. The welcome from Isobel,(who is charming,b.t.w.) included wine, chocolates and fresh flowers! an absolutely lovely touch. We felt like we were in a 5 star hotel. The apartment has air-conditioning, much appreciated in the summer heat, English language t.v. channels and shelves of English books. The bathroom had a very good shower, and the kitchen had everything we needed to make ourselves feel right at home.I also liked that the building was in a very safe neighbourhood, with secure doors and locks. Barcelona is a fantastic city for a holiday, and if I ever get a chance to return, I would definitely re-book this apartment.

Perfect for our city break

Beutiful apartment, excellent location

This was the second time we stayed in this apartment and plan to stay there again in the future. The apartment is beutifully decorated and excellently located on a quiet street, yet only ten minutes walk from Plaza Catalunya. Barcelona is a great city to walk around, and the apartment is a perfect base for that. We felt very welcome with fresh flowers on the table and a bottle of cava in the fridge. Isabel and Mike were most charming and helpful, and checked every now and then that we were comfortable. We are happy to recommend this apartment to all fellow travellers! :) Family Pietila, Finland

Comfortable and sylish in the heart of barcelona

Communication with Isabel, the owner of the apartment was super and her friendliness and local knowledge immediately put us at ease as soon as we arrived. The apartment is ideal for 2, very comfortable and in one of the best areas of Barcelona. It's a stone's throw away from the hub of the city and very quite in the evenings.There are lots of bars , cafes, shops and supermarkets all within very easy walking distance and if you have to park a car we found the car park around the corner in Ausias Marc convenient with very helpful staff. We have stayed in loads of apartments in Barcelona and we would happily return to this one. The information that the owner had compiled for the apartment book was the best we have seen with recommendations and useful maps. British TV is available, useful, if like me you get fed up with all the news on Spanish TV! The apartment felt like a home from home and I really did have to force myself to leave. What more could you ask for! Thanks

Our third stay at Sweet Home Barcelona

For the past three years we have stayed at Sweet Home Barcelona as part of our Spanish summer holiday. Each stay has been for three weeks or longer. It has become a firm fixture in our annual holiday itinerary. There are various factors which add up to make our stays here so happy: superbly tasteful interior decoration, all the required fixtures, an excellent location and super service from the very kind and friendly Isabel and Mike. The wifi works well, the air-conditioning is most welcome in the summer heat and the view into the communal courtyard is endlessly fascinating. One evening we were entertained by our view of one of the neighbours playing ball with his white pet rabbit. And of course, being in the marvellous city of Barcelona always delights us. We are of the belief that your choice of accommodation goes a long way in determining the quality of your holiday, hence we will keep returning to Sweet Home Barcelona.

Our summer "fix" in Barcelona

Sweet Home Barcelona is our most favourite holiday place. It is a home away from home in every sense. We will be returning there this summer for the third year in a row and will continue doing so for as long as we are able. The location of the apartment is magnificent. It is literally in walking distance of marvellous restaurants, two supermarkets, the bus route to the beach, and of course the magnificent stores that cater to every shopaholic. Not to mention the little cafés and bars that seem to populate every street corner of this cosy little city. The hosts, Isabel and Mike, are kindness and generosity personified. The interior decoration of the apartment is absolutely pleasing in every way and it is beautifully maintained. We have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone who likes comfort and convenience.

When choosing a vacation apartment, I like to know that the owners are attentive to detail and friendly to deal with. This is what made us choose Sweet Home Barcelona -- along with the fabulous location -- and we were not disappointed. From the champagne awaiting us in our refrigerator to a quick resolution of a WiFi problem, Isabel and Mike were perfect hosts. Ready with information, but letting us have privacy to enjoy our vacation. We would highly recommend this immaculate, modern apartment to all. Barcelona is an amazing city, and our stay at SHB made it even better!

location, location, location

We stayed here for four nights with another couple - we were both celebrating our 25th anniversary. The location was ideal - close to many of the major attractions, yet quiet at night. The apartment was well equipped, clean and very comfortable. The furniture arrangement in the living room provided plenty of seating room and the galley kitchen was well stocked. Only a minor comment about the kitchen, both my friend and I are short and we had difficulty reaching the items in the cabinets - so we had to put our husbands to work. The second bedroom is small and compact and there was no room to store our luggage - but the foyer outside this bedroom is quite large and large items were stored there. Isabel was very welcoming, she and Mike live across the hallway - they were nearby but not intrusive. Upon our arrival, there was a small welcome package and a box of chocolates along with a bottle of cava - an anniversary gift. The fresh flowers were also a nice touch. There were corner stores and a large grocery store nearby, along with restaurants and several kebab canteens. We enjoyed our stay and do not hesitate recommending this apartment.

Wonderful central apartment, lovely hosts

This apartment was beautiful. The decoration was stunning (as you can see from the website). The area was lovely with the beautiful old buildings and little cafes on many street corners. It was quick and easy to get to all the interesting places around the city. There was everything that you needed in the apartment including dishwasher, washing machine, satellite TV and Wifi (important for teenagers) - and we loved the Nespresso coffee machine (even enjoyed visiting the Nespresso shop on Passieg de Gracia to stock up on supplies). Isabel was really helpful, providing lots of advice. It was lovely to have fresh flowers and some provisions on arrival and the coupon books we found in the cupboard saved us quite a bit in our sightseeing. The details note that the bed in the second bedroom is a small double bed - whilst you couldn't fit two large teenagers in it there was thoughtfully an alternative guestbed that worked just fine. Great holiday in this georgeous city, would definitely recommend the apartment.

Lovely Apartment

We stayed at this apartment with our two daughters and would definitely recommend it. The apartment was beautifully furnished, in a great location and was very clean when we arrived. We were walking distance (10 - 15 minutes) from a lot of tourist attractions. Having satellite TV was a definite plus for us and particularly our girls as they were able to watch some of their favourite programmes. Isabel and Mike were very warm and very helpful and had even stocked up on a few basic supplies in the fridge for us when we arrived which was a nice touch as it was late evening by the time we got there. We were also able to leave our luggage with them after checking out as our return flight was in the evening so that was a real help.

Amazing Stay in Barcelona, Amazing apartment

We really enjoyed our visit to Barcelona, and this apartment was key in our "happiness factor." First of all, the property looks even more beautiful than the pictures on this website. Comfortable beds, comfortable sofas, great amenities and superb location (about two blocks from the metro). Second, the apartment is immaculately clean. Third, Isabel and Mike (the owners) were perfect hosts and answered all our questions and were very happy to provide recommendations and advice when we asked for it. You really can't ask for more. Not only will I be recommending this apartment to my friends and family, when we are back in Barcelona, we would like to stay there again!

Fantastic

Our family stayed in the apartment in April 2010. The apartment is beautiful, everything is so tastefully updated. We were thrilled with all of the lovely touches in the apartment. And the location is wonderful, close to everything you need and want to see. We were unable to fly home due to the ash cloud, and Isabel and Mike were so wonderful and accomodating, we were very lucky that we were so well taken care of when so many others were not so lucky. We loved our unexpectedly extended stay in Barcelona, and give the highest recommendation to this apartment, as well as Isabel and Mike. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in Barcelona!!
