Great location

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Jual. Very convenient location, closed to beautiful beaches, small villages such as Vejer and also close to Cádiz. The house is well equipped, everything working. We spent most of the days visiting places and it was great to come back and enjoy a swim in the pool and take dinner outside. Totally recommended, we will come back again 🙂.

Great location

Julie has been good at communicating with us. The villa is easy to find and in a quiet location, although close enough to walk to a restaurant and small supermarket. We even walked to the beach! The local Carrefour was fine for larger shops, and there is also a Mercadona within easy reach. The garden and pool are well looked after - watch out for the overnight watering! There were 4 of us and there was plenty of space, as well as sufficient crockery, cooking utensils etc. We had a lovely, restful week and enjoyed our stay.

Autumn Break at Casa Jual

We had a great week at Casa Jual - all we could have expected and more. Very well fitted , smashing pool and peaceful rural location. But still very accessible with shops /restaurants etc all within a 10 minute drive. We had not been to his part of Spain before and very pleasantly surprised by all the places of interest nearby. Seville, Cadiz and Vejer are all within easy reach and fascinating places to visit. Also mustn't forget the beautiful beach at Roche ! We would thoroughly recommend the villa and location.

Fantastic villa with everything you need

This was our first visit to this part of Spain in August and we started with 2 nights in Seville and then drove to the villa for a weeks stay. The villa is equipped with everything you need and especially things to keep the young ones entertained - DVD's, games, books, a box of garden toys and of course the fantastic pool. Usually when we stay at a villa we go out and about a lot, not this time, we spent a lot of time at the villa relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet. We did venture to Cadiz and Conil de la Frontera which were close by and very nice. The local restaurant is lovely with a huge terrace. If you walk you will need a torch for heading back at night time (which the kids thought was brilliant). Hazel was on hand for anything we needed which wasn't necessary. Everything was clean and tidy and well maintained. All in all a lovely week and would recommend anyone to visit. Hopefully we will be back.

Very relaxing, comfortable although slightly more rural than we expected

We had a super time. Well equipped house. Could do with shower curtain in main bathroom to avoid soaking floor. Likewise in ensuite bathroom had problem with shower head soaking surrounding areas as it had water coming out over curtain. Minor issues easily rectified. Plenty to do and see. Great to be able to walk to the shop Manolas and for a coffee down the road. We loved Vejers and Cadiz and spent many evenings enjoying the buzz of Conil, and the beach at Roche. Although more rural than anticipated it was lovely to see the cows goats and hens when out n about. We thoroughly relaxed and enjoyed our time in your villa. Thank you, and enjoy your own holiday. Just for future guests the directions for coming from Malaga mention exit 110b but it should be 100b (or vice versa). I don't have them in front of me now. Thanks again

Perfect Holiday Rental

I took my two children (9 and 12) for a week over Easter and we had a wonderful time at the villa. The house has everything you need for a relaxing stay, clean, well equipped and super comfy beds and pillows. It is well situated to explore this wonderful part of Spain and even if you are unlucky with the weather you will not be short of things to do. What sets this villa apart from others we have stayed in is the outstanding customer service. Before you depart Julie will provide you with all the information you need for a safe arrival and the information in the villa is very detailed; a lot of thought has gone into ensuring guests have the best possible holiday. Hazel who looks after the villa in Spain is an absolute star; she really did go the extra mile to make sure everything was OK. You can tell that the villa is let by people who genuinely care and not just interested in the money to be made from you. Thank you Julie and Hazel from us all.

Peaceful base for exploring the area

Property as described and served as an ideal base for exploring the local area. Cadiz, Seville and Jerez all within easy reach by car. Beaches unspoilt and pretty much deserted - think Northumberland but warmer. Great part of the world.

Lovely villa for a superb family holiday!

This property is a fantastic base for a family holiday in Spain. It is close to wonderful beaches and there are plenty of other activities nearby to keep children of all ages amused (a water park, high ropes, go-carting). The extremely well appointed and spacious villa is in a peaceful location with a lovely garden and pool. The patio and lounge area is the perfect place to relax over a leisurely meal and we had everything we needed for a superb holiday.

Wonderful

We stayed for two weeks in the children's summer holiday and it was truly perfect. The first week Grandma stayed with us, the ease of traveling to the airport made this possible, which was great. The villa is perfectly located offering you the best of both worlds, seclusion whilst still be able to walk to a local shop (Manolos lovely bread fruit veg and wine). In addition there is a lovely restaurant you can also walk to Mar y Monte I recommend a torch for the way back). This was fantastic but very busy (we booked a table online) the children particularly liked dinning outside and the atmosphere was amazing, a truly special night. The local beaches are beautiful, though I recommend going in the morning. All this and many historic places like Cadiz to visit. However chilling by the pool took up the majority of our time. A welcome change of pace from the hectic schedule of normal life. The breeze we found actually very comforting as it stopped us getting to hot. The villa itself has all you need. We would definitely go back, I am dreaming of it already. The Dawsons

As described, good facilities and location. Well suited for a family holiday .

The property is well appointed, with a well maintained swimming pool and it's worth a mention the Roman steps (which are great) lead to a deep pool and not a shallow end . The barbecue is superb, however the outside seating area is a little uncomfortable for those of you who like to sit and relax in the shade . The villa's location is fantastic for day trips to the white villages and Cadiz and Conil de la Frontera is well worth visiting day and night and has great restaurants.

Comfortable and spacious villa

This is the second holiday we have enjoyed at this great villa. Last June it was just the two of us. This year we went with friends who thoroughly enjoyed their stay, as did we. It is spacious, comfortable, clean and very well equipped. The garden is fabulous, big and secluded with a really lovely pool. It is in a beautiful rural setting, but only a ten minute drive to Roche beach which is wild and beautiful, totally unspoiled. There is a very good fruit, bread and general produce shop and a fab restaurant nearby, both within walking distance. Supermarkets and other nice restaurants are within a short drive. All in all it is a place for a restful, happy holiday.

Quiet , relaxing but fun for all the family

The villa was exactly what we expected. Nicely secluded with a beautiful garden, lovely pool, lawn and BBQ. The villa is very well equipped, even board games for those wet days, although while we visited the weather was glorious and trips to the beach a few minutes drive away were a must. The local beach is stunning, great for surf boarding, walking and having late night BBQs. The local shop , Manolos, has everything you need in the way of groceries with plenty of local fresh fruit and vegetables. There is a Go-Ape type adventure park a few minutes away, a must for those with children and plenty of interesting restaurants nearby. We had a very relaxing holiday and cannot recommend this villa highly enough.

Great stay - lovely villa - beautiful beaches

We - family of 4 with 2 kids aged 7 and 4 + grandma - stayed in Casa Jual for May'15 half term holidays. We had a great week with visits to Cadiz, Sevilla, Vejer and Tarifa, mixed with the lovely beaches - playas and calas - in Roche and hours of fun in the swimming pool. The villa is very well located, has 3 airy bed rooms (which can be make completely dark - important for the little ones!), 2 badrooms, living room and kitchen with door giving to a roofed terrace. The kids loved the garden, especially the cabinet full of garden toys! Strongly recommended!

Perfect villa in a lovely location

Stayed with friends & their children. Such an easy place, fab layout with good sized bedrooms & living/dining room & the beds are comfy. Garden was pretty with lovely plants; one side has a wall protecting you from the small, very quiet road & another side has lovely palm type plants separating the garden from the neighbouring farmer's field & then the great private pool with easy steps to get in & out. The kitchen was well equipped (thankfully with a dishwasher). Lots of cooking utensils, pots, pans and casseroles; this is excellent as some places I've stayed have been minimal. Oh & a great bar-b-q out in the garden. The garden was the perfect size for the kids to run around & play bat & ball & tag, still allowing us adults space to sit on the loungers. It was still lovely hot weather in October so we spent a lot of time in the pool which was a great size for six adults & children; the children loved having their own pool. There was also a wooden cupboard near the front door that had some children's toys in like bat and ball, footballs, etc. Location and amenity wise: The villa, one of four villas well spaced away from each other. Two minute walk gets you to a lovely pine forest which we went walking in most days; a local resident living nearby told us it was the largest natural pine forest in Europe, although they said there was a fire a few years ago which has reduced its size but we really liked walking in it. The beach was a 10min drive & is stunning. It's vast so it was never overcrowded. Lovely soft sand & if you are there at sunset as we were one day, well it is just beautiful & a must see. We went to a great grill/pizza restaurant just a few mins drive away which was recommended by the owners in their info folder but also by other guests in the comments book. Excellent food & good service and a very 'amusing' owner. We also went to a hotel in the local town El Colorado for breakfast a couple of times, lovely coffee & really friendly service. We noticed a 'Go Ape' type place on the way to the beach; didn't try it as we didn't have time but reviews in the comment book say it's very well run. We got most food in a brill little local grocers shop just a 10 minute walk away. We also went shopping to San Fernanda. Went to look around Vejer de la Frontera - a beautiful little town up in the mountains. Gibraltar was only an hours drive. One day we went to Cadiz which was a nice town. This is a lovely villa in a lovely location, we will be back.

Excellent Peaceful base

We stayed for two weeks, a family of 5 children 11, 10 & 8, and it was just what we needed. The place is nicely separted from the few other properties near it, just off road. The pool was great for the children (and us bigger kids), rooms were spacious with a decent living room/diner, although we always ate outside on the patio. You do need a car to get to anywhere but thats what makes it nice and quiet and the beaches are only a short drive away anyway. There are lots of different beaches so I guess you would find one to suit easy enough. Also there are a number of places to visit relatively near. We liked Vejer and got a guided tour, just the 5 of us for 10 Euro from the ticket office. We would also recomment the whale and dolphin trip from Tariffa bit of a trek but worth it. Closer to home Conil is a really nice resort with a number of excellent restaurants. We would definitely recommend this place

Wonderful holidays

We've just returned from 12 wonderful days at the Costa de la Luz - sunny and warm weather and those stunning beaches ... just perfect. We found the very spacious villa well-maintained and perfectly well-equipped, especially for a family of five (young kids), there were even toys for our kids and a small English library for us. The large garden and the clean pool were ideal for our kids to run around and play while we enjoyed siestas, beautiful sunsets and a glass of wine ... The location is very convenient, too, it's very quiet and just a 5-minutes drive into Conil, Roche and the beaches, and a good store ("Manolo") is even within walking distance. The owners "manager" lives next door and was very friendly and helpful, too, e.g. when we asked for an additional towels or a gas bottle they were immediatly delivered to the villa, the grass was cut, the pool cleaned etc. etc. To cut it short, if you have children and do not expect a five star deluxe accomodation, this is very good value for money and we can recommend it without any hesitation. We'll come back in 2011! Julia, Holger, Jan (8), Anna (6) and Lulu (3) from Germany, April 2010

Family friendly, quiet and beatiful location.

Our family has stayed at this lovely villa four times in the last few years and have found it perfect for our needs with a young family of three children. We would love to keep it a secret , really! Its in a friendly Spanish speaking area, the locals are very accommodating . Good local shops, reasonably priced restaurants ,despite the fluctuating euro! The villa is simply furnished but has everything you could want, including toys and a sun tent.A very well equipped kitchen should you wish to cook and a BBQ.We have always found it very clean ,stocked well with towels and a welcome pack. The pool being fenced was the main factor that made us choose the villa and the peaceful location. Very easy to travel to and from airports at Jerez and Seville. Lots of things to see and do within an hour or so by car.The beaches are amazing and fairly quiet mon to fri, and no irritating amusements!Lovely people next door, who are English and speak Spanish should you need any help or directions. We hope to visit again next year.

About the host

Hosted by Julie Vickery

Host profile image
My name is Julie Vickery and firstly, I should apologise for the photo as it contains not just my family but some good friends of ours. We rarely get a photo of our family where someone doesn't look ridiculous, so I thought I'd go for this one. I am in the blue dress, my husband Paul is to my right, in the pink t-shirt. My oldest son Christopher is in the CocaCola tshirt and my youngest son William is at the end in the checked shirt. This photo was taken in 2014 in Vejer, during the August festival season.
Anyway, enough about the photo, more about us. We live in Sevenoaks in Kent, and both my boys are at secondary school. My husband works full time in London and I work part time in Sevenoaks and from home. We bought our villa in 2003 having done next to no research, which, whilst we realise was incredibly niaive, has turned out to be a great decision. We love the Costa de la Luz and have had many memorable holidays there, both as a family and with friends. We tend to go at least once each year. We would love to go more often but time usually prevents us from doing so.

Why they chose this property

When we first went to look at Conil and the surrounding area, having seen it for the first time on one of the many holiday home TV programmes on UK TV, we couldn't get over how lovely the beaches were .... and deserted. We went in January first of all and we could still sit on the beach (albeit not in swimming costumes) and we were hooked. The beach does get busier in the high season but even then, not to the busy standards of some countries. Out of season, the beach will often be quite empty. However, there is also far more to the area than beaches. If you take the trouble to drive around off of the main roads, the countryside can be quite beautiful. There are many picturesque towns and villages to visit and the cities of Cadiz, Seville and Jerez are all relatively close. Lastly, having looked at quite a number of properties, and never really being bowled over, we saw this property and loved it immediately. We love the fact that it is surrounded by farmland and that many of our neighbours are locals. It is peaceful but not too isolated, yet close to great beaches and the lovely town of Conil.

What makes this property unique

I am not sure what I would say are it's unique benefits, we love all of it. It has a great garden with plenty of room for sunbathing or playing, it is comfortable and we have tried our best to think of everything we can that makes a holiday enjoyable. I know the things that have irritated me on holidays in the past, like only getting exactly 6 glasses and none of them for wine or having to rush out and buy cleaning cloths and liquid for the kitchen, even though I am only somewhere for a week, so we have tried hard to include small things that make a stay comfortable. In fact, if you do take your holiday with us, and you think we have missed something, please please do let me know.
One big benefit for us are the sunsets at the beach, they are absolutely beautiful. Go down to Roche in the evening, take a bottle of wine with you and just sit and watch the sun sink down below the horizon. Take it from me, there is no better way to spend an evening.
I hope you do decide to stay at our home and that you will enjoy it just as much as we do.
