Exclusive Villa in the vincinity of Akureyri

The house Leifsstadir is located in the outskirts of Akureyri at the easter hillside of the Eyafjord. The spacious house has all comfort and is suitable for up to eight people.
The 12'000 m2 property grants privacy and for the security of our guests an alarm equiplent and security cameras are installed.

When selecting the materials and furnitures we only chose good design and best quality. There are antique items and protected rare items in the house.

The house has been acquired in October 2014. It has been renovated until July 2015.

Please note that this is a strictly non smoking environment.

A wonderful property in an incredible place

Stunning and convenient location for the town and airport yet felt like a sufficient distance away, wonderful modern property that was perfect for our family (of seven), lovely hot tub, great location for Aurora spotting and forest lagoon. Friendly and communicate hosts who interacted with us at all stages. A wonderful first visit to Akureyri - we will be back again soon!

Fabulous stay!

Beautiful house! Huge and well equipped. Lovely and warm. Worth noting that the sofa bed in the fourth bedroom is only really big enough for one adult or two children. Also worth saying that there is no TV in the house- didn’t bother us as we were out a lot, but it might bother other people. The house is very tech heavy- which was a bit tricky as the main screen in the kitchen didn’t seem to be working but we figured it out through trial and error. We would definitely be back- loved it!

Great stay in Akureyri

Amazing property just minutes from Akureyri centre, and close to most activities in this area and Diamond circle. The house is comfortable and has everything you need for a nice stay. Our favourite part was the outdoor hot tub, especially late at night while enjoying the spectacular Northern lights (two nights in a row). Looking forward to come back during summer time!

Amazing location in Akureyri

Beautiful location and property.. very clean and tidy..well apointed facilities. Great hot tub..lighting was a bit confusing but managed to sort it out by the end (our fault).couldn’t get any tv channels working or the sound system..minor issues really as we was out most of the time..i did find the bedding wasn’t warm enough at night and might suggest bigger and warmer quilt . And only 3 beds made up and couldn’t access any additional bedding.but would recommend this property and we would stay again if we come back to Akureyri.

Simply fabulous

The property was stunning, the location amazing. Everything you could want is there for you. So much to see within a relatively short drive but Akureyri is so well equipped for visitors it has all you need for a very relaxing stay. The Forest Lagoon 5 minutes away made for a very chilled Sunday morning.

Truly stunning property near the North coast of Iceland

This house is quite simply the best rental property I have ever stayed in!!! Thomas’ house is enormous! I own a 4 bedroomed house which I worked out would have fitted comfortably into the lounge area of this one alone. This house came with all the essentials and more! A large double garage was available for the use of the guests; there was a very well equipped kitchen; there were 3 very large bedrooms and a study which comfortably slept my family of 7 people and a lovely, enormous hot tub. Thomas was a fantastic host and if I could give the house and our host a higher star rating than 5, then I certainly would!

This house is amazingly roomy, very well equipped, warm, comfortable and in an amazing location. Sigga the house keeper was at the end of the phone when we had questions. Great for groups or families.

Perfect!!

We loved both the house and the surroundings (the view from the house is amazing). The house is spacious, modern, and comfortable; it really had everything (and more) for a good vacation. Even when the weather was bad, the kids enjoyed to play around in the house. The kitchen is excellent, it contains everything we needed. The same goes for the bathrooms, really luxurious. The beds were made up when we arrived and the house was warm and clean. The mattresses are also really good! Things we never saw in a vacation house: there was a pc with internet and every room had his own speakers. The lights, the curtains and heating are controlled centrally. The city of Akureyri (5 minutes) offers good shops, a good bakery and some good restaurants. Excursion we did from the house: Whale watching in Dalvik, the myvatn area (geothermal activity), the big waterfalls in the north (Dettifoss, Sellfoss, Godafoss, ..).

About as good as it gets! Want to go back!

We can start with “stunning” and work up from there. Leifsstadir is a holiday home you will remember for all the right reasons. Thomas has made a superb high-spec venue for getting away from it all while still enjoying all the trappings of a thoroughly modern – and conspicuously techie - experience. The house is immaculate, spacious, brilliantly positioned and a great deal of fun. Everything works, from the fully equipped and chic kitchen to the electric curtains and the magnificent sound system. The hot tub on the huge deck provides the perfect way to end the day, taking in the breath taking view up Eyjarfjordur. I am sure Thomas has patented the Akureyri sunset! Last year, we were treated to some spectacular sunsets at his place at Nollur, a few kilometres north of here, and this year brought us the same colour show in the sky. So, “stunning” is only the beginning. Well done and thank you Thomas.

Great stay in Akureyri!

Well stocked house with great location - outside of the bustle of town but close enough to quickly access everything. Forest Lagoon just down the road was perfect for a relaxing dip, they are even open late so you can stop by after dinner! Hosts were responsive and helpful. Would stay again if back in the area!

North Iceland Winter Trip

The home was beautiful and expansive, and was perfect for our family of four. The garage was a great feature for moving children and luggage during the cold. And the home was very close to the town which made our stay convenient. Would definitely stay again , amazing value also.

Nicht zum ersten Mal in diesem Traumhaus - und wieder alles perfekt. Für gemütliche Abende mit traumhaftem Ausblick und Blick auf die Nordlichter - einfach unschlagbar. Can not recommend this house more. Beautiful view, quiet surroundings, great kitchen and hot tub. The property owner gave great directions and was responsive to communication. Would recommend this to family and friends traveling and plan on returning myself

Wonderful stay in Akureyri

On our three week Iceland road trip in Sept/October. Akureyri was definitely a highlight: 1) Spacious house in a quiet area. 2) Beautiful view of surrounding snow cap mountains 3) One evening we saw the best Northern Lights of our entire trip so far. We went out on the porch noticed some lights and then saw some brilliant ones 30 feet outside front door. 4) Excellent proximity to Kelli Whale watching and downtown.

Amazing home with beautiful view

Home was amazing with beautiful view!!! Close to many attractions. The Forest Lagoon is minutes away and a fabulous place. Clean, comfortable, spacious and modern. Hot tub was nice even watched the Northern Lights while relaxing. Only suggestion is to bring toilet paper, paper towels and storage bags. Would visit again!!!
