Town: The village of Meliden has a history of lead mining, a neolithic burial mound called Gop Hill that offers panoramic views of the area, as well as good pubs/restaurants and shops. It is located only one mile from the lovely North Wales coast, between the historic village of Rhuddlan with its majestic castle and the well-known resort of Prestatyn. Prestatyn has a Blue Flag beach with miles of golden sand that is perfect for fishing, swimming, and other water sports. the ideal starting point for seeing the stunning Snowdonia National Park, the Clwydian Hill Range, Victorian Llandudno, the Welsh Mountain Zoo, or the magnificent shopping and architecture of old Chester. If you're in shape, you can walk the 8th-century Offa's Dyke Pathway from Prestatyn's beachfront all the way to Chepstow through breath-taking scenery.
