We had a lovely stay at Maison de Campagne. Jerome and Veronique met us on arrival and were lovely hosts. On the first morning we were left bread and pastries, and along with fresh orange juice left in the fridge, we had a delicious breakfast. The cottage was beautifully clean, warm and comfortable with all the equipment we needed. We found the location excellent for touring the sights of Normandy; we had a particular interest in seeing the WW2 sites such as Pégasus Bridge, the beaches, Longues-sur-Mer battery and Pointe de Hoc and it was easy to access these. We also spent a day in Bayeux to see the Tapestry and take in the sights. We were only a 5 minute drive from a local boulangerie for fresh bread every day and there is a large Carrefour less than 10 minutes driving away to stock up on provisions. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others. Hopefully we will be back at some point! Thank you Jerome and Veronique.
Very pleased with the accommodation. Clean and well equipped. Large garden for children to play safely in and not annoy any neighbours. Owners communicated well and although live next door not intrusive, but felt if anything was needed they would be more than willing to help. We enjoyed the location in this quiet hamlet, but only minutes by car to bakery and supermarket.
Only a short distance to Bayeux (5 minutes drive), but very secluded and peaceful.
Easy access to all the main places of interest in the area.
The cottage had all we needed to make our stay comfortable, with all of the rooms being a decent size for their purpose.
Would recommend the cottage and the owners, who provided us with pastries and french stick the first morning, to anyone wanting to visit the area
We enjoyed our peaceful stay for 4 nights exploring the D Day landing sites of Normandy. The property was clean, hosts were welcoming and it was extremely well equipped to a high standard with anything you may need during your stay. We particularly enjoyed the log burning fire and Jerome kindly provided more firewood when needed. We also appreciated the bread, pastries, coffee and orange juice provided by the hosts.
Truly exceptional property in a wonderful location
Fantastic ,spotlessly clean, well-appointed house in a beautiful, peaceful, rural location about 4km from Bayeux and a 10 min drive from Arromanches.
A warm welcome awaits all who stay here.
Lovely touches from host Jérôme - provisions in the fridge when we arrived, thoughtful patisserie delivery on the first morning whilst we were still getting to know the area.
A lot of thought has gone into making this place a home-from-home; it’s a cool old place which has been renovated to a high standard with bags of style. It was warm when we were there, but the thick stone walls kept us nice and cool and I bet it’s really snug in the winter.
The kitchen is incredibly well-appointed and served us well for our breakfasts (Norman bacon is a must-try if you’re that way inclined) but we chose to eat out every night in nearby Bayeux which is a gastronomic delight. One of Jérôme’s recommendations “La Rapiere” became a go-to not just because of the food which was sublime, but because of the welcome afforded by proprietors Linda and Simon.
We’ll all be back - Normandie is beautiful and welcoming, but our home while we were there was the star of the show.
We loved staying here. The house was well equipped and had plenty of space for us. The location is excellent for exploring the area. Jerome was an excellent host - communication was really good and we really enjoyed the pastries!
Stayed for a week and found the home to be very peaceful and quiet. Beds were very comfortable which was important after a long day. Hosts were lovely.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Perfect location, close to beautiful Bayeux and the landing beaches and supermarket close by, but really peaceful too. The house itself is very clean and comfortable with a beautiful garden. The hosts were very welcoming and the fresh pastries and bread on our first morning were very welcome. All in all we had a great week and would recommend this property and location.
A very comfortable house for our extended family. .Our hosts were very helpful. Good house for people with limited mobility . Great for DDay beaches and culture. We would go back very happily.
Lovely house with large garden overlooking fields. Very clean. Ideal location for visiting the many interesting sites in Normandy and within easy reach of Bayeux. Large supermarket nearby. We very much enjoyed our stay here.
Excellent property out in the countryside, but convenient for supermarket and boulangerie in Bayeux. Very comfortable house, well equipped, huge garden, easy parking, very quiet and peaceful.
Jérôme is the perfect host and the property is perfectly located. We had a fantastic stay at this property. Perfectly situated for the D-day beaches, trips to Honfleur and Bayeux.
With a Carrefour nearby and a patisserie very close we needed for nothing. We look forward to another visit very soon.
We have stayed in several properties in Normandy and this is the best one yet. The house is modern, clean and has everything you need. The location is great for exploring the area.
We really enjoyed a great stay in this house. The hosts were discreet but there If we needed them and the house was perfect for our family of three generations. Great location for Bayeux and d day beaches.

Beautiful gite, helpful hosts and superb location
We had a superb holiday staying at Maison de Campagne. We were greeted by Jerome and Veronique on our arrival who showed us around the impressively modern gite. As a family of 6 (4 adults and 2 children) we had lots of space inside and out. We found the beds to be comfortable and each room had adequate storage. We found the hosts to be most welcoming and helpful, leaving lovely treats for breakfast on our first morning and they were very responsive if we needed anything. The location was perfect for us. Having holidayed in France many times previously, this property ticked all our boxes: 10 mins drive from Bayeaux; very close to the Normandy Beaches; close to WW2 museums and places of interest; perfect for bike rides and for running (road and trail). We also enjoyed trips to Falaise castle and Champrepus Zoo which the children thoroughly enjoyed. And we have discovered the Holy Grail of ice cream at the Haizerie ice cream shop/ Farm (about a mile away). We voted their’s to be the best ice cream in the world!! All in all, a great holiday.
We would love to return to the gite and Vaux-sur-Aure.

Amazing location and great property with all the amenities of a large home.
Jerome met us upon arrival and check in was exceptionally easy. We had a great first night and a pleasant morning surprise of pastries and baguettes compliments of our host. We truly enjoyed our stay - there was plenty of room for 3 couples and 3 kids. The house had all the requisite necessities to self-cater and we were very close to most of Normandy’s sights. Tucked back off a main are, the home has lovely country views but modern amenities. Would highly recommend to any family interested.

A modernised farmhouse with everything you need for a relaxing break.
I booked for a week as a base to visit the WW2 sites and the Bayeux tapestry for the grandparents, the farmhouse accommodated 5 adults and our 11yr old son but still allowing us all the space required to be able to relax. It is only a 10 min car run to Bayeux with a fantastic cathedral and eateries, there is also a carrefour for you to stock up everything you need.
Jérôme and Véronique were very accommodating especially when we took a wrong turn trying to find the place, after a quick phone call and broken french Jerome came to find us to guide us in, the baguettes and pastry's with a note attached to the door was a lovely touch.
There is plenty to see not to far away and the weather was great, the garden is well laid out to relax and sip wine whilst enjoying the rays but still private.
We all enjoyed ourselves even with the age difference and will definitely be back as a lot more to see.

Great place to stay, ideal location for beaches and local towns.
Property was excellent and reasonable equipped could have done with few more large mugs and micro waveable dishes. Hosts were great leaving bread and eats on the first morning. .

Well equipped, comfortable and stylish - the property is as shown on the website.
A few minutes from Bayeux, and a short drive to the landing beaches.
Jerome and Veronique were friendly and helpful. We had a puncture, which Jerome went out of his way to help sort.
Strongly recommended!

Wonderful half term break
What a fantastic house! Jerome and Veronique went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. Arriving late on Sunday we got lost - directions are not my thing! - and we called Jerome who came straight out to meet us and take us to the house. The house offered everything we were looking for - near to the Normandy beaches, great room sizes and modern fittings. Jerome left us wood for the fire and some wonderful cider in the fridge. Later in the week we woke up to find pastries and bread at our front door for breakfast - who could ask for more. There were 8 people in our party and the house accommodated us brilliantly. We would highly recommend and would definitely return.
