Most excellent stay

We loved staying in the Kingfisher lodge, it was like stepping into someone’s beautiful home, it was luxurious, comfortable the bathrooms for each bedroom were just so nice. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook up a birthday treat & to sit down at the table to enjoy it with the most magnificent views, then a dip in the spa on the deck to watch the sunset was amazing. Many thanks to the owners for the birthday cake & Prosecco which we enjoyed immensely, we didn’t want to leave.

Birthday stay

We stayed here for my boyfriend’s birthday at the beginning of November for a long weekend. The place was very tidy and clean. Everything had been thought of and included, including dressing gowns for the hot tub and spare towels to dry off our dogs. Close walk to the little local village which has a lovely indian. Overall, we had an amazing weekend and would definitely return!

Immaculate lodges

The lodge was immaculate and perfect for a relaxing weekend away. The location is stunning. We have stayed previously, but in a different lodge and the high standard was consistent across both. The finishing touches like the milk, Prosecco and cake were a delight. We would highly recommend! Our only complaint would be communication, I sent emails before and after our stay that weren’t replied to, nor was my WhatsApp message acknowledged. A real shame as this wasn’t our experience last time. Finally just a suggestion that more of the rooms can be converted in to twin beds if desired.

Wonderful place to stay

Beautiful and homely accommodation in a beautiful location. The lodge is in immaculate condition with everything you need for a fantastic break. Fully equipped with all you need. Hosts Barry and Jo could not do enough. We had a couple of minor niggles on arrival (such as me pulling the door handle off) and they responded to messages in minutes and sent people over to fix the issues immediately. Absolutely fabulous stay, thank you Barry and Jo.

Outstanding accommodation & break away

This accommodation was outstanding. Such a lovely place with high quality bedding, towels and lush shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand wash. The hot tub made it extra special being able to be outside on the lake with a bottle of fizz (even supplied that!!) Great place for a girlie trip or suitable for families and or couples. Not far from anything and a lot of places locally to visit

Loved this accommodation

Fabulous stay at kingfisher lodge. Everything spotlessly clean on arrival. Everything we needed was supplied, good quality oven and microwave, plenty of glasses, cutlery, kitchenware. Bedrooms, bathrooms were excellent. Couldn’t fault anything, will definitely be happy to stay again. Would highly recommended it to friends and family

A Welcome Break

What a lovely lodge to stay in. It had everything you needed and more. The owners have thought of everything, even down to a mirror with a close up view so you can put your make-up on. Plus a welcome cake.

We are Barry and Jo and we have an amazing collection of Cotswold holiday lodges on Cotswold Water Park near the old Roman town of Cirencester with most of them dog friendly.
We’ve been coming to this beautiful area for many years and about 5 years ago we decided to make the move permanent. We set up our company in 2018, starting with our own holiday home on Windrush lake but as you can see from our portfolio now, we have grown quite considerably! We love to travel and just before the “you know what pandemic” we spent 12 months travelling around the world ending up in New Zealand for Christmas and New Year and then working our way up to Hawaii and North, Central and South America. We think we know what it takes to get a place right for our fantastic guests but we are always learning!

We couldn’t do this without our fantastic team which is growing year by year. Unlike many of the larger companies selling holiday lets we, and our team, know all of our properties intimately because we provide the full service from cleaning and hosting through to managing the hot tubs, the plants on the decking and even window cleaning! Jo, Adele and Meg are the last ones to visit your holiday lodge just before you get there to make sure the place is perfect for your stay – you may even bump into one of them on your way in!

Why they chose this property

Or maybe you just want to spend the time relaxing in and around the lodge and hot tub. Cotswold Water Park Retreats is the place from which to base yourself.
The Cotswolds is a great place to visit – it combines chocolate box charm with attractive Cotswold stone properties. It really does have something for everyone – see our Local Area page and ‘like’ our Facebook page for more ideas of places to visit and things to do plus special offers
