About this property

Entered through the courtyard archway, this inviting cottage is light and spacious. The beamed drawing room has an antique pine fireplace with iron stove and a mellow terracotta tile floor. Bow windows give lovely views of the Upper Court grounds.

The separate dining room has a refectory table with seating for 8 (with an additional table providing for a total of 14 diners if needed). A door leads to a sheltered private outside seating area – just the spot for a summer lunch.

The Herford family live in the manor and run Upper Court with very friendly staff. The rest of the family also live nearby, and are very involved with the pottery and art classes.
