Gorgeous cottage

We had a lovely stay at Nantuat Stables. Perfect spot for exploring the surrounding countryside and beaches. The house is beautiful - the pictures don’t do it justice! We hope to stay again another time.

Family break in St Ewe

We had a very enjoyable week in St Ewe. Sue's cottage was lovely. It was very comfortable and immaculate inside. Communication with Sue was quick and easy. The cottage was in a perfect location, and the pub across the road was ideal!

Lovely property

We enjoyed our short break here, the owner Sue was very welcoming and helpful. The house is very comfortable and handy to have 3 ensuite bathrooms. Lovely garden, the kitchen was great if you want to cook or the pub a short walk away was great. Plenty of places to visit within a short drive.

Walking the coastal path

We booked the cottage to allow us access to the coastal path. It was perfect for all drop offs and pick ups! Weather was rather against us, but luckily the cottage had good washing facilities and we had dry clothes for every day. Everyone slept well. We also used the local pub twice for an evening meal and we were grateful for its close proximity. All in all a good comfortable stay which everyone enjoyed.

Beautifully restored house in quiet location

Lovely old building restored to very high quality. The south facing garden area was a delight. So quiet, restful and comfortable. The outhouse was a delight to sit in out of the sun. The local pub did nice food and was only a few steps away.

Another wonderful stay

This was our second visit to Nantuat Stables (which speaks for itself), and it didn’t disappoint. It is an absolutely beautiful property, equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable and relaxing holiday (we were a party of 6, spanning 3 generations ranging from 9 to nearly 80). It is situated in beautiful, peaceful countryside with a great pub on your doorstep serving fantastic food, with the convenience of being less than 10 minutes to several lovely beaches, and other major attractions nearby. Sue is a welcoming and helpful host and I couldn’t recommend this property more.

Spacious cottage, great base for Cornwall adventures

A most comfortable stay at Nanuat Stables. Briefly met the owners on arrival for a quick tour of the basics. The cottage is finished to a high spec and has everything you'll need Lots of space for our multigenerational group in a safe village. Sunny garden to have food / drinks / play in. The area has a busy pub just opposite and then close to Heligan, Mevagissey, St Austell for more to do. Lots of local beaches to explore and we just scratched the surface in our 4 days there. Would recommend for anyone thinking of visiting the area!

A beautiful, peaceful home away from home.

We have just returned from a wonderful week staying in Nantuat Stables. Our party consisted of three generations; Grandparents in their 70’s, myself and my husband and our two children aged 11 and 8. The property is absolutely gorgeous and beautifully decorated throughout with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. We are all going to miss the wonderful showers and the huge relaxing bathtub with the most wonderful views! Sue was a very welcoming, friendly host, she was very prompt to answer any questions I had prior to arrival and was on hand during our stay to answer questions and give helpful advice. Our children fell in love with her gorgeous dog and wanted to bring her home. The house is situated in a small, quiet village, surrounded by beautiful countryside, views of which can be appreciated from many of the windows in the house), and there is a wonderful pub just metres from the front door serving fabulous food. We ate there on our first and last nights and were warmly greeted on both occasions. The house has a large kitchen with a range cooker if you don’t want to go out to eat, and we also took advantage of using the garden and lovely BBQ/picnic area. You are ideally situated for many attractions and beautiful beaches; the Lost Gardens of Heligan are just a couple of minutes up the road, and the beaches of Carne, Pendower and Pentewan to name just a few are only a 15-20 minute drive away, as is the lovely seaside village of Gorran Haven where we had the best fish and chips ever! You are also very close to Mevagissey, as well as St Austell where you can find the major supermarkets and petrol stations. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing break with home comforts.

Felt like home!

This property is by far one of the best rentals we ever had. The location is close by the lost gardens of heligan, which makes it a perfect centre for all possible adventures. The beautiful kitchen was well equipped and invites you to cook. I can really recommend to stay at this propery.

A Gorgeous Property… An Exceptional Experience

The Stables was our base of operations for our stay in Cornwall and it was an outstanding experience for our entire party. The appointments were excellent and the interior was spacious and clean. The rooms were comfortable and well laid out so that we were able to relax and enjoy the hours spent not on the go. The location was perfect for exploring Cornwall, from Tintagel to St. Ives and beyond. The local pub was a stones throw from the cottage door and the local experience was fantastic. The garden was perfect for cooking out and spending the evening in a lovely space with friends and family. We all highly recommend the property and will look back fondly on our stay.

Fantastisch verblijf in Nantuat Stables in St.Ewe

B. The Lost Gardens of Heligan - unbedingt ansehen). Vielen Dank für diesen schönen Urlaub!

About the host

Hosted by sue hawken

Host profile image
Sue has lived in St Ewe for over 20 years so has great local knowledge. Both her properties have great information about places to visit and great restaurants. Sue will meet you and show you round the house to ensure you have a stress free holiday.

Why they chose this property

St Ewe is an unspoiled and quiet village close to some of Cornwall's prettiest villages and the beautiful Cornish South Coast. Spend your days discovering and exploring the villages of The Roseland Peninsula, spotting ponies on the coast path or watching the fishing boats in Mevagissey Harbour. Garden enthusiasts are spoiled for choice with The Lost Gardens of Heligan just round the corner, Caerhayes Gardens down the road, and then there is The Eden Project. The Stables are a short walk from the excellent village pub, so if you want a break from cooking you can always eat there.

What makes this property unique

The cottage is in the middle of a traditional Cornish village. With views over farmland, a pretty church and a great local pub, St Ewe is a welcoming and beautiful base for your holidays. St Ewe was home for many of the original gardeners at the Lost Gardens of Heligan, just up the road.
