Great stay in Gale

Vills was clean and as described. Airport tranfers and check in were hassle free. Rodrigo was very attentive and helpful. We all had a very enjoyable stay.

An older style property in an excellent location and great support from the owner.

We have been visiting the Algarve for 40+ years and this property is of the older traditional style, some of the fittings reflect the age but don't get me wrong the property is fine. There is excellent internet and local cable TV, TV's in the lounge, kitchen and all the bedrooms and air con throughout. Rodrigo includes airport transfers for all the visitors (this included family arriving and leaving on different days). He also visits daily to cover and uncover the heated pool. Directly opposite the property is an excellent pastry/coffee shop that also does snacks. There are a number of restaurants nearby. Apolonia supermarket is a few minutes walk away, Aldi is a 15 minute walk away. We didn't hire a car, there is a bus stop nearby and taxi's and Ubers are plentiful. I have suggested that Rodrigo shows a floor plan as it is a little difficult to assess the layout of the property with just the photos. There is a double with ensuite, and a separate twin bedroom upstairs with access to a large roof terrace (no sunbeds/chairs) The spiral staircase isn't suited to young children. There is a triple downstairs next to a shower/wc adjacent to the lounge and small kitchen. On the other side of the lounge there are two ensuite bedrooms. There are two outside tables under an awning.

Lovely clean villa and excellent service

We've just returned from a 2 week stay. The villa was exceptionally clean. I agree with some previous guests regarding it requiring an update but, as we spent our time by the pool, it didn't really affect our stay. Rodrigo is an excellent host...so helpful and attentive. He did everything possible to ensure that we enjoyed our holiday. It's a lovely area...the bus stop being a few yards away, a great chinese restaurant and bakery/cafe opposite and a supermarket a few minutes away. We used Ubers to get around most of the time...they are cheap and efficient.

Family stay

Had a lovely week in this villa. 11 of us from age 6 to 70. Heated pool was great and ouside dining area was fab. Compact but enough room for us all. Close to beach and we worked out a short cut by the supermarket too. A quiet area with restaurants dotted around and a great cafe over the road. No real shopping street, but we went to Albufeira for the day. over t rewith

Fantastic Villa

We were a family of 5 (3teenagers) we had such a great holiday in the villa! The pool was beautiful and bigger than we expected which was great! Rodrigo was very respectful and helpful though we had no problems during our stay. There was plenty of space and everything was spotlessly clean. The kitchen had all amenities needed for a relaxing stay and the washing machine meant we could really save on luggage space! Really hope to return again soon. The town was lovely and the beach is spectacular and within walking distance. I’d highly recommend this place for families. Thanks for a lovely holiday Rodrigo!

The owner was really nice and helpful showing us everything we needed to know about the villa the pool was heated and he arranged our transfers which were all included in the price which was great the villa itself was clean but is a bit dated as mentioned by a previous visitor however this didn’t spoil our stay.

Lovely stay

Really enjoyed our stay villa has everything you need, is clean however needs a little updating. The area is lovely everything is just a short walk to restaurants and shops, the beach is about 10 minute walk and is beautiful. The owner was very helpful I would book again

Perfect villa and location

Rodrigo was very helpful before we even stayed at his place contacting us in advance to arrange things. He let us know the villa was ready earlier than the official check in time and greeted us when we arrived, showed us round and let us know everything that was nearby. He even booked a caves and dolphins boat trip for us at a discount and could not have been more helpful staying in contact with us throughout our stay. The villa is lovely and big with plenty of room with a pool that catches the sun all day long. There was a TV in every bedroom and a huge one in the lounge. The bedrooms are all a great size and there’s a balcony for the top 2 bedrooms across the width of the villa. It had everything we needed during our stay and is in a perfect location with a cafe directly opposite and a great Chinese restaurant. There’s plenty of other bars and restaurants in walking distance too. The nearest supermarket is a short walk and was a big enough shop that we didn’t need to go to a bigger supermarket. There are some great beaches nearby and Praia da Galé is absolutely massive and never got close to being crowded. The port of Albufeira where we got the the boat trip from is 10 minutes or so away and there are loads more bars and restaurants there. Highly recommended, we would happily stay again.

Family Holiday

Fantastic villa , big rooms , lovey terrace and warm pool. Great for outside entertaining . Very clean and very well equipped. Handy for restaurants, beach is 10 mins beach and lovely . Easy to find a quiet beach but also lots of beach bars . Safe neighbourhood. Easy to get to Albuferia in a taxi €5 in 10 minutes. Great host Rodrigo was very helpful and friendly . I would go again and fantastic value for money.

Family visit

Rodrigo was helpful with advise, directions and information whenever we required. It is a very relaxed villa close to the beach, pubs and restaurants. This was our second visit and we'll be back again.

Great Villa, Pool & Location

This was an extended family holiday with 7 adults and 4 children and there was plenty of room for everyone! The Villa clean, spacious and cool with plenty of air conditioning available. The heated pool was just right as we had children ranging in age from 1 to 7 but still accommodated the adults. The kitchen was a little tired but very well equipped for the number of guests. There were 3 child friendly bedrooms downstairs. The 2 bedrooms upstairs were less child friendly due to the stone spiral stairs. It would have been useful to have a floor plan during the booking process as the picture’s became confusing as to their locations. The outside eating space was superb and most of it well shaded from the sun. There was a great cafe quite literally across the road as well as a Chinese restaurant, with other restaurants within easy walking distance. Similarly, the beach (also with a number of restaurants) was only a 10 minute easy walk away. The owner was very friendly and gave advice on the local area. He also covered to pool at night and uncovered it early morning. The airport transfer being included was an additional bonus. We all had a great holiday!

Relaxing holiday

Lovely stay in Gale 2 families total 12. Villa in a great location walking distance to beach and some beautiful coves. Apolonia supermarket 5 min walk for daily items. Uber to Aldi for main shop. Colibr 11 across road lovely coffee, buns and icecreams. Restaurants dotted around, all within a short walk and all very good. Cocktail bar across from Mr Singh, Indian very good as well. A very relaxing week. Rodrigo a lovely host and around if needed. Pool heated and a great hit with all. Thankyou for a great holiday thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Wonderful villa perfect location

We are a family of 7 with 5 kids ranging from 15-20 years old. We had a wonderful stay at this incredibly well equipped villa. It ticks every single box and even a few extra boxes (like aircon in the kitchen)! We've had countless family villa holidays over the years and this villa is by far the best located we've ever stayed at. It is directly opposite a Chinese restaurant (delicious) a cafe/bar and a small shop. The cafe is incredibly good value (burger for €3.80) and so convenient kids would just pop over the road for lunch. The villa is within 10 minutes walk of the beach the (expensive) supermarket and at least 8 restaurants all with great ambience and great food. You do not need a car! Anything a bit further away like Aldi (20 minute walk) or Albufeira you can take an Uber which is never more than a minute or two away. There are Ubers waiting in the Aldi car park and it's a 2 min and €3 Uber back to the villa with your shopping. Albufeira is a 10 minute drive roughly €9. The beach is beautiful one of the best in the algarve. Long and sandy perfect for long walks. There are areas with beach restaurants beds for hire and all the water sports you can think of. I couldn't recommend this villa more!

What an amazing time in Portugal! It was just outstanding. Very beautiful 5 bedrooms house.

The house is just beautiful. 5 bedrooms with 4 shower rooms. The swimming pool Is heated which makes everything great and my kids really enjoyed the stay. They spent most of their time in the swimming 🏊‍♂️ pool. The beach and shops are just close by, walking distance. Rodrigo the owner is so nice and kind and is always available to help. He booked our transfer from and to faro airport with no extra cost. Thank you very much Rodrigo for you help.

The property spacious and we spent most of our time either at the beach or in the pool. Two beaches within walking distance, pubs and restaurants within walking distance and if you want to go further, the airport transfer lady will taxi you or arrange alternative transport. Will visit there again

Good location

The property is spacious and well set out. The kitchen is very well equipped and we especially liked the outdoor barbecue which was located next to the kitchen. The interior decor is a bit tired and would benefit from some modernisation but nothing too much to worry about. We were a party of 8 adults and it suited us very well. Rodrigo the owner was there to meet us when we arrived and is a really nice chap. One criticism would be that the property is advertised as having a heated pool but it does not specify that additional charges apply if you wish for the pool to be heated. We didn't bother and it suited us to get into a cold pool as the weather was so hot!

Peaceful location with easy access to amenities

We have just returned home from a lovely week spent at Rodrigo’s villa in Gale with 2 other couples. Our plan was to have a chill out week by the pool and we were more than able to do that with 1 supermarket directly across the road and another larger slightly cheaper one within a 5 minute walk where we could stock up with supplies. The beaches were a little further away but worth the 10 minute walk. The villa itself was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need including Wi-Fi, tv, dishwasher, microwave, and ample dishes, glasses etc. The deck area by the pool was well used for eating and drinking throughout the holiday but the huge bonus was the heated pool. There were also a number of bars and restaurants again within walking distance when we felt the need to venture out. Rodrigo himself was very welcoming and on hand should we have had any issues. We would be happy to book again in the future.

Algarve Holiday

Excellent holiday, the heated pool was an added bonus in and out every day, cooking meals was a breeze everything you could ask for was at hand. The property was clean and was very spacious in a perfect surrounding, their is a supermarket just a stones throw away well stock and excellent prices, the Appolino supermarket is very expensive great for one off items. Rodrigo was on hand 24/7, However we had no issues but he was very helpful with he’s local nolage. Would definitely recomend this property. Many thanks Rodrigo Neil Hughes and friends.

Great Family Holiday

We just spent a week at the villa with 2 small children. The villa itself was clean and had lots of space, it is a little dated as previous reviews mention but overall it had everything we needed. The heated pool was a fantastic addition and we were barely out of it. The location is also great, walking distance to bars, beaches and supermarkets!

Nice, relaxing stay

We were a party of 13 (6 adults and 7 children) but we weren’t overcrowded - two sets of adults did have to share their bedroom with a child/children, but there were several bathrooms or en suites. The villa was a little tired decor wise, but was lovely and spacious inside and the heated pool was brilliant, especially in early April! There wasn’t a huge amount of garden for the children to play in, but they spent most of the time in the pool and there are plenty of sun loungers. The two local beaches were within walking distance and are definitely worth a visit. We did proper self catering and found the kitchen to be fairly well equipped on the whole (could have done with a vegetable peeler!) but otherwise fine and the washing machine and dishwasher were used daily. The local supermarket (Apolonia) was within easy walking distance but we found it incredibly expensive, double or triple the price of food in England! We got round this by getting a taxi to Lidl (11 euros each way) and did a huge shop there, which was much more affordable. Rodrigo was an excellent host and was on hand to sort out any queries. We were struggling with the lack of decent bedding as it was quite chilly at night, but Rodrigo had a whole sack of brand new pillows and duvets delivered - we only wish we had said something sooner! The beds were a little firm and not overly comfortable, but some people prefer that. There was a huge tv in the lounge - we signed into our Amazon and Netflix accounts and watched British films and programmes through that. The weather was a bit hit and miss initially, we had a couple of rainy days (but you have to expect that in April) and the weather was great for the rest of our time there. Overall we had a lovely stay at the villa and have no complaints. It was in a nice area and close enough to the beach and supermarkets to manage without a hire car. We recommend this villa and it was fine for 13 people. Thank you Rodrigo!

Property was a bit tired but acceptable

The villa offered everything you needed for staying there. The TV wasn’t working which was a shame especially on cooler nights. There are beds everywhere. The pictures make it look much better than it is but it was clean. The beds are really firm, which suited me great. Some in our party thought the pillows were too soft but again they suited me. It was a nice place to stay but there is not much in the area to do you need to travel out a bit. The owner popped in a couple of times to make sure everything was okay. He is a very nice person and chatty. He now has the villa up for sale which I presume is the reason it is looking tired as he does not want to do anything at this time. Had a nice time and the heated pool was a hit with everyone. Directly across the road is a fantastic coffee shop well worth a visit.....

It was great!

We loved staying here. There were: Plenty of local beaches and beach bars to walk to, Lots of space in the villa for a large group with plenty of space, bathrooms, toilets and equipment in the kitchen, A supermarket within walking distance, although Aldi and Lidl were better for major shops, Plenty of local custard tarts to buy!!! Convenient location, nice villa very friendly and attentive owner

We very much enjoyed our stay, there are plenty of amenities including 2 beaches within easy walking distance yet the location is quiet in the evenings, ideal for our young family. Villa is well maintained and Rodrigo the owner was very helpful. Zoomarine and water parks were an easy car journey away as well as algarve shopping. Overall the accommodation was good value for money
