Relaxing stay in a beautiful location

This is a lovely cottage with everything you could need for a relaxing stay. The walk to the beach is about 15 mins but can be quite wet so wellies would be ideal! Worth it though as I saw an otter catch and eat a fish - wonderful! We also saw a red squirrell and plenty of deer. Had a lovely walk from Tarbert Castle with amazing views of the bay. Great holiday and would love to return some time. catch and eat a fisb

Secluded & Private location

The property is situated about 9 miles outside of Tarbert, 8 miles of which are single & twisty lanes so take everything food wise because you’re not just popping back to the shops…once you pull on to the lovely long driveway you’re greeted by a real handsome property with a stunning backdrop that is pretty much open to you to use. The house is spotless, very well equipped, warm, new carpets, could really do with at least another sofa as currently it has a two seater and an arm chair so our family of 4 one of us ended up sitting at the dining room table which wasn’t ideal and it’s our only criticism…The wee beach hut is a lovely 20 minute walk away and it’s well worth the pleasant walk to the coast to see it, again fully equipped with bbq stuff, seats, towels and so on. The bathroom & kitchen are spotless and the bedroom sizes are excellent both with wardrobes and plenty of hanging…the real question is would l go again??? Absolutely Yes!

Fabulous location

We loved our stay. The property is very well equipped with everything you would need and more. The cottage is very comfortable and the view is stunning. The private beach is just a lovely bonus and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The cottage is very traditional in decor but we didnt mind as it was such a lovely location with lots of space. We would definitely stay again.

Barr na Criche cottage

Excellent cottage in lovely quiet location. Beautifully clean with super comfy beds. Everything you need is supplied. Only slight negative are the old heaters and outdated kitchen equipment eg toaster & cooker ( but all work fine). Amanda & Peter have provided a folder full of ideas for things to see and do, local maps etc. Ideal base for the Kintyre area.

Quiet Getaway

Fantastic place to stay for a complete chill out. wildlife was very to watch and seeing the red squirrel running about was fantastic. Every thing you need for you stay was provided, if i was to moan about anything it would be a bigger tv and better seating in the room as two adults and two teenagers would struggle to sit comfy all night. would return again

End of Summer Holiday

We had a lovely time at Barr na Criche Cottage. The setting was absolutely idyllic and just what we were after in terms of peace and quiet. The cottage itself was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a week long stay. Amanda and Peter were excellent hosts. Communication was good and accessing the property was straight forward. The location is ideal for exploring Kintyre, but also for just staying put and enjoying the tranquility and natural beauty of the setting. It's a very pleasant walk down to the beach hut on the shore of West Loch Tarbert. The weather during our stay didn't allow us to make the most of this little gem but I imagine it's absolutely wonderful for families on sunny/hot days. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and very much hope to return in the future. Thank you Amanda and Peter!

A gem on the West coast of Argyll

Lovely, comfortable property in a beautiful secluded location. The walk down to the beach-hut is well worth the effort. Ideally suited for those who either want to stay put and relax or get out and about and explore Argyll and Kintyre. For those that do go exploring, you will be greeted with an abundance of wildlife, beaches and coastline that are difficult to beat, picture-book harbour towns and the very friendliest of people.

Lovely cottage, great location and helpful, friendly host

This is a great cottage if you want to 'get away from it all'. Spacious accommodation for 4, ideal for a family of two adults and two children. Good kitchen. Great views over the bay and miles of open countryside to explore. Make sure you take plenty of groceries with you, there is a decent size fridge freezer in the cottage and part of the attraction is that it's deep within the countryside off the beaten track. We would happily stay again.
