About this property

Jackdaw Cottage - Two Bedroom House, Sleeps 4

Brimming with luxe, old-meets-new style, this high-quality property is an ideal base for couples, friends or small families to relax and recharge just 1.5 miles from Skipton, renowned as the ‘Gateway to the Dales’. Visit Skipton Castle, a medieval stronghold that sits just a few metres from the bustling high street below, where you’ll find historic buildings, cobbled streets, intriguing shops and friendly cafes. Stroll by the canal or take a boat trip, or even book a once-in-a-lifetime hot-air balloon ride above this designated national landscape. From the host village of Embsay, you can hop on a stream train for a 3.5-mile ride to Bolton Abbey, drive out to Malham Cove (14 miles) with its incredible waterfall, or discover the charming villages of Grassington, Kettlewell and Burnsall (all within 15 miles).
Take the steps to the raised front door of this terraced period house. Through the entrance hall you’ll enter the lounge, with its atmospheric dark walls, wooden floor and stone fireplace with an inset wood burner. This is a cosy room where you can lounge to your heart’s content, perhaps with a book or streaming a show on the Smart TV. From the window you can also watch the jackdaws roosting in the chimney across the road – giving the property its name. The dining room is another stylish space, designed for leisurely mealtimes discussing your day’s adventures, leading to the well-appointed kitchen where the cook will find everything necessary for prepping delicious meals, including a microwave and a dishwasher. When you’re starting to yawn, head upstairs to find two beautifully decorated bedrooms served by a well-appointed family bathroom. These bedrooms include a sumptuous master king-size and an inviting double room. If you’re bringing an extra child, then a fold-out bed is available in the office that completes the interior of this gorgeous home.
For a dose of fresh Yorkshire air, from a morning coffee to an evening BBQ, the enclosed and furnished patio area at the back of the cottage is ready and waiting. Parking for this property is on the street, subject to availability.
