About this property

18th Century sandstone cottage with all modern comforts and old world charm.

This detached, character cottage has been lovingly converted from 18th-century sandstone farm buildings to make a delightful holiday property with beams, handmade wooden features and level access to the ground floor. The beamed living room has comfortable seating with tv/dvd and books and games. The kitchen is well equipped for food preparation and dining and chatting . There’s a wet room and toilet downstairs.
On the first floor there is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom with TV. There’s also a second bathroom with a corner bath and toilet.
There is outside dining / barbeque area and walled garden with roses. always a pleasure to spend a sunny morning over a leisurely coffee .

liebevoll eingerichtetes ländliches Cottage

Wir haben das Cottage bereits zum dritten Mal gebucht, weil es unseren familiären Ansprüchen gerecht wird: es ist geräumig, recht konfortabel und gut erreichbar, zudem liebevoll restauriert. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich, die Höhe der Cottage-Miete ist angemessen. Dessen Ausstattung ist traditionell, aber zeitgemäß, lediglich die Toilettenspülungen sind gewöhnungsbedürftig (und auch etwas mehr Besteck - Gabeln - könnte vorgehalten werden) und man muss im Sommer mit erhöhten Temperaturen in den Schlafräumen leben, wenn man sich vor Spinnen ängstigt. Man erreicht vom Cottage aus lokale Sehenswürdigkeiten wie Llangollen und den Aquädukt in Trevor ebenso gut wie den großen Supermarkt in Cefn Mawr - Chester erreicht man per Auto in ca. in 30 Minuten, für Snowdonia sollte man aufgrund der geographischen Verhältnisse (enge, kurvige Bergstraßen) etwas mehr Zeit einplanen. Zum Wandern eignet sich die unmittelbare Umgebung des Cottage: es gibt zahlreiche schöne "public footpaths", die einen abseits der Straßen durch die wunderschöne nordwalisische Natur führen, teils durch Schaf- und Rinderweiden, teils auf ehemaligen Bahntrassen, teils am Llangollen-Kanal oder am River Dee entlang. Alles in allem können wir das Cottage allen naturbegeisterten und bewegungsfreudigen Familien weiterempfehlen, die keinen Bock auf Pauschaltourismus haben und Nordwales lieber auf eigene Faust entdecken möchten.
