Lovely Villa

Really lovely, clean villa in a stunning location however you need a car to drive into Podgora where parking is very difficult, especially in August, as it's very busy. We had a couple of issues with coffee machine not working, no gas for the BBQ and no parasols but this was dealt with quickly by Iva although one small parasol by the pool was not enough (5 of us huddled under it at one point). There was a lack of cups and glasses especially when 7 people are drinking water all day (possibly only around 7 or 8 glasses in total) and there were no plastic cups or glasses for the pool area which was dangerous, especially with children. We had to buy single use plastic cups to use by the pool which is really bad for the environment. On a positive note though the villa was very spacious and comfortable, including the beds and sofas and having an en-suite to each bedroom was just brilliant. I would recommend this villa, just needs a few more things in the kitchen.

Family holiday in Podgora

Had such a lovely time in this modern and we'll equipped villa. Such a great location although being a bit remote from the main town hire car is recommended. There are some lovely seaside villages and towns along the coast all providing excellent food and service. Great restaurants locally and the private parking bay in podgora is great to have. Had such a great relaxing time. Recommend biokovo national park, although with a 9 seater mini bus it was a bit tight at times. Also a trip over to Mostar is a must. All in all a great location, excellent villa with everything you need.

Excellent villa

Beautifully appointed villa in a lovely quiet location. All of the rooms were tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard. The villa afforded lots of interior space for cooking, watching TV and dining etc, but also had a great exterior dining, lounge and bbq area. The pool was a good size and the villa had lots of extras with the sauna, decent WiFi and the private parking on the front in Podgora.

Beautiful Villa with Stunning Views

This was our family holiday with mixed ages and the villa suited everyone. The views are stunning and we got a front row seat watching a thunderstorm happening over the islands where the lightning did not disappoint. The villa is a 10 minute drive from the local village and supermarket up a windy road. The villa has everything you need and is finished to a high end level. It is lovely sitting out in the evening with all the candle lanterns looking out at the sea watching the sun go down. We never used the pool as it wasn't heated, so too cold to use; but in the evening with the lights on it is lovely to sit around. Whilst there is local info about restaurants and trips available, there is no local information about resorts near to you and what they offer and how far they are. This would be helpful. Note that parking anywhere is a nightmare - make sure you have lots of coins. We had a lovely break and the villa would suit families or anyone who is a keen cyclist as it is on a big cycle route.

Croatian Delight!

What a wonderful part of the world to relax and unwind in - made all the better by staying in this beautiful villa. We have just returned from spending a week here and missing it already. It catered for all our needs as a party of 8 adults with plenty of space to either be together to play cards and enjoy a drink or find that quieter area to sit and read a book. Great fun was had in the pool with all the inflatables! A must is to enjoy a 'sundowner' cocktail on the balcony above the pool and watch the magnificent sunset each evening. It's such a quiet and tranquil place being located on the hillside - so a car is a must - but Podgora and Makarska are really nearby for either eating out or getting the groceries. We would really recommend this stunning property - thanks Iva.

Beautifully presented to a very high standard

We would agree with all the other previous reviews. We have rented many holiday homes worldwide for our family of five and it is difficult, for the price, to find one of this standard throughout. It is beautifully presented with lots of thoughtful touches. The terraces with wonderful views add to a very exclusive feel. Croatia obviously has much to offer and if you want to stay near the coast on the mainland, this is a great spot. The nearby village is obviously far busier than it would be out of season but we suggest hiring a boat to escape and discover the beautiful bays!

A fantastic house with stunning views of the sea all make this a relaxing place for a holiday.

This is an amazing house with all you could wish for and Iva made us feel very welcome with her generosity. We are a family of 7 adults and went to celebrate my 60th birthday. The younger generation were paying their own way(as much as Mum and Dad would like to have funded it all) and were very happy with the price they paid for the luxury accommodation they received. On arrival there was a locally made birthday cake with ice cream and Limoncello in the freezer, provided by Iva so thoughtful. The house is even better than the photos show it to be. The furnishings are very tasteful and all mod con's are provided. From the espresso coffee machine to the fridge down by the swimming pool. We spent a lot of time relaxing around the pool reading and swimming but also went out on trips. We did a food and wine tasting tour in Markarska and a boat trip to Havar for a day, both were great fun and we would do them again. We ate out in Podgora on two occasions, we left the car there in the private parking spot and got a taxi back which wasn't expensive. It was fun the next day discovering a walk down the hillside to collect the car, plenty of figs were picked off the trees on our way. The other evenings we cooked on the BBQ it was just so lovely sitting on the terrace playing games and drinking wine. All in all it was a great holiday and we would highly recommend this wonderful house.

Fabulous home overlooking Padgora

This is one of the nicest homes that we've rented. We loved the pool and the view. The home is modern, comfortable and very well designed. The home is furnished with great appliances and a fully stocked kitchen. This home is a lovely place for a summer holiday.

Superb

Villa Iva was absolutely wonderful, spotlessly clean with everything a family could possibly need. We travelled as a family of five plus two grandparents. The youngest in the party was three and everyone had a wonderful time. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher (plus dishwasher tablets, which is really nice), coffee machine, toaster, oven, hob and microwave. A washing machine is located downstairs. The bedrooms are spread over two floors with the kitchen and living area on a level between. The bedrooms are a great size and the bathrooms are of excellent quality in every room. The beds are very comfortable and linen changed once per week along with bathroom towels and pool towels. The pool area is reached by steep steps (there are also a lot of steps indoors so my only warning would be think carefully if you have a very young child or bad knees!) and was kept spotless by Ivan who visited almost daily. There are fabulous views over the sea and stunning sunsets every night. The top terrace makes a great place for barbecues and leisurely lunches or breakfasts. The middle terrace provided a shady area for reading outside the three bedrooms or a good spot to admire the view. Podgora is a short drive down the hill and is a small but pretty town with a number of pebbly beaches. The sea is crystal clear and there are a few good places to eat. Iva gave us a key for a parking place on the front which made it really easy to park in the centre of all the action day and night. We took Iva's advice and visited Tucepi's Restaurant Jenny one evening which was quite probably the best food in the world! Dubrovnik is a must- a couple of hours drive (take a passport) but the wiggly coast road is stunning. Markaska is fifteen minutes away with a big Konsum supermarket (Podgora is okay for basic supplies- the supermarket is small and there is a good fruit stall and a couple of small bakeries) and is a livelier town for those looking for a busier experience! I would thoroughly recommend Villa Iva to families or a group of couples. It is spacious and superbly presented. Just don't tell too many people! Thanks Iva and family.

All I can say is - WOW!!

Shhh … can you keep a secret? I’ve found a great holiday family home in a luxury villa. I know that this review may be longer than normal, but I can’t stop raving about it & this took my breath away. I'm now in love with the Makarska area, thanks to the comfortable stay in this large, brand new villa in Podgora. My husband & I travelled with a large group, ages from over 60 - 2 yrs old. Anyone who has travelled with young ones knows of the requirements that need to be met; e.g. a cot or a safe bed to sleep in – tick, provided, a highchair or a safe seat – tick, provided. The owner surprised us with these items, what a nice surprise it was for the parents. We all felt as though we had won the lottery as we were so lucky to get this villa & fit all of us in (8 of us + a toddler). The villa had so much room & very comfortable with all the mod cons e.g. Air con, shower, d/washer, w/machine, T.V., internet etc … Now, I do have to admit something here, I had a little sneaky look around everyone’s rooms & I was pleasantly surprised. The villa was immaculately clean & we were even provided towels, pool & shower. Nice touch. I found the biggest bedroom upstairs & before anyone else saw it, the husband & I claimed it. It has a big ensuite, a couch (luxury) & a beautiful balcony. The views & sunsets are to die for, so beautiful. All of the other bedrooms have an ensuite & their own terrace leading out to a garden & swimming pool. Now, pool parties are great at the best of times, but pool parties in Podgora are even better, especially in the evenings. The fantastic giant stairs lead from the garden to the big terrace, a perfect place for a BBQ or a drink or 2 & enjoy the beautiful sea views, as we did on most nights, even the little ones loved it. We were surprised that the kitchen was a fully loaded kitchen; normally we go out to eat, but we could stay in & learn to cook local food (yummy) & drink local wine, all purchased from the local supermarkets. We all hit the beaches, almost every single day, the young ones enjoyed wave jumping in the afternoons. With our hired vehicle (parking room for 2 vehicles), we explored the beautiful Podgora & Makarska areas. The marina was a lovely place to take a walk & the cafes are so nice. The husband booked a boat cruise to visit the beautiful islands Hvar & Brac. I’m telling all my friends about this little piece of heaven, but I have to get the best room first. Podgora & Makarska, you stole my heart & I think I love you.

Fantastic Family holiday in this first rate Villa

Where to begin? The minute we pulled up outside we had many "wows" from all of us and we hadn't even got inside. This villa has absolutely everything you could want & need. The pool is delightful, the villa is spacious, there was 7 adults in our party and the villa was still very spacious. (plenty of room not to get on top of each other with separate families) & it's spotless. I also liked the details, like the fact that inflatables were provided for the pool. Brilliant. The kitchen had everything you need. Bedrooms are a great size & the beds are comfy. Loved that all rooms had en suite bathrooms. There is one extra bathroom and one extra toilet easy to reach from the pool. A myriad of different style balconies & terraces to relax on. The sunsets are spectaculars. We hired a car & it was the right choice for us. Nearest supermarket is 5 min drive and a bigger choice of supermarkets is 10 min drive in Makarska. We loved the beaches, Iva secured parking in the town Podgora which was of big help. There is a big choice of excursions, by boats from Podgora or Makarska. We did the one including islands Hvar and Brac. Was a great day. We also went to Dubrovnik one early morning and came back at late evening. The drive itself was beautiful and Dubrovnik crowded but of course worth to see. Once again the property is amazing All in all we all loved our stay and would definitely recommend this Villa to any holiday makers looking for a quite relaxing holiday. We enjoyed the free wireless internet which came in for lots of use having 7 adults with us. All in all a fab holiday at a fab villa which we intend to return to as soon as we can. Regards Diana

Family trip to Croatia

We absolutely loved our stay in Croatia and Iva’s beautiful home was the perfect base camp for all we wanted to do during our trip. It was our first visit to Croatia and we did not know the country at all, so finding a centrally located place to stay was key. The Makarska Riviera was full of beautiful towns with incredible views, food, and places to explore. Iva’s home was spacious and very comfortable. Each of my three children had his or her own bedroom and bath, which made them all very happy! We were thrilled with the lovely pool and beautiful terraces and landscaping. And the town of Podgora was either a quick hike down the hillside or ride in the car. There were so many great recommendations for dining and close-by activities, all provided by Iva. Thank you for an amazing first trip to Croatia! We hope to be back soon.

This Villa is spectacular. From the location to the views. Podgora is a gem of a town and a 5 min easy drive. It is not too remote and Makarska is also very close by. Both are worth a visit. We took a day trip to Dubrovnik (2 hrs) and Split is just over an hour north. Perfect trip! I wish we could've stayed longer. A few kitchen items were missing (spatula for the grill and wine opener). The drip coffee maker was not working which would have been nice.

Absolutely Fabulous!

This property made our experience in Croatia exceptional. We traveled with 4 adults and 4 kids and it was comfortable and had everything we needed. The pool area was great and perfect for all of us. The views were just out of this world. Very clean and Iva was a wonderful property manager. She was available to answer all our questions. We can't wait to come back.

Perfekter Urlaub

Ein wunderschönes Haus mit noch beseerer Aussicht & Lage. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Bei Fragen konnte man sich immer an Iva oder Hauskräfte vor Ort wenden und es wurde sofort geholfen. Zusammengefasst hätte es nicht besser sein können. Ob Haus oder Service. Top Lage, schöne Aussicht, toller Pool und ein rundum luxuriöses und sauberes Haus. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
