Monastery 17 is a beautiful top floor apartment , overlooking Loch Ness , just perfect for monster spotting
Sleeps up to 7 with 2 bedrooms , a sofa bed in the lounge and a fold out chair with 2 bathrooms , All linen included

The main bathroom is the star of the show , As you can bath overlooking Loch Ness , it has the largest window on site for the most spectacular view . Simply Breathtaking

There is also free wi-fi and BT Vision in the apartment with Netflix films

The Kitchen is very compact but has everything you should need, including a cooker & hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer etc.

Not great, but location was what we needed.

While the building and surroundings were so cool and beautiful the actual sleeping unit was disappointing. The beds/matresses are super uncomfortable and not clean. The pull out couch was broken and dirty. The linens were not clean and had staines. Would not stay again.

Fantastic with a capital F

Incredibly impressive building and setting. The apartment itself is awesome. Everything that you need is provided. The views of Loch Ness are fabulous but the view from the bathroom is amazing. This apartment definitely has the wow factor and we were blown away by the whole experience. Very highly recommended

Superb apartment and location

A very clean, bright and beautifully located property. You need to walk up a few flights of stairs to get to the apartment but the view from the windows is well worth it. Excellent communication from the owner. A superb, place, we are looking forward to returning in the future.

Awesome place, great staff

You won’t regret staying here, we were extremely late checking in due to charging points being manic over the Christmas period however we were still able to check in thanks to the member of staff who stayed up especially for us to let us in. Really thankful for that after a 9 hour drive! The apartment is incredible and location perfect. You’ll enjoy your stay here guaranteed. Local pubs a must too.

Beautiful apartment in stunning location

We had an amazing few days in Fort Augustus and got to explore all around Loch ness and Inverness. The apartment was beautiful with stunning views over the Loch. Kids loved using the pool and we even managed to get some time in the sauna. Would 100% recommend

Monastery 17

Me and my family stayed in monastery 17 at the highland club in Fort Augustus. The accommodation was excellent and didn’t need anything. Everything was easy to use. The views were amazing with an amazing bath!!!. It was also just a couple of minutes from the town centre. Will go again. 👍

Stunning location in need of TLC

The Abbey Boat House is stunning location with great facilities but M17 was frankly a little tired, nothing wrong with the amenities provided (although the TV is a challenge) but the joints are opening up on many of the the walls, which are in need of a lick of paint, making the place look scruffier than it is should. Also, the bedrooms are in real need of black out curtains, being woken at dawn on holiday is not my idea of a relaxing break.

Fantastic trip

The apartment was great with stunning views across Loch Ness especially from the bathroom. The monastery itself has been converted to a fantastic facility with its swimming pool, sauna, games room and plenty to keep the kids occupied outside also.

Stunning property in an amazing location.

Really enjoyed our break in Fort Augustus, the drive up from the central belt on the A82 was absolutely stunning. The building is very atmospheric abs our apartment at the top of the building was perfectly equipped. Pool was great as was the lounge/games area. Would be brilliant in the summer for kayaking on the loch etc. checking was perfect.

Amazing Location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location and views can't be beat. It's a short walk in to town where you can view the locks, shop and find cozy little restaurants. This property made for a very memorable first trip to the Highlands!

Stunning location

We had such a wonderful time here. The apartment was warm, well furnished, clean and spacious and met all of our needs. The views absolutely breathtaking - well worth enduring the stairs for. The swimming pool was a nice retreat after a day of sightseeing the local area. We felt truly blessed to have been able to stay here and will definitely be back again. The only thing that was missing was a Christmas tree which would have been the magical touch but otherwise it was perfect.

Wonderful apartment in an amazing location

This is a stunning apartment in the most amazing location. It really has the wow factor. From the welcome information emailed in advance, to the welcome from the concierge on arrival, the welcome pack in the apartment, the facilities and location it is difficult to find fault with this apartment. It is large and airy, comfortable, spotlessly clean, lovely furniture, free WiFi and stunning bathroom overlooking the Loch. Once we unloaded the car we didn't use it again until we left, there was so much to do. Lovely walks around the Loch and canal, boat trips, swimming in the pool, playing tennis, playing giant chess, using the communal lounge. There is so much to do! We ate at two restaurants, the highlight being the boathouse. While icecream in the village was amazing! The only downside was the location of the apartment on the second floor with no lift. Getting bags and belongings up the stairs was difficult and we had to do multiple trips. The stairs were hard even without carrying stuff!

Brilliant Apartment in a Fascinating Old Building

The apartment is in a lovely old building. Walking through the cloisters to our apartment was rather special. It is on the third floor and there is no lift. We knew this and it wasn't a problem. However, the height meant we had lovely views especially of Loch Ness from the claw-foot bath! The layout of the apartment was perfect. The kitchen, in the lounge-diner, was good. TV was excellent. The complex had good facilities. We enjoyed a game of croquet on the lawn. The gym was small but reasonably equipped. We had a niggle because the complex introduced a per person use of the pool due to Covid. Altogether, a brilliant apartment. We'd have no hesitation staying there again.

Pretty much perfect

Apartment 17 the Monastry - What a find! Amazing location, amazing building, and wonderful apartment. It’s a cliche but the pictures don’t do it justice - the apartment is much bigger than appears in the pictures with all rooms very good size and a very generous master suite with wardrobe and en-suite. Main bathroom is also very large to serve the second bedroom and includes the fab roll top bath overlooking the Loch. Kitchen is well appointed and has pretty much everything you could need (in fact I’m not sure we missed having anything). All in all a home away from home plus the addition of the stunning locale. Out and about the village has everything you need. Small supermarket in the village to top up on bits and bobs, plus very good butchers. 4 or 5 restaurants around the lochs (5 mins walk from your door at most) - we tried 3 and found the Bothy to be most interesting. Didn’t think much of the lock Inn, the boathouse is getting terrible reviews, and the cafe place on other side of the river is pizzas/kebabs and the like - very acceptable if you want that. Trips out and walks all fantastic - so all in all totally memorable holiday and the accommodation was without fault
