Valonga

We was greeted by Paulo what a very friendly guy who showed us everything about the villa and took me on a tour of where to get the train and local supermarket. This place is quite away from Porto but don’t let this put you off I would recommend you get the uber app they are so cheap and book an uber from the airport we was charged 45 euros by a taxi but we booked an uber for the return back to the airport which was 21 that was for a large vehicle normal car was 13 .

Lovely Villa

Accommodation is excellent, lovely to be met by the host who did an essential shop for us as we were arriving late. Airy rooms with air conditioning. The pool is great for a dip after a day sightseeing in Porto. The steps into the pool were very slippery and wobbly so care is needed entering and exiting the pool. It would benefit from a couple more sun loungers as there were only two. We did struggle to sleep as the neighbouring dogs barked through the night. Ubers are a great way of getting around. Best to avoid work rush hour at either end of the day if heading to Porto. We had a lovely city break with the bonus of our own private space and pool. We did come home tired due to lack of sleep caused by the barking dogs!!!!

Stunning villa

Such a beautiful villa, really well appointed throughout with aircon in each room. So lovely to stay in such a gorgeous place, with a pool, for a city break but still be close to the city

A week away with family

We had a lovely stay at the property. Communication was excellent, Theresa answered emails very quickly with any queries before we went. Paulo met us at the property and made us feel right at home - he was on hand during the stay to answer any questions we had and was incredibly helpful with suggestions and things we had not thought of. The house was immaculate and well resourced (our party included a 1 year old to a 70 year old). It did include a cot and a high chair. The only thing missing from the property was a bath but the showers were good! The garden and outside rooms are a great space and are bigger than they look on the photos. We didn't have a car but it would be helpful to have one. A big supermarket is only 10 minutes walk away, which was too short for many Ubers to want to pick us up with our shopping. The train station is a similar distance and has a great service to Porto. Valongo itself is about a 20-minute walk. We would happily stay there again, and would happily recommend it to friends.

This is a lovely villa tucked away in the Porto suburb of Valongo

This is a lovely villa tucked away in the Porto suburb of Valongo, with convenient access on foot to the train station and large supermarket. The salt water pool is fantastic and our only recommendation to the owners would be to get some cushions for the loungers and outdoor furniture, as without they were rather uncomfortable; plus some additional pool towels would be really useful. Paulo was on hand when we arrived and went out of his way to show us around the villa and local area by car before he left, which was incredibly kind and useful. The welcome pack of food and drink essentials was also much appreciated after our delayed arrival time. We consider ourselves quite fussy when it comes to holiday rentals, and overall we had a great time in the villa and had no complaints!

Great place to relax, luxury lounge, wonderful pool and garden, friendly owners, large supermarket 3min drive away, gorgeous Porto 20min train ride away. We will return.

Marvellous

This is the best villa we have ever stayed in - very well equipped, spacious and in a convenient location for Porto, Douro Valley, Braga, Guimarães etc. Paulo, the owner, was incredibly helpful in showing us the location of supermarket, restaurants and railway station as well as thoughtfully providing some essential supplies on arrival and delicious Pastel del Nata on departure. I thoroughly recommend this villa - a great holiday. Thank you Paulo

A very nice property. Very well equipped, near the train station and various shops and supermarkets. The owners are very helpful and we appreciated the extra itesm that they left at the start of the stay and after the end of the first week.

Luxury stay combined with authentic Portuguese experience

Our family had the most wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. Paulo could not have been more helpful and welcoming despite us arriving quite late. The villa is exactly as described, it has every possible convenience you might require, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms. Outdoor pool area with barbeque and lots of seating was great . If you are looking for luxury accommodation with an authentic Portuguese experience and close to beaches, shopping, city of Porto , this is definitely the place to stay. We will definitely return in the future. Well done to Paulo and Teresa, first class hosts

Great host and villa

Paulo accommodated an early check-in, welcomed us with beers, wine, soft drinks, water and fresh pastel de nata's and took the time to show us the villa in detail as well as driving us around the local amenities and restaurants, including a short-cut to the train station and his wife's lovely coffee shop which we used one morning which I would highly recommend. Location is great for access to Porto and not far from the airport either. All as described. Thanks again.

A beautifully appointed and spacious villa with all amenities,and a most helpful and pleasant host

My husband and myself were joined by our 2 adult children over a 12 day stay in this beautifully appointed villa. Initially we hired a car to visit the area around Porto, but latterly we found ourselves just relaxing around the pool with a book. The villa is self contained And spacious and it was ideal for the type of down-time holiday we Needed, just lounging around and catching up with kids and their friends. Paolo our genial and charming host was ever solicitous, checking that we lacked for nothing. He arrived with welcome gifts of wine and pastries, and made restaurant reservations, as well as dropping us off and picking us up after lunch on the day of our arrival. We will certainly return and would highly recommend this property . Thank you Paolo

Clean, spacious and excellent host!

Our host Paolo made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. He pointed out all of the good places to visit in Porto and Gaia so we had plenty to do. The house is in very close proximity to a shopping mall/supermarket (5-10 minute walk) which is useful. Overall a great place to stay. Thank you for your hospitality!

Fantastic villa!

Paulo is a great host and has a beautiful villa with everything you could need for a stay in Porto. He recommended restaurants etc. and showed us around Valongo. Easy access to Porto by car or train. We used the train into Porto as it's very straightforward and not expensive. Highly recommended!

One of the best holidays

Lovely villa, very well equipped, with modern kit, access to Wifi, wall mounted TVs etc, and a lovely outside seating area next to the pool. The whole place was very clean and well set out. Could not fault the villa at all. It is within 5 minute walk of Suzao railway station, which is a 20 minute journey into the centre of Porto. A 5 minute walk from the villa brings you to a main supermarket with all of the essentials you need. Dotted around the area are a number of smaller shops and bakeries. Paolo was the most helpful person you could have wished for, and made our stay extremely relaxing. Cannot thank him enough.

House was as portrayed and host Paul was very accommodating. A car is definitely necessary as it is 25 minutes to downtown Porto. A few more sharp knives in the kitchen would have been nice but overall the house was great value and very comfortable

Modern, immaculate house in Porto area

Sleek, modern, immaculate house with delightful pool. This was a terrific place to return to after exploring Porto and the Douro. Cool (great A/C!), lovely pool, and every amenity. Highly recommend!
