Perfect

This is a lovely accomodation on a peaceful, private lane by a beautiful sandy beach. We had such a warm welcome from Anne-Marie taking time to show us around the property. There was a lovely Welcome pack for us to enjoy after travelling, including a delicious homemade cake. The property was very well laid out for a family, feeling spacious and very clean. Thankyou for our 3 night stay, we wished it was longer.

Superb! Highly recommend!

We have just returned from Utah Beach after a really lovely holiday. Thank you to Anne Marie for allowing us to rent her beautiful and very well equipped home. Anne Marie was very kind to us. She contacted us the day before we arrived and kept in touch during our journey down. She was very accommodating when we were delayed. We loved the homemade cake and the fruit and food we found in the fridge. She gave us a very detailed folder with all the useful information together with leaflets of things to do and places to see. The proximity to the beach was perfect and on the right side of the road too. If you had been in a property overlooking the sea you would not have enjoyed the lovely sunshine in the garden during the day. The garden is very private with lots of seating and a nice big table. We enjoyed a couple of barbecues. The walk across the road to the beach was just wonderful and when we reached the sand dune it was breath taking! Also very poignant to think what the beach looked like on 6th June 1944! The Museum nearby was very interesting and informative. We spent a lovely couple of hours wandering around. The Brasserie was ok too. We walked there one late afternoon and enjoyed an omelette and frites. Most of the time we were happy to cook in the Gite. We shopped at the Super U in St Marie Eglise. Closed Sundays. The local bakery was open in the morning, although was closed Wednesday morning but the campsite nearby has a shop and we were able to buy some lovely bread there. We also bought some amazing sausages from Mr Willy the village butcher! We found the Gite to be perfect for driving out to Bayeux, Arromanches and surrounding coastal villages. Anne Marie - Merci Beaucoup!! Just wonderful and we will certainly visit again.

First class accomodation with exceptional facilities

The villa occupies a secluded position just behind Utah Beach. Inside Anne-Marie has thought of everything you are likely to need or wish for. On welcoming us to her property, we were presented with a home-made cake, local wine and cider together with the basic necessities to get us started. At the outset, it became clear that Anne-Marie is a very special person who cares about her guests. We were lucky to have a week of good weather and enjoyed the BBQ and garden as well as the well appointed facilities within. Many thanks, Anne-Marie..

The Ideal Family Property Close To The Beach

Having been a regular visitor to Normandy for the past 15 years I knew the area well, so i was really excited to come across this property that gave the opportunity to stay on Utah Beach. We took our 2 year old daughter for her first trip to Normandy, the house was perfect for her as the layout was set on one level, the garden was completely enclosed and the amazing electric shutters on the windows created complete darkness for her to sleep. The house itself was very fresh and modern, with the kitchen having just about everything needed for any budding cooks. The bathrooms were particularly nice with the highlight for me being the walk in shower which was great to unwind in after a long hot day exploring. The property is set on a private road so no through traffic, the proximity to the beach was perfect with a pathway 20 meters away from the house. This pathway lead right onto the most perfect quiet sandy beach and for all you D-Day fans out there to a part of the beach that was actually used during D-Day. The owners of the house actually met us and introduced us to the property which was a nice touch, they were very friendly and helpful and yes the rumours are true Cake is involved... They have clearly taken the time to decorate the house tastefully for its surroundings and to a very high standard. We would thoroughly recommend this property and we will certainly return on our next visit to the area.

Lovely villa in an evocative location

Anne-Marie's property was beautifully decorated, fully equipped and spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was there - even beach towels - and a generous food and drink welcome pack which included a lovely home made cake. The location of the property is unique - we felt transported back in time - lots of WW2 references in the beautiful village of Ste Marie du Mont and then there is the thought provoking Utah Beach museum and the magnificent Utah Beach itself. We very highly recommend this villa.

Beautifully presented holiday home.

We have just returned from a lovely few days in Normandy, staying in Anne-Marie's fantastic little house. We couldn't have wished for better, we were welcomed by Anne-Marie who showed us around, She even baked us a cake! Everything about the accommodation was of very good guality and spotlessly clean. Utah beach was a few metres away over the dunes and only a short walk from the d-day museum. All in all a perfect base to explore this part of Normandy.

Entspannter Urlaub in einem tollen Ferienhaus

In der Beschreibung des Ferienhauses war alles enthalten, was wir vor Ort vorgefunden haben. Auch die Bilder des Hauses sind sehr aussagekräftig. Lediglich das Internet mit nur 0,8 Mbps hätte besser sein können. Bei unserer Ankunft hat uns Anne-Marie alles rund ums Haus gezeigt und erklärt sowie zahlreiche Ausflugstipps gegeben. Da unsere Französisch-Kenntnisse nur spärlich sind, haben wir uns in einer Mischung aus Englisch und Französisch verständigt, was sehr gut funktioniert hat. Alles in Allem haben wir - auch dank des nahegelegenen Strandes - einen wunderbaren Urlaub genossen.

Maison Utah Beach

Superbe maison, agréable, on s'y sent bien. Très bien équipée. A proximité de musées, bunkers, batteries.... idéal pour découvrir le débarquement. Plage magnifique à proximité. Sans oublier un charmant accueil avec beaucoup de conseils....et des petits présents qui mettent la cerise sur le gâteau ! Nous reviendrons.

We were delighted by the quiet street about 50 yards from an entrance to Utah Beach. The Museum is wothin walking distance both on the street and via the Beach itself. Enjoyed the backyard deck in the evening. A truly wonderful experience throughout our 5 day stay.

Wohlfühlort

Wir sind von Anne-Marie sehr herzlich empfangen worden, mit selbstgemachtem Cake und vielen Tipps in der näheren Umgebung. Das Haus ist wie auf den Bildern, steht in der zweiten Reihe hinter der Düne. Die Betten sind bequem und es gibt genug Frottierwäsche. Wir haben bei weniger gutem Wetter die Webcams von Barneville-Carteret und Saint Vaast la Houge angeschaut. Manchmal ist das Wetter wirklich besser und es lohnt sich, etwas zu fahren (wenn man draussen sein möchte). Bayeux ist auch superschön. In Saint Marie du Mont kann man in der Brasserie gut essen, die Metzgerei und die Bäckerei sind auch zu empfehlen. In Saint Mere Eglise ist der Supermarkt gross und das kleine Städtli auch gut für einen Lunch oder Souvenirs zu kaufen. Wir hatten hier schöne 10 Tage, auch viel selbstgekocht. Nach Mont Saint Michel kommt man in 90 Minten (früh losfahren=weniger Leute). Geht gut für einen Tagesausflug und man sieht viel von der Manche unterwegs. Definitiv zu empfehlen! Preis-Leistung vom Haus super.

Schönes Ferienhaus in bester Lage

Ferienhaus Utah Beach

Liebevolles maritimes Haus in perfekter Lage Zwei Wochen wunderbaren Urlaubs sind nun leider vorbei. Wir haben uns in dem schönen Ferienhaus sehr wohl gefühlt, was vor allem auch die absolute Nähe zum Strand ausmachte. Der ausgedehnte Sandstrand eröffnete vielerlei Möglichkeiten, ihn zu genießen. Bei Ebbe kamen die Austernbänke und Muschelpfähle zum Vorschein, was sehr interessant war. Das Haus ist sehr sauber und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Die geräumige einladende Küche ist mit modernen Geräten, ausreichend Geschirr und einem großen Familientisch ausgestattet. Sehr schön war es auch, dass Bettwäsche, ausreichend Hand- und Strandtücher zu Verfügung standen. Die Sonnenterrasse hinter dem Haus war einladend und man konnte manche Abende sehr schön bei einem Gläschen Wein und Sternenhimmel genießen. Für Kinder gab es im Garten eine Schaukel. In Sainte-Marie-du-Mont (ca. 6 km Entfernung) gab es einen Fischer mit frischen Austern und Miesmuscheln, eine Patisserie, einen Fleischer, eine kleine Brasserie mit angegliedertem kleinen Lebensmittelladen, eine Creperie und ein Restaurant. Alles in allem war es ein wunderschöner Urlaub. Wir möchten uns bei Anne-Marie, der Vermieterin, für Ihre Freundlichkeit und dem herzlichen Empfang mit Baguette, Butter, Brie, Kuchen und Cidre bedanken. Un grand merci

Wunderschönes Ferienhaus

Wir haben unseren Urlaub in diesem wunderschönen Ferienhaus sehr genossen. Das Haus ist sehr sauber, bestens ausgestattet und verfügt über eine schöne Sonnenterrasse mit verwunschenem Garten. Toll fanden wir die ruhige Lage und die Nähe zum ausgedehnten Sandstrand. Wir wurden bei Ankunft sehr nett begrüßt und danken der Vermieterin für ihre Freundlichkeit und warmherzige Aufnahme. Super séjour dans ce gîte à 2 pas de la mer

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié ce gîte conforme aux photos et très bien agencé et décoré. Nous avons été très bien accueilli par la propriétaire qui a pris le temps de nous donner des conseils et nous a offert un gâteau maison délicieux, une bouteille de cidre, baguette et camembert. Le gîte était d'une propreté impeccable. La literie est confortable. La cuisine est très bien équipée. Une superbe plage est à 2 pas de la maison et l'environnement calme. Nous recommandons vivement cette location.
