The Coach House, Moira is a single story converted coach house style building. Attached to the main family home with own private lawn, hot tub, and a new barbecue barn in spring 2021. Large parking area to front. Two double bedrooms and 1 twin. Two modern bathrooms one with bath and one with shower. Oil fired central heating and gas cooking hob.
Private use Hot tub and barbecue/pizza barn available on site, paid for on location separately to Coach House rental.
This property is well laid out and beautifully presented... The building is an interesting creation following the classical farm dwellings of the turn of eighteenth century architecture. Built as in this period, in stages as the farm developed in prosperity. Generously wooded this is a quiet rural location, 6 minutes drive from the M1 motorway.
The garden for The Coach House is west facing and completely enclosed. The patio and Hot Tub are perfectly situated for the afternoon and evening sun. Luxury Hot tub with wifi available to book separately.

when we arrived we were told that they owners were not expecting us that day.

We were told there was no booking for us , but all was okay they would need a little time to get the heating on and tidy up it took about 20 mins and we all stood outside. This was the first time all my family was away for a few days together and i begins to panic. At last we went in and the owner said he would fill the jacuzzi luckily we didnt want to use it that evening , it took all night because it had a leek. We didnt receive a welcome pack and the barn needed a clean up. The house was nice and clean and well fitted out with pans and pottery. It would have been nice to have been greeted in a more reassuring and positive booking .

Great location. Quiet, spacious and tranquil.

Great property that’s on the doorstep of Belfast, Lurgan and Moira. Set out in the countryside but 20 mins by train from Belfast. Tranquil and relaxing and this was aided by the hot tub. Friendly dogs and horse that all seemed at ease with people coming and going. Family on site for any questions, advice or required assistance. Totally recommend this property especially for a family groups. 😁

A relaxed and quiet getaway

We had a great time just getting away to this quiet location. Even with Covid restrictions, we were able to enjoy ourselves and the change of scenery. My children were especially fond of the dogs.

Great escape.....

What a lovely place, peaceful in a rural location but only 6 mins drive and you are in Moira with it's great selection of restaurants, pubs and a deli you must visit. The Coach House is in a great location for exploring Northern Ireland only 25 mins from the airport, 30 mins from Belfast and 90 mins from the North West coast and all the great places to visit, including the Giants Causeway. On arrival we couldn't have been made to feel more welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed the homemade bread, thank you!

Superb!

Clem and Jayne were perfect hosts who told us about everywhere to visit in NI, including the best restaurants in Moira. We were never disappointed. Also having their dogs around us made us feel really at home and even more so when Jayne had baked us an Rhubarb crumble( very nice indeed!). We will definitely return and look at staying here again. Thanks very much again!

Great base for following in the footsteps of St Patrick!

Clem and his family were helpful and welcoming. The Coach House is light and airy with an enjoyable garden area. If you like country living with animals nearby, this is the place for you! Only drawback is only one shower--two nice bathrooms, but only one shower.

Very high standard and roomy accomadation.

Every detail has been considered by our hosts and we had a super base to work from. Don't think I would book a hotel again when there are great places like The Coach House available. A car is necessary although everything you need is only a few minutes away. The Coach House is in the country side and there is even a very good fitness centre only 4 minutes down the road at the local country club. Moira offers a great range of food options, from delis, pub food, award winning butchers, cafes and takeaways to fine dining at an award winning, Michelin listed restaurant.

Outstanding property in an ideal location

We had to travel to Northern Ireland for a family christening and decided to make a bit more of our visit. We chose this charming Coach House property owned and run by Clem and Jayne purely at random. It was located centrally for us and was an excellent find. This beautiful property was just first rate. Set in a very rural area near the picturesque town of Moira, the property had everything that 3 adults could wish for. Clem and Jayne were charming hosts and made us feel very welcome and at home. We got the impression that no request by us would be a problem. The property is very comfortable indeed and in fact the photos on the website perhaps do not do it justice, particularly we felt, with the sitting room/kitchen area, which is really quite spacious! The close proximity to the M1 motorway and the little railway station in Moira (for a trip into Central Belfast) meant that we were able to travel about the area quite easily. We may well be back in that part of Northern Ireland again and if so we will certainly check out the availability of this property. We would recommend it to anyone seeking a quiet and comfortable place for a stay in this part of Northern Ireland.

Home from Home

If you are looking for a lovely place to stay in Northern Ireland then this has got to be one of the best. Spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The hosts Clem and Jayne were very welcoming with two lovely boys Calum and Robert, not forgetting Spider the Schnauzer who looked forward to a walk in the morning with our dog down quiet country lanes. We had a lovely holiday, very quiet and relaxing listening to the birds singing in the garden. A good base to tour Northern Ireland not far from the M1 and only 22 miles to Belfast. Thank You Clem and Jayne for a lovely holiday, your property is beautiful and we would not hesitate to come back again. May 31st to June 7th 2016

Comfortable and Stylish

We were very pleased with the location. There was extensive grounds with plenty of animals which pleased us. The owner left us some local produce which was a nice surprise. Everything was clean and tidy. It was very peaceful and would have liked to stay longer.

great place to stay for a family or friends

Arrived and Clem met us and guided us to the house. Give us all the gen on what was what and the greeting pack was great. When shower broke down was fast to get it replaced. The house was very comfortable. Was a home from home. Clem was kind enough to take our dog for a walk while we attended my mothers funeral. Great gentleman few and far between. Our best ever stay even in sad circumstances. Thanks Clem and Jane great hosts. If you looking to stay in the Armagh area this is the place to stay. Terry and Gillian

Top Class Holiday House

Our Family so enjoyed our HOLIDAY in the North. This house was immaculate, had everything we needed for cooking and relaxing, the location is very peaceful and quiet. The bedrooms, linen and towels made us feel like we were staying in a 5 star hotel...beautiful. We so enjoyed meeting and spending some time with the Fitzgerald family and Robert (12 yrs) and Calum (10 years) were so good with our 2 small grandchildren, they even organised an egg hunt with lots of treats and fun. We would definitely recommend this house for anyone thinking of touring Belfast or the North coast.

About the host

Hosted by Clem & Jayne FitzGerald

Host profile image
Family home with horses, dogs and farm cats. We are very happy to be hosting and take great pleasure in your enjoyment. Staycations have encouraged us to increase the opportunities for our guests and this is why we have designed the new Barn facility and built new infrastructure to facilitate it in a beautiful wooded area opposite the Coach House Patio.

Why they chose this property

Location, location , location this is why we live here. It's an amazing central location for pleasure or business. Thirty minutes from the main Airports and Ferry Terminals. Six minutes from the M1 and fast access to all the main road networks South to Newry/Dublin 1.5 hrs, West to Dungannon 30 minutes & Enniskillen 1.5 hours, East to Lisburn/Belfast 30 minutes and North to Ballymena/Coleraine 1.5 hrs.
The CAUSEWAY COAST is less than 80 minutes drive.
Top of range HOT TUB (pay separately on arrival).
BARN for DIY pizzas & barbecues with a fire pit in the woods. (pay separately on arrival)
The location is in a small wooded area very close to significant sports amenities.
The Coach House is quite enough to relax and close enough for work and play. Great all round location with outdoor options for your enjoyment.

What makes this property unique

Private use, Hot tub on the patio with Wi-Fi music. Private use Barbecue/pizza Barn and fire pit. Beautifully located across the lawn into a wooded area.
The coach house has charismatic three arches which are now the guest bedrooms, the rambling main house and simple tree lined grounds give a relaxing informal feeling in keeping with country living.
The frog pond (partially fenced) is a children's dream away from the play station and x box. Unfortunately for the frogs the pond is visited by herons and birds of prey in search of food.
The Coach House Barn
The Barn is an outside partly sheltered space where guests can plan for barbecues and pizza fests in most weathers.
Situated in a small wooded area opposite The Coach House patio, the barn is a great space to chill out with family and friends.
The Barn can facilitate small family groups of up to 12 adults and children, so the barn is perfect for inviting your own guests over for an afternoon or evening.
Please discuss with us in advance if you would like to plan for visitors to join you at the barn. Please note visitors cannot use the hot tub, this is reserved for Coach House overnight guests.
Because they can be hard to get, we can organise dough balls £1 each, base sauce £2 per can and the correct kiln dried fuels for the fire pit £10 and the pizza oven £5 are supplied by us. You will probably buy your own pizza and barbecue ingredients.
It is an outdoor space, be careful with the uneven ground and the areas in the woodland have lots of stinging nettles with grass pathways cut between them. It’s a natural area where you can enjoy the country side in a meadow surrounded by trees.
Please do keep the music volume down during the day and completely off after 10.30pm.
To rent the barn and area is £60 for up to 3 days and £10 per day thereafter.
Talk over your plans with us and we can help you with arrangements.
