The property is centrally located, just a short walk from Anne Franks house and approx 10 mins from Dam Square . The property is not 5 star, however it was perfect for what we needed it for to rest our heads after exploring Amsterdam. Communication with Paul was very easy through the VRBO app Nd we really enjoyed the stay and will be back!!
Only met Paul briefly after arrival. Always very prompt responding to pre visit questions. Property itself very spacious, extremely quiet residential area yet on doorstep sightseeing attractions. I know very reasonable price for location but I do agree other reviews that property has so much potential if it had a bit of minor work done on it e.g repaint walls, tidy up courtyard area, various internal repairs. Overall it suited us fine for a 3 day stay to enable us to see much of the city & had ample cooking utensils & cookware for self catering yet good variety eateries nearby.
Ideal central location for exploring Amsterdam. Very close to Anne Franks House.
Large and warm apartment with very comfortable bed and a hot powerful shower. There’s a small outside patio too.
The apartment was equipped with everything you needed and more for a stay in Amsterdam.
There are numerous restaurants and bars within 10 mins walking and several bakeries and supermarkets.
The host is on hand to answer any questions you may have. It was a lovely touch, greeting us with a bottle of wine.
We’d love to stay again when we next visit Amsterdam. Thank you!
I went with my three daughters for a long weekend. The location is absolutely perfect for walking and exploring the beautiful city of Amsterdam. With the canals and markets just a couple of minutes from the front door it has everything you need and a supermarket just round the corner.
If you are looking for immaculate and pristine interiors, thiabisnt rhenplace for you, but if you want a base to pop back to during the day that is comfortable and has all the basics you need for an affordable price then I can't rate Paul and this apartment highly enough.
(The pin drop on the map isn't quite right so make sure to use the address not the pin drop.)
I will absolutely be back here again, it had everything we needed for our weekend of adventures!
We had a fantastic stay at the apartment, which although basic has everything you’ll need for a short stay.
The location is unbeatable with supermarkets, bars etc all within easy reach.
Paul is a great host and friendly to communicate with.
Many thanks
This is a 'no frills' apartment but it had everything we needed for our stay as a base - comfortable beds, decent facilities in the kitchen, excellent location for exploring the city! Our host was very friendly and responsive.
The apartment is in a really good location, a lovely area with shops, cafes etc and a good coffeeshop nearby. The host Paul is cheerful and very helpful and accommodating. The facilities are good and the apartment is great for smokers. We would definitely stay there again. Many thanks.
Thanks Paul, we really enjoyed our stay at your apartment. We had everything we needed and loads of space. Fantastic value for money and would definitely stay again!!
The apartment has everything you need and very comfy bed. owner was very responsive. The area is perfect for exploring Amsterdam. Thanks, we had a great holiday!

Perfect location
We enjoyed the location and could walk to most places.
Myself and my wife thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pauls accommodation. The location was just perfect (Jordaan is lovely).
Communication was quick and easy - especially given all the trouble we had getting to Amsterdam (all flights from the UK were cancelled and we had fo fly out the following day). Paul was very understanding and stayed in regular contact right up til we arrived.
The accommodation was perfect for us and the stress of 2 days travel soon disappeared (a lovely bottle of wine from Paul helped with that !).
The accommodation was very much a home rather than a hotel, which is what we were after.
I'd happily recommend staying here and hope to do so again in the future.
Our host was very accommodating. He met us on arrival and took time to explain everything.
Appreciated the hot water and dishwasher.
Our host always replied promptly. He looked after our luggage on our last day as we had an even
Paul was a friendly host and made us feel welcome. The apartment is extremely spacious and has a good amount of natural light for a basement flat. Some of the furniture and fittings such as the bathroom tiles are pretty old and tatty, but the apartment has real character and faded charm. There was plenty of hot water and the rooms were well heated. The double bed was very comfortable and it was peaceful at night. My daughter (age 11) slept well on the sofa bed. You really can’t fault the location, right in the heart of Amsterdam and a few seconds away from the beautiful Prince’s Canal. If you want 5-star luxury I would say look elsewhere, but if you want basic accommodation with a bit of character in a brilliant location, this would be worth considering.

Dont take your wife here
When we arrived there was a terrible smell in the appartment. There was no double bed, the walls above the headboard were crumbling. The bathroom was dirty, shower not attatched to wall and unfit for use. We decided to go and spend some of our holiday money booking a hotel and left this place. Im sure the owner will reply under this with a whole load of excuses, as he has done with others. But the guys morals must be real low to rent such a run down flat to holiday makers. Really bad start to our holiday and cost us money.

I'm living here now for almost 30 years. I saw this area rising to the nicest area in Amsterdam. I live here now with my family upstairs. The plan is in the future to live at the basement as well. It is a beautifull place with a beautifull patio. I put a new bathroom and kitchen in it at the end of 2012 because of two reviews. Because I'm living upstairs I don't want any complaints.
Why they chose this property
It is still a quiet apartment in the middle of the centre. For me it is the best neighbourhood of Amsterdam.
What makes this property unique
You can walk/cycle to every part in the centre within 10-15 minutes. Lot of restaurants and bars. Markets and good shops. Within 10 minutes in a park. In fact everything is available.
