Beautifully appointed cottage with a wonderful view. Well situated for walking the Fife coastal path. Owner is very quick to respond if needed. The information on the website and guest book needs updating to avoid problems.

Wonderful few days at Fisherman’s Cottage

Arrived for a short stay at the cottage. Owners were in touch well in advance with some helpful information. Cottage was fantastic so clean and lovely decor which is a credit to the owners. What a wonderful view and the family had a lovely trip and we will definitely come back. My 6 year old daughter says she loved it and did not want to leave. Thanks for letting us stay!

A wonderful, cozy cottage.

A very well presented, comfortable and cozy accommodation, with a lovely kitchen dining area and a great wee sitting room with views to the harbour. The stairs and access to the mid level wet room may be difficult for older or less able folks, as it sits on the curve of the semi-spiral staircase. But that is a minor detail.Master bedroom very comfortable, albeit the en-suite just a wee bit tired and in need of a wee uplift, but again, one shouldn't have to spend any amount of time in there (and it is perfectly acceptable - just being picky!) Wet room has a good shower and great use of the room.Lovely log burner in the kitchen - more for aesthetics really, as the newly installed 'Hive' central heating system is tremendous. Ben linen, towels, kitchen crockery and cutlery and cooking utensils all top notch and a great gas double cooker to cater for all your home-based needs.A home-from-home!And Gus was superb in all dealings I had with him, from queeries around local eateries to the new heating system teething problems, which were fixed the same day. Superb customer service. Not much to do in St Monans itself, but a lovely wee coastal village and a short distance from sister locations with greater choice for food and drink.

Relax by the sea

The North Sea has a beauty all its own. No better place to take in that beauty than at this beautiful Fishermans Cottage. Sitting right on the seawall on a very quiet street views from every window let you see the tide ebb and flow. The front steps of the cottage are on the Fife Coastal Trail so you are ready to go at a moments notice. Comfortably appointed, well supplied, warm and cozy this is a great place to spend a stormy day or sunny weekend. Be sure to check upstairs bedroom number two with its bay window and comfortable reading chair. The only thing that will distract you from your book is the changing tides crashing on the rocks. Dolphins are seen just off the jetty, Puffins spend the summer here. Don't forget Murrays Chippy, a food truck that parks next to the convenience store every Saturday evening to serve hot Fish and Chips. You can queue up with the locals and eat your fill or take away to your cottage only five minutes down the road. theres lots to see and do in the surrounding countryside, St Andrews is just 30 minutes away. you won't go wrong choosing this wonderful location for holiday.

Back Again

Given this is our 3rd visit to the Fisherman’s Cottage, I think it says it all. The cottage is compact but comfortably accommodates 4 adults. The place is like a home from home with everything most of us would expect to find in our own homes. The place was clean and with more than adequate linen and towels for our stay. Our hosts, Gus and Lindsey, are good at keeping in touch with you during the booking stages and are very quick to reply to you if messaged. They go out their way to ensure you have everything for an enjoyable stay. Located next to the sea wall the views are just a joy to behold. St Monans is a quiet village but it is a great base for visiting in and around the Fife area.

Wonderful Easter Weekend

The cottage has wonderful views across the Forth and we not disappointed. I chose it so that my elderly mother could sit and watch the sea but we were blessed with excellent weather and got out and about as well. It was fully equipped, comfortable and as ever we were grateful it had a teapot. The boiler was a bit fiddly when we wanted to turn off the heating but once I had contacted the manager for extra guidance it was not a problem. Communication was prompt and helpful especially about the road closure. The gas works had not been completed on time but it did not detract from our stay. I really hope to return.

Perfect for a quiet break

When researching a weeks stay on the Fife coast, we looked at dozens of properties but were drawn back to Rockslea. We were so very glad we did and I would strongly suggest you don't bother looking elsewhere, save yourself some time and just book this absolutely perfect cottage. On arrival, it was absolutely immaculately clean, very comfy beds and contained everything you could possibly want for a peaceful and relaxing break. The central heating is excellent and the cottage was lovely and warm even with the heating off. The photos of the views from the windows really don't do it justice, the sea is literally the other side of the wall and we were lucky enough to have some really windy days with rough seas and spent ages just watching the waves crash over the rocks and the harbour walls. We thoroughly loved our week in the cottage and will DEFINITELY be back although this time, we will look at coming during warmer weather so we can take advantage of the walks. We thoroughly recommend this lovely cottage, you will not be disappointed!

Just what we needed

The cottage is gorgeous, perfect for a family getaway from all the hustle and bustle of working and school life. Access with the key safe is perfect and easy, the cottage was spotless and had everything we could need. The view is amazing from every window, we loved watching the waves and even slept with the window open to listen to them crashing against the harbour wall. The residents in the village are very friendly and there are some amazing local walks with stunning scenery! We had an amazing week in this beautiful cottage, thank you so much Gus and Lindsay x
