Grab and Coffee and get more a feel for the place whilst reading the following description:

The Ferry House is a perfect haven for those looking to escape the hectic pace of everyday life. A place where you can wake up in a superking size bed and look straight onto St. Ives Bay and Godrevy lighthouse. Watch the ebb and flow of the tide, whilst waking or having your morning tea or coffee. Step out of the door and walk on the dunes or beach comb in St. Ives Bay. There is a spacious private lawned garden with an enclosed heated , swimming pool and a summerhouse where you can be outside but not feel the elements whilst watching the sunset over the bay. Alternatively, there is a TV, DVD player and free unlimited super fast infinity broadband/wifi connection.

Guests are able to park for free at the Church or we can assist in organising parking on
the nearby quay 200-250m along the beach from the house. There is no vehicle parking at the property as it is located on the beach and so guests should be able to walk 200m to get in and out of the property. Any questions concerning mobility and access please get in contact.

Lelant, the birthplace of Rosamunde Pilcher, is conveniently located near to St. Ives, but remains a peaceful and relaxed village even in the height of summer. The Eden Project is within easy distance to visit for the day, as are many of Cornwall's tourist destinations. A great location, especially of interest to golfers, walkers, painters, ornithologists, kayakers, windsurfers and anglers.

The famous local author Rosamunde Pilcher has recently described the walk to the house as her favourite walk:
"My favourite walk is at Lelant, down the road past the church onto the golf course. You see the bay and the colours, and it's never the same - it's just perfect."

We truly understand how hard everyone works these days and that there is so much pressure and stress in every day life. Holiday and down time is very precious. We therefore feel it is our duty when we are chosen as a holiday destination to show our appreciation and do what we can to make sure you “feel the love.”

We know we have the keys to a magical destination. We want to share that with our guests so that they too can tap into the peace and calm that our guests repeatedly enjoy having stayed at Beach Pads. The remarkable experience of staying at Beach Pads provides many of our guests with precious memories, that feel better, are worth more and last longer than many life’s more fleeting likes.

All of the Beach Pads Team including the Housekeepers, the Gardeners, Maintenance Team as well as our award winning village cake maker @TheLittle HomeBakery have all been part of the at Beachpads Team for over 5 years. Some since the beginning when the family first opened the doors to The Beach House back in 2008. We can sincerely say that all members of the team aim for our guests to have a wonderful and special experience. We all work hard to ensure that our guests make wonderful memories during their time being at the Beach Pads.

We are a member of The Professional Association of Self Caterers and are approved as “Visitor Ready” by the AA and Visit England and are in the South West Coastal Route Accommodation guide due to our proximity of being located on the Coastal Footpath. A great spot to walk the first UK Section of the Camino!

A review affected by weather

We are frequent Cornwall visitors loving the mix of weather. This is a review based on a trip with 2 named storms, just to give some perspective. Owner communication and check in very detailed. The Ferry House is a ‘good weather’ pick, with great outside space and direct access to the quiet porth kidney sands. It was comfortable, worm, well appointed, clean, with superb views stretching up and down the estuary. However with winds and driving rain beyond the norm, the house was too small for 5 adults and 2 dogs.

Beach Paradise

We had a wonderful time at Lelant. The location of Ferry House wouldn’t be better and the kids had a wonderful time on the beach and in the pristine waters! The property was clean and well maintained and it was magical waking up to the views. I don’t think I have seen prettier waters in the UK! The owner is very responsive, considerate and patiently answered all my questions regarding access, parking, grocery delivery etc etc. We will certainly come back and have recommended the property and also neighbouring properties to our friends!

The Ferry House July-August 2021

This property was everything we had hoped it would be for our family summer holiday. Even on days when the weather isn’t so good, this house has everything you need to keep you occupied during your stay. It is all about the location and just looking at the ever changing views from the house was enough for us. The house was well-equipped, has comfortable beds, a fantastic hot tub and is in a great location for easily getting to St.Ives although parking is a nightmare so advisable to get a train or bus there. Our 2 dogs loved being walked on the beach twice a day which doesn’t get too busy and is spacious enough to be able to avoid other people should you wish to. I would totally recommend this property to others and I would love to return as soon as possible.

Amazing Beach Side Stay - Perfect for the Family

Nicola’s place is amazing. Perfectly located in such a beautiful village and also close enough to St Ives and Carbis Bay for the pick of restaurants/bars and pubs. Being next to the SW coastal path is another huge bonus. The house was immaculate and the brand new kitchen a delight. Thank you Nicola for an amazing stay. We will definitely come again!

Lovely time in Lelant

We had a lovely stay. The only difficulty was the walk to the property with our 83 and 78 year old relatives across the beach. The parking was also a little difficult sometimes. The area is amazing and we loved walking and seeing all the wildlife. Very beautiful.

A very special place

We really enjoyed our stay and left relaxed and renewed. The Ferry House is a very special place and my partner spent hours watchcing the tide and beach activity. Very thankful for nice food item gifts on arrival for my partner's birthday and banners around the house made it extra special. It was low key entry and exit, all as described, house clean and all items needed for good food and good rest. Again, a very special place and we are lucky they share such a gem with us city folk.

Fantastic location with stunning sea views

Our only disappointment is we only stayed for one week instead of two. Great views particularly from master bedroom which is large with enormous very comfortable bed. Great beach for bathing and surfing a short walk along river beach (outside Ferry House). Very impressed with the friendly RNLI Life Gaurds who operate a flag system and observe from waters edge. House is very well equipped especialy the kitchen which could be a bit bigger but is fully functional. A tumble dryer would be a help as getting stuff dry in inclement weather is a bit of a problem. Nice indoor pool and hot tub a great hit with the kids Loads of games and entertainment available. Minor hiccups resolved promptly by Nicola (the manager/owner) All 8 of us had a great time and will return

Paradise!

Four of us (adults)stayed at Ferry House with our labrador, Charlie. We parked at dynamite quay using the permit provided. We could see the car from the house which was comforting and had no problems whatsoever. The walk on the beach takes only a few minutes, you just need to be aware of the tide times and not mind walking over a few rocks and mostly sand and then cope with steps up to the house. We did not try the route over the golf course as parking was difficult and busy whilst we were there. The house is private and with lovely gardens. It has a quirky feel with cottage style features and window seats but also a beach feel with coordinating furniture and accessories. The house is spotlessly clean and has all mod cons. Everything has been considered in the kitchen. There was still an April Chill at night when we visited so we lit the woodburner every evening and we were lovely and warm watching the sun go down at the beach. Sand does get everywhere as it is a beach house right on the beach but is easily cleaned up off the slate/tiled floor. I especially loved the fresh clean white bedding and ample piles of towels for each bedroom. We also appreciated the lovely welcome pack. We spent four blissful days walking on the gorgeous white sandy beaches and swimming in our warm pool and hot tub till the late hours. Our dog Charlie absolutely loved it and it truly is doggy paradise as the beach is dog friendly all the time. To be honest we fell in love with Ferry House and would easily stay there forever! We should really keep this lovely place secret but its just too lovely not to share our memories. Did I mention how relaxing it was, you can stay all week and not speak to a soul if you so choose listening to the waves, or you can watch all the beach activity from your window like quad bikes, kite surfing, rowers, dog walkers, wildlife, or like us you can drop into St Ives just 3 miles down the road or Carbis Bay, do your shopping in close by M&S/Asda or do some sight seeing to the beautiful St Michaels Mount, or visit the Minack Theatre with spectacular views. The only thing I can honestly critique is we tried to use the sunbeds but they were a bit old and rusty and not built for the larger lady shall we say! Some may say that some of the downstairs furnishings were a bit retro but we loved this laid back beach style and the modern accessories have been matched beautifully. Upstairs is as good as any boutique hotel. Just gorgeous!

Absolutely fantastic place to stay!

My partner and I stayed at this wonderful beach house with our dog. We were completely taken aback by the fabulous views and the peace and quiet! The bedroom is just marvellous. We spent mornings in bed with tea watching the tide go out and dogs running up and down the beach. We couldn't believe we could see the sea whilst sitting up in bed! The lounge area is just stunning, with panoramic views to the sea. We couldn't fault this place. It was secluded, quiet, peaceful, beautifully clean and tidy, the cupboards were stocked with everything we needed to cook with and eat off. There was even a lovely bottle of mulled wine and tea and jam left for us, along with a bottle of milk. The owner was so friendly and accommodating, allowing us to arrive earlier and leave later on our day of departure. The garden was beautifully looked after. Perfect for our dog to run around in without the worry of him escaping. And to top it all off,the hot tub was absolutely perfect. Such a wonderful way to wind down in the evening. It was so clean and such a lovely touch! We can't thank you enough for allowing us to stay and have such s wonderfully relaxing holiday. I have already recommended you, and may be coming back again next year! Thank you thank you thank you!!

A very special place...

The location of the Ferry House is nothing short of stunning! The sea comes up to garden wall at high tide and at low tide there is a vast expanse of beautiful white sand beach. From the Living Room we saw seals, cormorants, King Fisher, Falcons and much more. It is a short walk to the house but we parked on Dynamite Quay (arranged by the excellent owner, Nicola) and it added an extra element to the holiday...first time we've walked along a beach to get to a house! The house itself is tucked away with a private, large enough garden that would be the perfect place to sit and watch people/wildlife/sunsets/sunrises/views/big sky's, etc. and enjoy a drink in Summer, though we did that over a balmy (17c) Christmas! We are a family group of 4 and the house was an ideal size for us, I would imagine that in the summer with the patio doors pulled back that allow direct access from the Lounge to the front garden, there would be plenty of space for a large group. The upstairs is perfect, looks like it's fairly newly refurbed, with really comfortable beds (the main bedroom has the biggest bed i've ever seen!), huge amount of space and glorious views. The downstairs is practical and a little more 'lived in' but is clean and well provisioned. One reviewer mentioned this and all I can say is that this is a Beach House, it's by the beach so you will get sand on the slate floor and it must be difficult to maintain, but the Cleaners and Owners do a superb job. The location (did I mention it is stunning?) more than makes up for a bit of sand and the furniture, etc. is in keeping with the beach house feel. The Pool is really good, much better than expected and used throughout our stay, as was the Hot Tub...and it was well maintained during our week. We didn't get to use the newly installed Wood Burner as it was too warm, but that would be fantastic on a cold winters' eve. The house has super fast Wifi (boys were happy!) and overall is fantastic value for money...yes it's dearer in August but if you've a young (or old) family and you want a beautiful, huge beach then it's literally on your doorstep...throw in the pool and hot tub and happy days! Last thing, I left my watch (an expensive Tag) at the house and didn't realise until I got home and the Cleaner and Owner went well out of their way to reunite me with it. Again, I mention this as it's just another example of Nicola's commitment to providing the very best experience.

Wonderful hideaway

Great house right on the sandy beach of the estuary.Great for seal spotting. Lovely decor throughout and all the bits and bobs you would need for a relaxing stay. The pool was fantastic and kept the kids amused for hours.Great temperature too for the adults. The dogs loved the beach walks right on their door step. Would love to come back and try out the log burner sometime.

Birthday Treat

We have just enjoyed a fabulous weekend here to celebrate a "special" birthday. After a long, wet and tiring drive we were not really looking forward to the walk in the dark to find our home for the weekend, but we had come with torches as advised and were welcomed by a lovely warm home, and it was worth every second of the journey. A superb relaxing location, clean, comfortable and well equipped accommodation, we would love to return for a longer break. +++
