Luxury Villa Poggio Secco is located in a fairy-tale setting among the gentle hillsides just south of Florence.
The property is set on a large plot of beauty and peace, making this villa the perfect location for several couples or an extended family seeking a holiday in close proximity to Florence. The location could not be better, set on an idyllic hillside just 15 minutes (8 km) from Florence. This elegant country house is within an hour's drive of all of the beautiful hill towns and vineyards in the Chianti area.The villa offers easy access to both the center of Florence and the Chianti region, so you can alternate trips to the Uffizi and the Duomo with excursions to the countryside of Tuscany.
The closest village, Grassina is at 3km away from the property. This town has several bars, grocery shops, bakery, butcher, and a hairdresser.
Riding and a golf facilities are available at 4 km. from the house.
A short unpaved road (200 m) leads to the farmhouse, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.
The house has been fully restored last year and the attention to detail and beauty is remarkable.
We have a large private garden with a large patio overlooking the Tuscan country side. You can enjoy sipping a glass of Chianti while barbecuing some Tuscan stake. The house is furnished with original 18th century furniture.

Villa Poggio Secco boost some beautiful tiled floors and beamed ceilings, and is divided into two floors.
The 3 double bedrooms all with a double beds are located on the ground floor.
Plus an extra mezzanine with a private bathroom and luxury sofabed is located upstairs.
Air conditioning system and underfloor heating available in the whole property.

Ideally located for Florence and the Chianti region

The property was ideal for the 4 of us. It was in very good condition and was lacking nothing. There is a lovely small garden for your use with an outside fixed BBQ. The hosts sister lives next door and was very helpful in recommending places to eat, to visit or best method for getting into Florence. Be aware that the roads in the area are narrow.

Lovely home from home

What’s not to like! Lovely spacious villa in the hills south of Florence in a very attractive location, with everything you need. The host, David, responded promptly and was most courteous and kind. The host’s sister lives next door and is a great support in sorting any problems and helping you find what you want, with advice on shopping, where to park for visits to Florence and local walks amongst other things. The patio and garden at the back was a great spot for eating breakfast and lounging in the sunshine. We would definitely stay here again if visiting the area. Highly recommend.

Business Trip in Florence Area

This is not the first trip that i and my business colleagues have traveled to Italy and used a VRBO as our choice of lodging in fact it is our preference! This beautiful home was exceptional. It was beautifully appointed. So comfortable. Overlooking the city! It was everything we needed and expected it to be. The terrace was exceptional! David was a consummate host. We will be back. I actually read reviews on the property that the roads were too steep to drive a SUV. We didn’t find it like that. Yes. We were on top of a beautiful mountain and the roads are more narrow than the highway but we simply took it slower so not to run into other traffic and it was fine. We loved it. David. Thank you for arranging for a lovely stay.

Beautifully Tuscany Villa

The villa is a really good place to stay. Not far away from Florence but still in a very quiet place. The garden as well as the well equipped kitchen are just amazing. The communication with David was really good. He took care of every question very quickly. I would always come back to this nice place, thanks for the good time.

Great stay

We had a great time at David`s property, the property is luxurious and spacious., making it a perfect base to explore tuscany for our group of six. The communication with David has been smooth and he went out of his way to ensure our stay is as enjoyable as possible. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone who wants to look for a luxury retreat in the heart of beautiful tuscany.

Lovely Villa In the Hills over Florence

Location of the Villa is great albeit access roads are tight if you have a large people carrier. The accommodation was excellent plenty of room for the 6 of us on our family holiday .Only one small point the Garden Furniture is old and has some damage . Apart from that would recommend the Villa

Amazing 2 weeks in a beautiful villa- August 2017

Me and my partner have just come back from a 2 week stay at this villa with our friends . Would highly recommend staying here , the villa is amazing , spacious but cosy , modern but traditional at the same time. The garden is huge and the views are amazing! Very quiet and relaxing but also 15-20 min drive into Florence if you fancy getting out and about. Would definitely visit and stay here again. David the owner and Dina who lives next door to the villa are also very helpful with any queries and happy to help. Thank you for an amazing holiday Katie & Dan

The most amazing holiday in beautiful florence!

What a great villa! Only 15 minutes drive from the centre of Florence. This villa has everything you need for an amazing holiday. This was our first visit to this amazing part of italy. We had some amazing dinners on the outside patio in the evenings. Our 3 children age 4,6 and 8 had a great time running around in the huge back garden. The villa was luxurious and well located. The villa was extremely safe and well designed for children and families. The mezzanine has an amazing see through glass like the pictures. We went for some amazing walks in the surrounding area. I can't reccomend this place enough.

A spacious and comfortable home set on a beautiful hillside south of Florence.

The villa is situated near to the Firenze Sud (Florence South) entrance to the Autostrade (Italian Motorway). This made it an ideal base for day trips to Pisa, Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano, Cortona and other places of interest in the Tuscan region which we enjoyed visiting very much. Although shops are not in walking distance, there are lots of restaurants and supermarkets a short car ride away. The villa itself is very spacious with comfortable sofas and beds, a modern kitchen and a lovely garden. David, the owner, kept us well informed by e-mail prior to the stay and welcomed us by phone and through an English speaking friend of his in the area. We enjoyed excellent meals at local restaurants recommended by Trip Advisor and ate at the villa from time to time after shopping in the local supermarkets and excellent delicatessens.

A wonderful Tuscan retreat

We spent a week at the beginning of August in this beautiful villa. Temperatures outside were heatwave hot so we were really appreciative of the air conditioning. That and the super comfortable mattresses made sure that we all slept well, ready for the day ahead. From our first enquiry all the way through our stay, David and his team made sure that we were well taken care of. The villa is exactly as depicted in the photos but it's the little touches that you don't see; the mosquito netting on door and windows meant that bites were kept to a minimum (but come prepared with sprays and cream anyway). The furnishings are stylish and comfortable and the location is breathtaking; the views from the well kept garden are truely Tuscan. Location wise the villa is ideally placed to get to Florence and other areas and even during the height of the summer the roads are manageable. We had a lovely holiday and would recommend the villa wholeheartedly.

Great location and even better view

How can you put into words our first holiday in Florence. The villa was simply incredible! The orthopaedic mattresses were simply exceptional it was like sleeping on a cloud. We loved barbecuing in the evenings while sipping a glas of chianti. Florence was only 20 minutes drive from the villa. The roads a really easy and not as difficult as in other parts of Tuscany. Even my wife that had only been driving for a few months had no issues driving. Will definitely go back!!!

Absolutely amazing experience

This was my first time in Italy, I absolutely loved this amazing villa. The views from the villa were great. Delfina arranged for an amazing dinner and cooking class. It was great to drive into the centre of Florence from the house. The roads were beautiful and full of character. We had a large car and had no problems driving around. Will defenetly coming back:)

Absolutely stunning villa

This villa is the most luxurious place I have ever stayed in. The views from the private garden are amazing. 20 minutes from Florence centre makes it the perfect place to explore Florence and Tuscany. What I enjoyed the most was driving up the roads to get to the villa. The views were great! The villa is packed with luxury appliances. Will come back for sure:)!

Beautiful Villa in the heart of Florence

We spent 5 days here in September 2016 and would highly recommend this villa to anyone wanting to visit this beautiful region. When we arrived we were welcomed into the villa and shown around...the villa looked just like the photographs...beautiful setting...very clean....lovely decoration and all mod cons. All three bedrooms were a good size with ample storage space and the kitchen was well equipped. There was also a lovely garden and patio area which we enjoyed thoroughly especially our 2 year old daughter. Central Florence was only a 15/20 minute drive away which made it a very convenient location. All in all we would highly recommend this villa to families wanting to stay close to central Florence and would happily stay here again in the future.

Beautiful & tranquil location

I hadn't used Owners Direct before & was a little apprehensive, but David in the UK answered phone queries within minutes, and Delfina in Italy was always on the other end of the phone with ideas of places to visit, and practical information such as how to park for free near Florence. The area is beautiful and the house is as advertised, clean, & comfy. The nearby town of Grassina has a great pizza takeaway called PizzO & the Gelateria Elisir makes the very best (and cheapest) ice-cream we tasted during our fortnight in Italy. This house made a great base for us whilst we explored the region.

Fabulous!!!

Myself and 3 other friends stayed here for 3 nights. it was absolutely stunning, better than the photos, believe it or not.. They also helped arrange a surprise birthday dinner for my friend...it was delicious! Definitely going back!

Beautiful villa in a scenic rural location

We spent 5 nights in this beautiful villa in the countryside, close to Florence but far enough away to be relaxing. There are beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside from every window. Beautiful back garden with BBQ and outdoor seating where you can sit and admire the views. There were 4 adults and 4 children in our party and there was plenty of space for us all. The villa was very clean with a well equipped kitchen and big bathroom. Very comfortable beds with lovely linens. David and his family were very helpful and accommodating, even organising to post back my young daughters favourite soft toy we left behind. We had a great meal one evening in the cute local village of Grassina at Pizzeria Jimmy.
