About this property
Charming Cottage in Pembrokeshire Coast National Park 8 minutes from the beach
The Cart House is a charming farm cottage near the coast, with stunning mountain views. Enjoy peace and quiet in an unspoilt landscape, yet just a short walk from the historic village of Nevern, with its ancient church and traditional pub. Nearby Newport has great cafes, restaurants and galleries and is only a 5 minute drive away, as is the world famous Pembrokeshire coast path. Sandy beaches, secluded coves, woodland and mountain walks are all within easy reach. A perfect retreat for a couple wanting to get away from it all.
The cottage is stylishly furnished and thoughtfully equipped, so you can make the most of your stay in beautiful North Pembrokeshire. It's an interesting 'upside down' cottage, with the open plan kitchen and living room on the first floor and the bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor, along with a small utility area. Both floors have doors leading to the private patio where you will find a table and chairs, and an array of potted plants - perfect for al fresco eating or just star gazing. A gate through the field opens onto the garden with a lawn and flowers. There are fabulous views across the fields and towards Mynydd Carningli, which translates from Welsh as Mountain of Angels. The cottage has a wood burning stove for cosy evenings in by the fire, with electric heating throughout. We provide bed all bed linen and towels and the comfortable double bed has a feather duvet and pillows and crisp cotton sheets (non feather substitutes are available for allergy sufferers, please ask if you would prefer us to change the duvet and pillows).
The cottage is on a farm, in a very quiet and peaceful part of Pembrokeshire. Alice is also an artist and has a small studio and gallery in the farmhouse. The whole cottage, patio and private garden are available for the exclusive use of guests and there is ample parking.
We live in the farmhouse across the yard from the cottage and we are usually around to welcome you in, but then we are happy to leave you to enjoy the place in peace and quiet! However we are usually on hand if you need anything, or would like to know more about the area. For those who enjoy exploring, there is hiking, wild swimming, boat trips to remote islands, water sports, bird watching and historic buildings and Neolithic sites to visit, all within easy reach.
We very much look forward to meeting you and hope you will enjoy this magical corner of the world.
