It is located in the quiet countryside 30 minutes by car from the beaches of the flowered coast, 35 minutes from Deauville, 25 minutes from Bernay and Lisieux. It is a central starting point for (re) discovering this beautiful region.
In the evening, you can enjoy the sweetness of a wood fire around a large fireplace.
The surrounding villages (Epaignes, Lieurey, Cormeilles) will offer you merchants and supermarkets, including Sunday mornings.

Family Holiday

There were 10 of us. Dining area was large and accommodating. Lounge area only had enough seating for 7. Not enough lounges and cushions in the garden area. Indoor pool was the most used area, great for the kids. Very quiet and peaceful.

Family celebrations

We chose this property to host husbands special birthday celebrations.The property is set in lovely grounds including enormous koi fish pond. Sleeping accommodation is split between main house and annex which suited us well but the 6th room (above the annex) constitutes a mattress on the floor and is only accessible via a ladder- possibly great for younger family members but not for adults as not able to stand up there. The pool was much used - smaller than it looks in the photos but nevertheless much enjoyed. Communication with host was best via the App and responses were timely. A local manager of the property was available for arrival etc but communication was a little more challenging due to our lack of fluent French and his of fluent English- he was however polite and responsive throughout. We had a rainy week and so the enormous dining table was great for family board games and eating all together.

Wonderful.

We had such a fantastic 10 days in this glorious house. It's utterly beautiful and looks as though it's stepped out of a fairy tale. The garden is huge and teeming with wildlife, the main house is wonderfully rustic with two substantial tables that are ideal for family games and the 3-bedroom annexe is so comfortable. The pool makes it especially brilliant - we spent the majority of our time using it. Thank you enormously Olivier and Didier.

Family holiday in Normandy

Charming house and annexe with fabulous large garden with 2 ponds. Plenty of room for 11 of us aged 3-65 to spread out but also spend time together. Didier the property manager was excellent and available for anything we needed. Some furnishings and equipment somewhat tired and in need of attention or replacement. Overall a success.

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, charming house, set within its gorgeous and generous grounds. The pool was perfect and enjoyed by all. Didier (Manager) was welcoming and was available if needed. It's a charming place, full or character.

Fantastic family holiday.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful authentic Norman house. All the facilities you could want for a great holiday, set in stunning grounds and in an ideal location. Communication with property owner and manager was excellent before and during our stay. Highly recommend and would love to return.

Everything we hoped for in a family break and celebration!

After carefully researching large properties in Normandy where we could comfortably come together as a family of 10 for a week, to celebrate my 70th birthday, we unanimously decided on Olivier's two characterful houses set in fabulous secluded grounds. Travelling in three cars from England via Eurotunnel we arrived in Epaignes three and half hours after setting off from Calais. The route was easy to follow along motorways, only having to drive through one major town. Reaching our destination we were greeted with a friendly smile from Didier, site manager. He made it clear that if we needed anything, he was living along the same road which was reassuring to know. As we settled into the properties it quickly became clear that we had got it right in choosing this very special holiday venue. We all made use of the generously sized heated indoor swimming pool most days. You're only 70 once so it was fitting that we celebrated in the larger of the beautiful houses! The grounds were stunning! We also entertained ourselves visiting quaint villages, Sword Beach, a D-Day landing site, a basilica and wine bars! We can all thoroughly recommend Olivier's two Norman houses, without hesitation! Andrew Diedo, Dartford, Kent, England. Ps. My 4 year old granddaughter has named her new teddybear, Didier!

A beautiful, tranquil spot.

We chose this house for a special birthday celebration and it is fair to say that we made lots of memories during our stay. It is a beautiful, quiet spot to stay in. We spent every day out of the house as it is is ideally situated to reach Deauville/Trouville (a fab Sunday market) Honfleur, Rouen, Gold & Juno Beach, Bayeaux & Caen. We enjoyed the garden and pond every day with football & frisbee and frog & fish spotting (we even saw a smooth snake!). The boys used the gym a few times too. The house itself is basic but comfortable & it was adequately cleaned& laundered. We managed to squeeze everyone around the kitchen table for breakfast and sat outside for barbeques. The pool was perfect - nothing to add! The owner is brilliant - responds pretty quickly and is very accommodating. I would recommend staying here especially if you want to get away from it all and commune with nature!

Maison idealement située dans un magnifique cadre de verdure qui meriterait un petit rafraichissement. Ceci dit nous avons passé un très bon week end ensoleillé en famille que nous avons tous trouvé trop court. Piscine chauffée très appréciée par tous. Le proprietaire arrangeant quant aux horaires d'arrivée.

C’est la 2eme fois que nous séjournons au Bois l’Abbé pour nous retrouver entre amis et c’est toujours un plaisir. L’environnement est calme et la maison idéale pour partager un bon repas préparé dans la cheminée et un apéritif au bord de la piscine. La maison dispose de tout l’équipement nécessaire et la literie est de bonne qualité. Merci à Olivier pour nos échanges et à Didier pour son accueil et sa bienveillance. Très bon séjour en famille

Nous avons bien profité de la maison qui est très agréable, mention spéciale pour la grande cheminée et surtout la piscine. Les enfants ont adoré et passé beaucoup de temps dans l'eau. MLa communication a été fluide et le propriétaire arrangeant sur les horaires d'arrivée et de départ.

Super séjour dans cette joyeuse maison

Super maison avec immense jardin, très très sympa pour un week-end familiale. Quelques bémols concernant des précisions dans l’annonce qui ne se sont pas avérées vraies (pas de clim, on nous a demandé de sortir les poubelles alors qu’il est précisé 200e de ménage sur l’annonce…). Cependant, nous avons partagé ce feedback avec le propriétaire qui est très à l’écoute de ses locataires et très aidant. Je recommande !!

Une enterrement de vie de garçons réussi

Nous avons réservé le gîte du samedi au mardi.Moi et les onze autres participants avons apprécié ce bel endroit niché dans la verdure.La piscine intérieure a été un grand plus.Les couchages sont tous de qualité.Le propriétaire ainsi que Didier le gardien sont arrangeants et sympathiques.

Week end au bois l'abbé

Le gîte est situé au milieu d'un parc arboré très agréable et très calme.Il est constitué de 2 maisons indépendantes, ce qui nous a permis de loger les enfants d'un côté et les adultes de l'autre. La piscine couverte est très bien et son accès est très pratique car il se fait depuis la salle à manger. Le propriétaire et la personne qui s'occupe de gérer l'état des lieux d'entrée et de sortie sont très sympathiques. Cependant, le gîte mériterait un petit rafraîchissement afin qu'il soit vraiment au top. Des petits bémols aussi sur la quantité de vaisselle (insuffisante pour la capacité d'accueil du gîte), le manque de lumière dans la salle à manger (pas d'éclairage dans la première partie de la pièce) et des petites choses qui ont échappées à la femme de ménage : toiles d'araignées, moisissure sur les rideaux de douche...Mais cela n'a pas entravé la qualité de notre week end.

Agréable séjour

Merci à Olivier et Didier pour l’organisation et accueil, malgré une réservation tardive. La maison et piscine sont très bien chauffées, les extérieurs magnifiques. Les équipements tels que le lave-vaisselle et la machine à laver sont très appréciables. À bientôt !
