This modern 4 bedroom villa offers the perfect base for your Costa De La Luz Holiday. 'Mandevilla' is a large (150m²) traditional Spanish style villa build to a very high standard (Completed June 2004). The villa is furnished and fully equipped in a clean contemporary style.

The large (1200m²) walled garden is secluded and secure, and landscaped with patio, wicker pergolas, English lawn, lemon and olive trees and climbing plants. You have your own enclosed private 10m x 5m Roman style swimming pool with sun shower.

3 minutes drive to the resort of Novo Sancti Petri, the Severiano Ballesteros 36 hole golf course and the beautiful blue flag La Barrosa Beach.

Lovely villa, great for families

Absolutely loved staying here! The villa wS beautiful, had everything we need. Easy drive to the beach which was such a beautiful beach! Would absolutely recommend and visit again

Lovely spacious villa

This villa is large and well kept for the most part, it is wheelchair accessible upto the bathrooms with a very low step into both doors on the outside of the villa, the bathroom doors are too narrow for wheelchairs to pass through so if you cannot stand at all the bathrooms are out of bounds unfortunately.

The villa was great, although we had some problems with the water heater going off, but several calls to Paul and it was sorted. The pool was something else, very disappointed, the pool was very dirty with a lot of insects etc, I also complained about the floor and sides being scummy, the pool man was called by Paul. Although he cleaned the pool it was better but only for a couple of days, again we complained to Paul More insects the pump wars not working, it was very unpleasant we didn't want to use the pool and that was what we wanted to enjoy having our own pool, I feel disappointed the pool was unusable because the pool company didn't sort out the filters and we were swimming with bugs Paul did his best to sort it out.

Very well maintained property, difficult to find faults. I would strongly recommend it.

The villa was in a very quiet and peaceful area of Chiclana de la Frontera, within easy reach of facilities which one requires when on holiday, shopping and restaurants. I will not comment on other facilities nearby since we spent all the days in the swimming pool. A number of points which were not to our satisfaction were; On the first two evenings, we suffered power cuts, however these lasted for about ten minutes. The fact that we could not dispose of paper in the toilets, when using these. (Not accustomed to this ). We noticed on the second day of our stay, that the pool appeared to have to much chlorine and bathing costumes which had white section, started turning green. Thus we ended up using the same costumes all the time. (This should be looked at). As requested we did not go into the pool with sun-cream. One other aspect was that when using the plates, some where dirty, as if not having been washed. However we realized that if plates when placed in the dishwasher were very close to each other some were not cleaned, thus we spaced these out. Having stayed in past years between Chiclana and Conil we have had very little problems with mosquito's, this year they were unbearable, even though we had gone prepared and taken mosquito repellent creams and night tablets, everyone suffered from mosquito bites. I understand this cannot be controlled by the agent or owner. This we considered was our worst nightmare. Will consider going back again next year. Angela thanks for your kind attention. Villa was luvly and clean and spacious. Swimming pool was exceptional and clean.

Had a great week at Mandevilla lots of beautiful beaches nearby, and places to visit, Cadiz was beautiful and Jerez was a luvly place to visit. Weather was very hot so didn't need to leave the villa as spent the day in the pool.

Spacious and simply furnished which kept it cool and uncluttered with a spacious garden.

As a family of 7 we had a great time at the villa. Lots of space so we weren't on top of each other. Great garden space so my twin 6 year olds could play football safely away from the pool. The pool was really well looked after ( which has been a problem in the past), big and deep so great for real swimming as well as having fun since we all like the water. Only 10 mins from the fabolous Barossa beach which enabled a great balance with the energy of the beach with the peace of a villa. All in all we had a great time as we always do in this area.

Excellent return visit

Little to add to our 2013 review - the fact that we came back for more says it all, especially as we were lucky enough to stay for 4 weeks this time! Very peaceful setting but within a short drive of La Barrosa beach: great walks along the beach, superb sunsets and plenty of restaurants & bars. Mandevilla is very comfortable and well equipped. Our son, daughter-in-law & 15 month old grand-daughter joined us for a week and we had all the facilities we needed. The grounds are really extensive which gives a wonderfully spacious feel - many other villas can feel "boxy". The pool is brilliant. Oh, and keep an eye out for hoopoe birds in the garden. Highly recommended.

secluded luxury villa in stuning setting

Our family (with 4 children under 11) stayed at the villa. The standard of the villa is excellent, beautifully furnished and tastefully decorated. The gardens and swimming pool are fantastic. The pool is particularly good for proper swimming and there is also a shallow area with steps for smaller children. There is shaded seating area, and a large patio area for alfresco dining. The beach is a few minutes drive and is outstanding ,with miles of golden sand. We went to a number of authentic Spanish restaurants and tapas bars. A great location for a family holiday.

Marvellous Mandevilla

Excellent villa with loads of space and very comfortable and well equipped accommodation. We can only echo the comments of previous reviewers. Beautiful garden with many different areas to sit, both in and out the sun. The setting sun on the umbrella pines at the front was a perfect spot for evening apéritiv. Brilliant pool which we used every day. There were only two of us, but the villa would be excellent for families, with areas fenced off for safety if young children in the party. As has been made clear, you need a car. There are some beautiful stretches of beach, including the main Barrosa and also the old Sancti Petri to the north of the town where there is now a marina. Conil, Roche, Vejer (lovely tiled fountain in Plaza de España) all nearby, with Cadiz, Jerez and Medina Sidonia close enough for day trips. This is an area we love and have been to many times. Mandevilla is the best villa in Chiclana we have stayed in so far, and we fully intend to return. Highly recommended.

Mandevilla

This villa has everything you need, the pool is fantastic. We were a family of seven and we had a great time. It is withing walking distance to a restaurant and five minutes drive to a wonderful beach. The manager is really helpful and the owner is an excellent communicator. The only small niggle was the water pressure but I believe that is common in Spain Derek and maggie Gibraltar

Lovely villa

We had a week full of fun with our twins at Mandevilla in May. Angie managed the property and met us to settle us in and was there before we left - she was great with emailing us directions prior to our stay too. We flew into Gibraltar, crossed the border on foot and collected a hire car the other side rather than at the airport (so glad we did as the queue to get in and out of Gibraltar by car can be very long). The villa is lovely with a beautiful pool (just a little cold for the kids). It was perfectly clean on our arrival with toys and cots set out for our 2 year olds. The garden is divided in two with the pool being gated on one side of the house and swings and slides on the other so very child friendly. We mostly ate outside on the shaded terrace and there are 3 or 4 supermarkets a short drive away. It's only a brief drive to the beautiful Barrosa beach and a good location for a few different town trips too, Cadiz and Vejer de la Frontera are both worth a wander around although we stayed mainly on the beaches as the kids are not so keen on sightseeing at their age. There's also a large golf club on the way to Barrosa beach which looked popular. Lunches out with the children were fine as everyone was very kind despite the chaos our two are at the table! We'd definitely recommend Mandevilla and the area and will go back one day when the children permit more sightseeing.

We had a lovely stay at the villa in september 2010. We have been Holidaying in Chiclana for 20+ years In different Hotels/ Villas But we are returning in June 2011 To Mandervilla as we enjoyed it so much there was everything you could ask for and more. The villa was very clean and well maintained.The garden was perfect for all the family especially for my 7 year old son. The pool was perfect for us and we enjoyed lots of time swimming and sunbathing. The agents were brilliant and welcomed us into the villa and were very helpful with any information we required.We found the beach only a few minutes drive. The shops/supermarket and restaurants at Novo Sancti Petri are only 5 mins drive from the villa. We are so happy that we are able to book for June 2011 and we would have no problem reccomending this villa to any of our friends or family . We can't wait to get there again. Fantastic Villa

We have stayed in the La Barrosa area several times now and this villa has been the best. Is was clean, comfortable, well equipped (we like to cook on holiday) and the location was good for going to the beaches, into town further afield. The aircon was a bonus. There was a very friendly venta in walking distance, great for a nightcap. The swimming pool was superb, getting the sun all day made it just the right temperature. We will definately go there again.

Fantastic villa with wonderful garden and pool

We spent a fantastic week in Mandevilla. The house is very well equipped, everything is very clean an in excellent condition. The garden is great with a wonderful pool. We very much enjoyed our stay. We made very interesting trips to Ronda, Cadiz, Medina Sidonia, Vejer de la Frontera and Gibraltar. I highly recommend to visit the archeological excavation of the Roman city Baelo Claudia near Bolonia. We thank you very much for having given us the opportunity to stay in your beautiful house and we really intend to come back soon. Thanks to Angela for the warm welcome and the good service. Vacaciones Mandevilla

Ha sido una semana estupenda. Hemos estado muy cómodos y hemos disfrutado mucho. Tanto la casa como los exteriores han ayudado a que las vacaciones hayan sido geniales. Sólo pondría una nota menos positiva y es el tema del agua que en el baño de la habitación principal, no salía con buena presión. Además de la gran cantidad de hormigas que había en el salón. Esto último solo como observación ya que no hemos utilizado esta estancia en toda la semana, pasando la mayor parte del tiempo en exteriores. Muchas gracias por todo. Vanesa

Perfect villa in Chiclana

Perfect place to stay in Chiclana. 10 min drive to the beach and well connected to visit the whole area. The apartment is spacious, clean and well equipped. Everything worked well except the water boiler that was often failing. The pool is big and super clean. Highly recommended.

Casa perfecta para unos días de relax

Hemos estado una semana 4 adultos con 3 niños pequeños, ha cumplido con nuestras expectativas. Buena situación a menos de 10 minutos en coche de la playa de la barrosa. Muy bien equipada, Electrodomesticos nuevos al año igual que el aire acondicionado por conductos en toda la vivienda. La piscina y la zona de piscina una maravilla. Totalmente recomendable.

Hi, I'm Andrew owner of Mandevilla. I currently live in Dorchester, Dorset with my wife Emma and 4 children; a daughter aged 11, twin 8 year old girls and my baby boy aged 7. I grew up in Cardiff, Wales and studied Engineering at Loughborough University.

I married my wife Emma (from Ruislip) 16 years ago and we moved to Weymouth where we set up her Estate Agency, Direct Moves, which still trades successfully now.

I am based at home and spend most of my time divided between childcare and restoring our 18th century Manor House.

Why they chose this property

We visited this area of Spain one weekend in 2003 with a budget of 100,000 Euros with the intention of buying a villa for family holidays. We ended up spending two and a half times as much to buy Mandevilla off plan. We realised the location was perfect knew that this modern spacious villa would offer the perfect base for our Holidays on the Costa de la Luz.

We have shared the villa with over 100 holidaymakers over the last 9 years and Mandevilla still looks fantastic!

What makes this property unique

The builder responsible for Mandevilla clearly had very high standards; rarely the case for villas in rural parts of Andalusia. The villa always feels fresh, clean and new.

The garden is professionally maintained and laid to lawn so children can run and play freely. The pool was built to the same high standards as the villa and carefully maintained and chemically balanced by a dedicated pool contractor.

The suburb of Las Veguetas is perfectly situated with easy access to all the attractions of the Costa de la Luz (especially the beach). The necessary amenities are also really convenient with a choice of supermarkets including Lidl for the cost conscious.

The neighbours are quiet and friendly.

I believe we were very lucky to have discovered Mandevilla!
