Ta Diegu - pretty apartment in a private house with a large rooftop terrace

This particularly nice holiday apartment in Marsaxlokk, on the upper floor of a private house with separate entrance, has a large kitchen-living room with TV and a well-equipped kitchen area on approx. 75 m² living space. Two modern bedrooms with 2 beds each and optional air conditioning. Bathroom with shower and WC.

From the large roof terrace with deck chairs and parasol you have a wide view over the roofs to the harbour and the bay of Marsaxlokk. A washing machine is available. Clean, spacious standard apartment at very nice and hospitable owners, who live just next door.

Nice sandy beach about 15min walk.
Bakery diagonally opposite. Bus stop (e.g. to Valletta) approx. 300m; supermarket approx. 400m

Extras: Electricity € 0,30 per Kwh (by meter); Maltese Eco-Tax € 0,50 per person and night, older than 18 years, up to a maximum of € 5,-

Superbly positioned house for waterfront. Lots of restaurants very close by. Had all we wanted. Delightful owners. Car advisable, parking available, but not outside.

Charming home in great surroundings

We were welcomed by the lovely hosts who were kind enough to leave us basic supplies for the first day or so, much appreciated. The apartment is very quiet, with plenty of space. I used the roof terrace to do tai chi. The only small issue was that the lock to the front door took some coaxing to work. But overall a great time in Marsaxlokk.

Bit dated but well equiped and comfortable.

Great location lovely to be a short stroll from the quayside up a quite road. Easy transport links via regular bus services. Useful little spar shop and local corner shop not far away for basics. Plenty of space in the appartment which was well equiped and beds comfy. Only real negative was the temperature, there is no real heating which for a December trip was a bit tricky. couldn't get the air conditioning to blow hot in the bedrooms and the lounge took a while to warm up in the evenings with one plug in oil filled radiator, bit tricky as we were out and about for long days so the lounge was warm as were going to bed. Was great to have the roof terrace to get towels etc dry. Friendly and welcoming host who even offered to drive us to a supermarket! All in all a good spot would recommend.

Very pleasant apartment and nice owners.

The apartment was very well looked after, clean, comfortable with all you needed, if anything was needed then the owners who live next door were always at hand and more than pleased to help. We posibly had a different reason for enjoying the holiday as we were visiting relatives who also live in Marsaxlokk but all in all great time and good accomodation in a good position.

Lovely location in a quiet road just minutes from the harbour with a lovely helpful owner next door.

The property could do with a bit of an update but is perfectly adequate for a holiday. Marsaxlokk isn't a large place so no supermarkets yet but there are local shops nearby, good food at the restaurants along the harbour and there's a bus stop just round the corner if you want to go and see more of the sights of Malta.

Extremely good value

I really enjoyed staying in Ta Diegu. It was a quiet location, just minutes from the harbour and the bus stop. Frans and Doris were the perfect landlords and being next door they were able to help with any queries. The apartment itself is not high in interior design but is roomy, airy and very clean and there was plenty of towels and sheets. I was travelling on my own and I felt very safe and secure in it. The roof terrace offered plenty of space for alfresco dining and sunbathing. Marsaxlokk has a good selection of restaurants at the harbour front and all the meals that I ate there were delicious and good value. They are very busy at lunchtime but not all the restaurants are open in the evening which makes Marsaxlokk a quiet and peaceful holiday destination. I visit the islands very regularly and will certainly be back to stay at Ta Diegu.

Lovely little town and comfortable clean apartment

The apartment was basic but very comfortable and in a great location. The hosts Frans and Dorian are lovely people and very hospitable. There is a bakery almost opposite, fresh fruit and veg shop and grocery shop just round the corner and the best ever fish shop a short walk away. The buses cheap with bus stop 1 minute walk from the apartment and the sea front with all the restaurants at the bottom of the road, . Some of the restaurants not brilliant (be discerning and check prices when you order) some owners just dish out the food (not always good food) and take your money, but there are some great places to eat, just look for where the locals are.

Fin lägenhet med behov av uppdatering

Lägenheten var fin i gammal stil men behov av att få uppdaterade köksredskap och även service av Aircondition som fungerade instabilt. En damsugare och uppdaterad städutrustning behövs. Svårt att hitta parkering för bil. Mucket fin liten fiskeby och väldigt lugnt. En trevlig liten sandstrand ca 15min promenad. Ett tjugotal restauranger i hamnen ca 5 minuter bort.

Authentic experience

The apartment was large and airy with views of the harbour from the balcony and rooftop terrace. It was a few minutes walk to the water, cafes, shops, Sunday Market and buses. The apartment is an authentic Maltese home and very charming. It is great value and very family friendly.

10 jours à Malte

La scénographie : Deux couples de séniors (d'âge mur / 80 et des poussières pour certains) en vacances pour 10 jours en Avril Nous avions choisi Marsaxlokk un peu au hasard comme point d'ancrage et nous ne l'avons pas regretté. Appartement conforme à l'annonce et propriétaires d'une très grande gentillesse. Le port est à 5 minutes à pied. Nombreux restos. On peut bien sur regretter la présence au loin d'une usine qui défigure (un peu) la baie.. mais pour avoir visité toute l'ile, nous ne pouvons que conseiller Marsaxlokk pour y passer ses vacances (mais il n'en est peut être pas de même en été) / Pour ce qui est de rayonner sur l'ile, nous avions loué une voiture (une seule agence / toutes les autres nous ont opposé un refus compte tenu de notre âge (+ de 75 ans). Pas facile de conduire à gauche.. On y est arrivé mais on ne conseille pas. Il est préférable de louer un taxi ou un ''ubérisé'' (à 4, le voyage jusqu'à La Valette est à moins de 15 euros !) ou de prendre le bus pour se déplacer Autre chose : Le vent.. qui ne fait pas que vous décoiffer ! Il souffle en continu.. Bref, si on aime les "vielles pierres", Malte (et ses multitudes de murets et d'églises) vaut les quelques jours que l'on y passe.. mais pas forcément pour y bronzer (plages pour ainsi dire inexistantes et spots de plongée pris d'assaut).. J'allais oublier : Gozo vaut le détour..

Maison très bien située,proche du port et de ses restaurants de poissons servis copieusement.Les propriétaires sont d'une gentillesse et très réactifs en cas de problème.Communication excellente . Petit port de pêcheurs très agréable et colorés Le marché du dimanche reste exceptionnel

Schöner Ort

Marsaxklokk ist ein kleines Fischerdorf im Süden der Inles, abseits der Touristenzentren im Norden. Die Busanbindung ist gut, die Busse fahren regelmäßig Richtung Valetta und Flughafen. Der Vermieter wohnt nebenan und ist sehr um einen angenehmen Aufenthalt seiner Gäste bemüht. Die Wohnung hat alles was man braucht. Die Dachterrasse haben wir nicht genutzt, hier wären einen Sonnenschutz und vielleicht ein paar Topfpflanzen wünschenswert. Ein kleiner Bäcker ist 50m entfernt, es lohnt sich, dort das lokale Brot zu kaufen. Der Fischerhafen von Marsaxlock ist sehr schön und lockt mit einigen Restaurants zum Verweilen.

Voldoende compleet voor ons en lekker dichtbij de haven. Helaas geen fatsoenlijk koffiezetapparaat. Zeer gedateerd interieur. Fijn maar sober dakterras.

Das Objekt ist veraltet, aber sehr authentisch mitten in einem Fischerdorf mit außerordentlich freundlichen Hausbesitzern und Nachbarn. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Mit Highlight-Erfahrung

Die Wohnung befindet sich unweit des Hafens. So waren wir im Leben des Dorfes mittendrin. Ein Highlight ist der sonntägliche Markt. Transfer und Empfang in der Wohnung waren super organisiert. Ein herzliches Dankeschön von Annette und Klaus.

Eine wunderbare Etagenwohnung mit Dachterrasse

Die kleinstädtische Wohnung (auch wenn sich Marsaxlokk selbst Dorf nennt) ist ideal als "Basislager" für Exkursionen auf Malta geeignet. Der Bus ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Zurück von einem Tagesausflug stehen dann an der Promenade mindestens 20 Restaurants (auch im preiswerten Bereich) mit Meeresblick und zur Auswahl. Den Abend kann man dann auf der Dachterrasse verbringen. Leider wird der Meerblick Stück für Stück verbaut. Aber auch der Blick über die Dächer ist interessant und der Wind erfrischend. Die Wohnung ist sehr ruhig gelegen und so ist der Nachtschlaf garantiert (aber Achtung, das Schlafzimmerfenster sollte geschlossen werden, ab 4 Uhr früh krähen Nachbars Hähne um die Wette. Marsaxlokk hat sich also doch noch etwas dörfliches bewahrt). Schräg gegenüber der Wohnung kann dann morgens beim Bäcker (in der Backstube!) das frische Brot gekauft werden und Proviant für den nächsten Tagesausflug mit dem Linienbus. Ein tolle, saubere Wohnung.
