About this property

Kerenza Sands, Praa Sands

Hugging the south coast between Penzance and Helston, Praa Sands is a beautiful mile long beach in Mounts Bay, and with its calm shallows, fine sand and excellent surfing conditions, is the perfect place for spending relaxing Cornish holidays with family or friends. One of a row of exclusive beachfront properties, Kerenza Sands rests just a few metres from the shore, separated from the beach only by the village green, and has a large garden with uninterrupted views of the bay.

Recently refurbished to an exceptional standard, the property boasts three spacious bedrooms (one of which is en-suite) and a fabulous open plan living space, all tastefully styled with gorgeous furniture and contemporary colour schemes. The modern kitchen features lovely sea views and comes fitted with a range of appliances and utensils, while the bright and airy dining room with its large table and ocean panorama beyond the garden, is the ideal spot for sharing meals and conversation together. For days when you fancy a meal out, the Sand Bar which perches right on the beach, is just a few minutes’ walk away, and here you’ll be able to enjoy stone baked pizzas, gourmet burgers and a variety of light bites with some of the best beach and bay views in Cornwall. Unwind with a good book or magazine in the living room to the sound of waves breaking on the beach or laze back in the summer room to discuss the day’s plans. After your adventures out and about you'll be able to look forward to sinking into your very own private hot tub while dinner sizzles away on the BBQ.

Surrounded by coastal paths and walking routes, guests can choose from a host of ways to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery, whether out on the water SUPping and surfing, or on dry land, meandering the coast and countryside by bike or on foot. Nearby, the coastal town of Marazion with its famous St Michaels Mount, is just 10 minutes-drive away, while the iconic fishing town of Porthleven with its storm-driven harbour wall and wonderful restaurants lies the same distance away in the other direction. Slightly further afield but within easy reach by car, the towns of Penzance and Newlyn are well worth a visit, as is the charming village of Mousehole and the small but beautifully formed Lamorna Cove.

Coastal Path at the Back Door

The highlight of our week was hiking the Coastal Path and it was accessible from the back yard gate. Great home and a great location!
Stayed 8 nights in Nov 2022

Excellent location

Amazing location with coastal walks on your doorstep. The garden is very dog safe for those who wish to bring their four legged friends. The hot tub is an added bonus.

Fantastic location

This is our second trip to Kerenza Sands and we love the location and setting within Praa Sands. The accommodation is roomy, and set up perfectly for what we are looking for as we holiday with our dog. He/we love the enclosed garden and fantastic beach and nearby local walks. Overall an excellent experience. Our only disappointment was our experience on the morning when we left. Checkout is advertised as 10am and we had taken the dog out for his last walk around 8am and our teenage daughter was having a last go in the hot tub when someone from the house keeping team came through the gate into the garden dropping off fresh linen for the change over. It made her feel very uncomfortable and was a little intrusive. They then asked to go inside to leave the linen in the kitchen. She didn't really know what to say. We would not have a problem with items being dropped off ready for the next guests but perhaps these can be left at the front of the property or even in the garage if before 10am. This was then compounded by the hot tub engineer turning up before 9am wanting to get access to the hot tub to get it ready. We ended up packing up and leaving early and it left a slight taint on the experience which over the week had been fantastic.

Comfortable house in amazing location

Lovely house. We had a comfortable stay. The interior was spacious, clean and light. The location by the sea is a major plus looking out beyond the garden (complete with rabbits) to the rolling waves. There is a cupboard with games and paper provided. Hot tub is clean and well maintained. Would visit again and throughly recommend.

Serenity!

We really enjoyed our stay here and loved all the extra features and practicalities. Hot tub was lovely but very overlooked by dog walkers and cannot enjoy the full sea view. Idea location for local harbour and villages with a bus service on the same road. Annoyingly, we couldn’t find any cutlery! (Except plastic) and couldn’t reach anyone on the office phone. Furthermore, there was no guidance on turning the hot water on which, proved stressful on our wedding day. We also had an issue with a putrid stench from the on-suite bathroom (likely from septic tank) which made that room intolerable.

Comfortable home, great location

Kerenza Sands was a very comfortable, well equipped house in a quiet spot within Praa Sands. The location was great, an easy walk to the beach and it was lovely to see the sea from the property. We had great weather, so made good use of the garden and its lovely garden furniture and parasol! It’s a well placed property for exploring The Lizard and other parts of West Cornwall.

Lovely place wonderful views

We were a bit hesitant but should not have worried the reviews are correct wonderfull and clean nice decor excellent views nice and clean jacuzzi. Just a couple of things could improve although minor for the price you pay better quality toilet rolls at least ones that you don’t push your finger through very false economy when only one supplied for the week at least 2 would be better Better instructions on how to work the tv comments had been made it needs a aerial but we came to the conclusion that the signal was not great so you must have to use the apps to watch tv this needs clarification The side gate that enters the garden needs some sort of guard across we had a small chowowa type size pet and they could get through the gate through the bars All in all a great place if you like a nice view minutes from the beach the pictures on the web look nice but you need to see how lovely it really is. Well done Luxury Coastal

Pre Christmas getaway in Praa

We arrived the week before Christmas with three excited little ones and were really impressed with the house. The living room and dining areas are beautiful and the bedrooms are spacious. Given it was so close to Christmas our children were sad that there were no decorations but the games cupboard helped make up for this. It was a really cold period in December and the storage heaters were set at a specific temperature- this was too low for the conditions and the bedrooms were incredibly cold. One of our children was poorly and the lack of heat was a real concern. There were a number of key kitchen items missing (tea towels, baking trays) which made a stay with young children challenging. As did the tv which does not have freebies to standard channels- we had to log into personal accounts which didn’t feel right. Last, we loved the location and wanted to re-book for 2023. Prices have risen massively and what was a great treat is sadly out of reach.

Luxury - I dont think so!

The property has been styled beautifully and its location provides stunning views. However the attention to detail was missed and the customer service was really poor on this letting. Paying full price for lack of of luxury is appaling! My issue comes down to three major points - the broken dishwasher that was full of stagnant water on arrival and lacking it's front door, the lack of response from the letting agency and its representative until near the end of our stay, and the hidden cutlery draw, which I didnt find until the penultimate day! If you're going to let a property labled as 'luxury' then for heaven's sake ensure that as an agent your inspect it or have the cleaners inform you of any problems before the next set of guests arrive and that problems are fixed ASAP. I had to wash up manually during our stay (wasting my relax time), not the end of the world I know, but not something I was expecting. I had to go out a buy a basic set of cutley as could not find the modern hidden draw in the new kitchen as it's so well hidden!! why??? why not label it or leave some sort of instructions in a guest manual (which was no where to be seen or found) as to where everything is and how everythign works. Also please tell me what is the point in having heating and radiators that are operated via an App!!! if you don't leave details of how this works. And why presume we all use apps???! The weather can be quite stormy in Cornwall on the coast so why on earth was the garden furniture not better secured - we had to rescue half of it from the neighbour's garden again becuase no thought was given to this weather fact and its impact!! The conservatory main window has at some point been broken as a window film was applied on the remaining single pain - this leaked during our stay and the heavy rains that came and went daily. Shouldn't this have been fixed at the end of the summer? Again appearances can be deceiving!! so total luxury at Kerenza - I don't think so!! You can have as much nice and quality furniture and cushions as you like, all in a modern style giving the look of luxury but please have the basics right if you're going to charge the luxury price!!
