Relaxing get away overlooking the Black Warrior River. Plenty of space, lovely views from the huge partially covered deck, and great fishing. Only 15 minutes from the city of Moundville and not too far from Tuscaloosa and the University of Alabama. Please note this is in a very rural area, down a 4 mile dirt road. Low riding vehicles are not recommended.

This rental is a quick 30-40 min to the university of Alabama. South so no traffic. Pictures are accurate. Kitchen is stocked with anything you could need. Beds are comfortable. The river views are beautiful. The road is not paved, but our truck rental handled it fine. Saw more wildlife in a few days than I see in a year. The owner is super nice and easy to work with. I would not hesitate to rent again. Nice respite from the hustle of downtown.
We absolutely loved our stay here. We were looking for somewhere off the beaten path for our stay while in town for the Bama/Ga game. We definitely found it with this little gem! Located on the water, the upstairs deck provided great views, they even have a telescope for you to use. Rhonda's attentiveness and communication was very welcoming. I will always check for availability when we come to the area in the future.
The property was on the water and beautiful scenery. House was very cozy. Beautiful kitchen. Upstairs had a deck with a tv and lights that lit up at night. House had lots of board games to keep us entertained. The drive to the house was a dirt road, but very pretty to drive through. We stayed to go to the Alabama game in Tuscaloosa and drive there was 35 minutes. Very convenient.
This trip was bucket list for my spouse heading into a surgical procedure that could cause blindness. Alabama fan and had never been to a game. Property was spot on what we seek out for road trips, peaceful, secluded, and quiet.
We will definitely seek returning for our next Alabama trip. I must apologize to the owner for my communication confusion and thank them for their patience. Was wonderful and willl love to return!
We rented this place to have a quiet location and to go to the Bama game. The plan worked out perfectly. The house was perfect for our needs. It was relaxing and quiet. And it was easy access to Bryant-Denny Stadium (less than 30 minutes). I will choose the place again!.
This is our second time staying here and it doesn’t disappoint. Very clean, well maintained, quiet area. The host, Rhonda, is very helpful and prompt to respond.
Was perfect and peaceful. Close to Tuscaloosa so we were able to hit the Bama game within 30 minutes but loved the privacy and view at this little place. Follow their directions not GPS is my only recommendation:)
If you want to get away from it all, this is a fantastic choice. It is advertised as a cabin, but it really is a two bedroom house with a beautiful kitchen, two full baths with walk-in showers, and a washer and dryer. The best part is the huge back porch with panoramic views of the Black Warrior River. Absolutely beautiful. We drank morning coffee watching egrets and herons, then had a candlelight dinner listening to crickets and watching the lights from night boats float by. There isn't a lot around, but it is a get-away. So bring a cooler of food to cook and some bottled water. They say it is on a dirt road, which it is, but a car could make it down just fine. We saw some cars driving through. But we took our RAV-4 and it was an easy drive. It was a delightful detox from the city. Exactly what we needed.
If you are from one of the nearby universities (there are easily 6 within driving distance), this would be a wonderful writing retreat. Get away from distractions, enjoy the river and the birds, and write it up.
We really liked the house and the location was nice, even though it was a bit remote, we liked that about it. Rhonda was a great host very communicative and helpful.
The beds were very comfortable and the set up on the deck was awesome.
The house could definitely use a little sprucing up and much better job at cleaning is needed. If you are a clean freak, it would be a problem. Specifically, the master bathroom shower was not clean, the coffee pot & refrigerator were also very dirty.
We would love to stay again if the cleanliness was addressed. It was a very relaxing place otherwise.
