Scottish vacation

Edinburgh Stay

We loved the apartment in Edinburgh - was easy walking to most of the areas we wanted to visit (though it was 'damp' most of the visit - always remember to dress accordingly!). The apartment was great - easy access and exceptionally clean and well organized. Owner was very communicative and willing to help. All made for a great visit and we hope to return in the future! Thanks again for helping make this a great stay.

Modern apartment in Historic city

Absolutely beautiful and well-appointed apartment in the heart of Edinburgh, Scotland! It was a ten minute walk to the Castle and Royal Mile, and a two minute walk to The Meadows. We saw new neighborhoods in one of our favorite cities. Close to history, restaurants, and parks, and the Lothian bus lines.

Great place! Confirm key pickup location first

This place was wonderful. VRBO check in note provided a code number, but the host provided a pickup location to be used with the code but VRBO did not send it. We arrived at midnight without a key or knowledge of where to obtain it. Thankfully host Joanne returned my phone call and told me where to get key. She was polite and we do not blame her at all. Just be sure with any bookings that check in is clear

Spacious ( for city), safe area, very well equipped, food store near by, short walks to tourist attractions. Joanne very responsive. A bit inconvenient to have to get keys and return keys at another location and drying clothes a long process ( due to set up of washer/dryer).

Modern and quiet accommodations close to the Royal Mile and University of Edinburgh

A great way to start our vacation staying at very modern apartment backing up to the Meadows and in the shadow of the University of Edinburgh. Everything was new, despite being so close to the old city and with the Fringe happening all around us the apartment and Simpson Loan were very private. Excellent restaurants in the neighborhood as well as the Coop for groceries. A special shout-out to Joanne who made sure we had a smoothie blender to accommodate my wife's breakfast needs. All communications were quick. My only minor complaint would be the key pick up and drop off at the IBIS on Hunter Square was hectic so it was a pleasure when we finally arrived at the apartment and were able to settle in. Highly recommend.

Location Location Location

We had 2 nights which were not long enough! This is a very modern 2nd floor apt/condo in a secure building with all of the amenities. Washer/dryer and drying rack came in handy with all of the rain we experienced. Downside was the key pick up process. For someone not familiar with driving or walking in Edinburgh, it was not ideal to try to find our way to the Ibis Hotel for the key after we had secured the car in the Quatermile Q-Park. The unit is a bit tired looking with smudges on some of the walls and nicks in the drywall but nevertheless clean and tidy. The sofa, however, was stained. Still enjoyed our stay.

Great Place but Difficult Check in and out

A great property to stay in and same for location. Difficult key pick up and drop off; especially drop off before 10:00 AM when all the taxis our taking people to the Castle and you are trying to drive to Ibis Hotel to drop off key.

Functional Excellence in the Heart of Edinburgh

Joanne’s flat lived up to its listing. It was immaculate, well-furnished, albeit spare, and highly functional. The combo oven/microwave and combo washer/dryer are a mystery at first, but great once you figure them out. The building is very quiet. The location is superb—adjacent to the university, less than 10 minutes to the Royal Mile and15 minutes to New Town or Morningside. A grocery store, Starbucks, two cafes, and a really good Malaysian restaurant are steps away. There was some confusion at check-in as to where the key was located and the wi-fi passcode, but these were quickly rectified. Joanne is an excellent communicator. One word of warning to other elderly travelers like us,: the bathtub is quite deep and getting in and out can be a challenge.

We really enjoyed our stay in Edinburgh, here is what is great about this apartment: - Exactly as pictured, decor is very soothing and the bed was comfy - Very easy check-in and check-out - Nice quiet part of the city but still close to grocery and restaurants. - Easy walking distance to Old Town and The Royal Mile especially once you learn a few shortcuts - Conveniently located to bus stops - Communication with Joanne was great, it was nice to know she was there if we needed her but wasn't intrusive either We were very happy with our choice of this apartment and highly recommend. Perfect to see it all!

We could not have been happier with our stay. Very clean, very convenient to everywhere we wanted to see (We walked to Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, National Gallery, National Museum of Scotland...everything!) There was a safe and clean public garage down the block for 16 pounds per day (not cheap, but parking is difficult) and a nearby grocery store and coffee shop for everything that we needed. Just perfect!

Awesome apartment in a perfect location!

My husband and I stayed at Joanne's apartment during our first trip to Edinburgh. It is a very nice condo - great layout, nice building. It was an absolute perfect location - great amenities for food and coffee shops right across the street, and walking distance to old town Edinburgh. We will absolutely look to stay here again if/when we return to Edinburgh. Joanne was fantastic to deal with. She was flexible with check in and out times to accommodate our flights, and she is very responsive. She also has built in very little complexity to access her apartment when you arrive. This property has a great location and is well appointed.

I really like the location of this property, it is the Quartermile area which is surprisingly a very quiet area of the city. The property is right next to Holyrood park but is only a few minutes walk from many of Edinburgh's primary attractions. (Royal Mile, Castle, Scottish Museum, Grey Friars, Holyrood Park etc. ) I could walk everywhere within 15 minutes. The property was in perfect condition, very modern and well appointed. I was very comfortable during my 12 day stay. I also liked the fact it was close to the university as I was visiting my son who was attending the University of Edinburgh. There are also a couple of nice restaurants just within a couple of minutes walk, also a Starbucks! I would recommend this property to anyone who would like a relaxing place in Edinburgh that is close to all the attractions.

Situated on the edge of beautiful ‘Meadows’ park, the property is in an enviable position with lots of open space right on its doorstep, but with historic tourist attractions such as the Grassmarket and the Edinburgh’s Old Town just a few minutes walk away you really have the best of all worlds. The apartment is also a stones throw away for business travellers working in the central business district or at the University of Edinburgh.

Fashionable George Street and the West End, with their cosmopolitan bars, restaurants and bespoke shops are close by and also within walking distance is the city’s cultural quarter including the Traverse Theatre, Lyceum, Usher Hall, Cameo and Filmhouse independent cinemas as are the trendy cafes and boutiques of Bruntsfield and Morningside.
