Local Area
Aberfforest Beach is a beautiful sandy beach located near the village of Dinas Cross in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It is known for its picturesque surroundings, clear blue waters, and scenic coastal walks. Here is some general information about Aberfforest Beach:
Aberfforest Beach is situated in Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, near the towns of Newport and Fishguard in southwest Wales.
Features and Activities:
Sandy Beach: Aberfforest Beach is a sandy beach, making it an ideal spot for sunbathing, picnicking, and building sandcastles.
Coastal Walks: The beach is surrounded by scenic coastal paths, offering excellent opportunities for hiking and enjoying panoramic views of the sea.
Rock Pools: At low tide, the beach reveals rock pools where visitors can explore and discover various marine life.
Wildlife: The area is rich in wildlife, and you might spot seabirds, dolphins, and seals along the coastline.
Secluded Atmosphere: Aberfforest Beach is relatively secluded, making it a peaceful destination away from crowds.
Local Facilities:
Please note that there might not be extensive facilities directly on the beach, so it's a good idea to bring essentials such as water, snacks, and sunscreen. Nearby towns like Newport and Fishguard likely have amenities such as restaurants, cafes, and public toilets.
Getting there
Leave Fishguard heading for Cardigan on the A487. Drive through Dinas Cross. A few hundred yards after the Freemason’s Arms the road goes down into a dip. As you come up out of this, you will see a farm lane on the left, turning in towards the sea signposted Fforest Farm and Aberfforest Marine.
Please be careful, especially if driving a low profile car as it is rough in places and there are speed bumps. Also sometimes farm machinery. After driving through the farmyard the road goes downhill. Fforest Cottage is straight ahead on a right-angle bend.
There is plenty of room to park inside. We suggest keeping the gate shut to avoid marauding cows and horses.
