Versalir is a STUNNING 71,5 square meter cabin that stands on a PRIVATE land in the south of ICELAND. The most perfect LOCATION from the GOLDEN CIRCLE and many AMAZING sights. The cabin Versalir is well equipped and beautifully furnished, built by its owners. It can ACCOMMODATE up to 6 people, with TWO BEDROOMS and a comfortable SLEEPING COUCH in the living room. Both rooms have a 55" TV with NETFLIX and TWO TWIN BEDS, that can be joined to make KING BEDS. The living room has a comfortable couch, a RELAXING chair, PROJECTOR for watching NETFLIX with a TWO SPEAKER home theater and a FIRE PLACE. The superb dining room seats up to six people and has a magnificent fully EQUIPPED KITCHEN. The bathroom is very spacious and has a good WARM SHOWER. Also, the deck/patio is accessible from the bathroom.

The views all around the cabin are magnificent with MOUNTAINS stretching out in the surroundings. There's a 120 square meter private deck/patio which lies all around the cabin equipped with a cozy HOT TUB and a BBQ GRILL – Perfect for enjoying the SPECTACULAR VIEWS, STAR GAZING and catching the NORTHERN LIGHTS. Enjoying the SUNRISE and SUNSET at the deck/patio is an incredible EXPERIENCE. The cabin's deck/patio has a WHEELCHAIR ramp beside the entrance and has a FREE PARKING SPACE for up to four cars if parked properly.

Perfect base for Iceland adventures!

We had the best 5 nights at Versalir, perfect location for adventuring around the southern part of the island - essentially an hour drive to everything you could want. The cabin is SO warm and welcoming and hosts friendly and helpful. The pictures on the listing are a little outdated - the shower room has been modernised for example, but if anything it is better than shown. Can’t wait to return!

A home from home

Versalir Cabin was the perfect base for our Icelandic adventures. Its location is ideal for traveling to any of the numerous places of interest that are everywhere in Iceland’s South-West. We will definitely be back again and again. Thank you!

Iceland stopover

Beautiful cabin with amazing views. Excellent location for visiting the golden circle. The hot was lovely, but it does take longer to warm up than the instructions implied. Would definitely recommend to family and freinds.

We saw the northern lights from the hot tub which was amazing and enjoyed cosy nights in watching films on the projector which was a lovely touch. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting a perfect base for exploring the golden circle and south coast of Iceland.

Great Cabin and Fab Hot Tub

We had a great stay at the cabin. The pictures don't do it justice. It was very cold with lots of snow during our visit, but the cabin was lovely and warm at all times. The hot tub is very easy to use and the kitchen has lots of supplies and cooking basics. Highly recommended.

A very comfortable cabin in a wonderful location

A super comfortable cabin, with everything provided that you could need and a great hot tub. The owners go to great length to ensure visitors have detailed information about everything in and about the property. The cabin is very well equipped, and the owners provide free loo rolls, washing powder, softener and dishwasher tabs. Very useful and thoughtful. The location is amazing. Quiet, peaceful, lovely views, and close to many wonderful places and activities. We were in the hot tub most evenings and saw fantastic northern lights displays on 4 of our 9 evenings there, which was such a treat. In case you, like me, are fussy about your mattress - the beds are very supportive, soft and comfy. We both slept really well, even though we have quite different preferences for mattress firmness. The settee is also comfy and converts into a double bed for lazy times watching films on the cabin's drop-down large screen, which we certainly took advantage of after busy days out walking, sight seeing, snorkelling and kayaking, and before jumping into the hot tub for late evening lights. Netflix and Disney are provided, with a great sound system. Overall, we had a fantastic 10 day stay. We fell in love with Iceland and plan to be back soon.

Cozy cabin, great location

The cabin was perfect for our stay in The Golden Circle and all the places we wanted to visit were easily accessible. The cabin was really well equipped and we cooked there every evening. The hot tub was a bonus and it was lovely to come back and relax in the evening after long days out seeing the sights. We would definitely stay here again if we returned to Iceland.

Fabulous Christmas Away

Great place for the five of us. All the facilities are good. The views and feeling of being in the wild is fantastic . We had a small problem with the toilet freezing up, the host sorted this quickly and we were able to keep things going with hot water. It was -21 degrees at one point. Hot tub was fantastic and easy to use. We recommend!!!!!

Tingvellir Experience

Great location for touring or fishing in the National Park. Everything you need for a great stay is in the lodge and the instruction guide is brilliant. We throughly enjoyed our stay and the hot tub was ACE!!

This is our second time staying at this beautiful cabin outside of Selfoss! Can’t say enough about this place and the amazing hosts. Clean, well appointed, & the projector screen is a plus! Our favorite spot to stay in Iceland!!!

Fantastic Holiday

Amazing place to stay

Loved staying here. Right in the middle of the countryside with only a few other cabins around. Perfect for relaxing after a days adventure on the island. Loved all the touches of the projector, vast movie collection, fully stocked kitchen, BBQ and hot tub on the private deck outside. Recommended!

Surprise Iceland Visit

I had arranged a surprise visit to Iceland for my Wife’s birthday. I booked Versalir Cabin after reading reviews and looking at the pictures. The Cabin was clean, comfortable, warm as toast and had all the amenities you could want. We stayed 6 nights at the cabin and were lucky to see the Northern Lights twice, which was spectacular. The cabin was in an excellent location for visiting all the attractions in the Golden Circle. After being out all day it was lovely to come back into a warm cabin and use the hot tub. Our hosts Erlingur and Ingvar were very helpful and friendly. A wonderful holiday and a great way to see the magic of Iceland. Peter and Margaret Wade Nov 21-28 2019

Very comfortable and well equipped cabin, perfectly located for visiting the many sites of the Golden Circle. Very details and accurate communication from owners prior to arrival so you know exactly what to expect. Soaking in the hot tub in the remote countryside late into the evening was quite special. Highly recommended.

Versalir Cabin - "I forgot this isn't our house"!

What a perfect base for our dream trip to the amazing Iceland. So close to so many of the Golden Circle highlights. Selfoss just a short drive away for groceries etc. The cabin itself was equipped with all you could ever wish for and the hot tub was the ideal way to unwind after a long day of exploring. 100% recommended!

A lovely cabin tucked away on the Golden Circle

Well equipped and well placed for visiting Thingvellir National Park, Kerid, Gullfoss and the geysir. The owners were so helpful and accommodating. The cabin is warm with modern fixtures - a great base for travelling the scenic side of Iceland.

Quiet Haven

Google maps takes you right there. Well equipped lodge with all you might need. Would have liked to have lit the fire but more than warm enough without. Hot tub took a while to get the temperature right but a great place to watch the Northern Lights from. A suggestion would be to have some plastic beakers to have a hot or cold drink at the tub.

Luxury cabin in great location

This cabin is really lovely and a really good location for a base We had a brilliant time visiting the local sites Geysir, Gullfoss waterfall, the secret lagoon, thinglevir National Park and also used the supermarket and restaurants in Selfoss The cabin was such a great place to come back to with the hot tub and cinema screen as well as a really well organised kitchen Thank you for our stay

Great cabin in an ideal location

Great cabin with everything you would need for your stay. We never meet the owners but they we're very helpful when we had to contact them. Great location for the golden circle and many more beautiful places to visit. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights on our last evening at the cabin we managed to get some fantastic photo's. We can't wait to come back and explore more of iceland we could not recommend it enough ☺

Fabulous Cabin in Perfect Location

We stayed in Versalir cabin for 4 nights in the middle of our week long trip to Iceland. Booking was easy and the driving directions were excellent. The cabin is stunning, with all the amenities you could wish for. The beds are comfy, the kitchen is fully equipped, there is a washer drier and a dishwasher and the hot tub was fabulous. There are so many little extra touches like DVD's to watch, a PlayStation with games for the kids and coffee/tea sugar in case you forgot. Erlingur was really friendly and helpful. Selfoss is only a few miles away for supermarkets and restaurants. We tried Yellow and really enjoyed the food there. The only thing missing is black out blinds. It was impossible to see the projector screen in July as it was too light. Not a big problem though. I would definitely recommend Versalir for a relaxing break.

Cosy cabin with amazing views

The cabin was even better than expected. It was very spacious and warm, which we needed with the weather being so cool; we only lit the fire on one night and that was mainly for the aesthetic. It's in a very quiet area with the only noise from birdsong. We received an information pack before we arrived which included everything you could need - including the location of the elusive cutlery drawer! The cabin is situated on the route of the golden circle and the far ranging views were amazing. The nearest town is Selfoss which is about 10 mins by car and has takeaways and supermarkets. The location was such that you were in easy reach of quite a few of the sites with amazing scenery on the way. We visited the waterfalls, Reykjavik and went horse riding at Nuphestar. If we return to Iceland I would definitely come back to the cabin.

Wonderful Cabin

We stayed here for four nights at the beginning of November - it was such a fantastic well equipped cabin, with everything to make your life easier. Very comfortable beds and great kitchen for cooking and chatting in. Really enjoyed the cinema projector, has made us want one at home! We spent a very enjoyable hour or two with Erlingur who gave us some good advice about Iceland - we very much enjoyed talking with you - thank you. We would love to come back soon, as we have totally fallen in love with Iceland! A stunning country! Would like to stay longer next time........

Clean, modern and welcoming in great location!

From the moment we arrived we were impressed with the modern and spacious layout of the cabin. It really feels very private and luxurious and provided the perfect base to end our Iceland trip. The hot tub on the deck is wonderful and is a great way to relax after a busy day exploring the area. All the key sights are within a reasonable drive of the property and we even had a rest day in the cabin which was so peaceful and relaxing. All the facilities worked perfectly and we were provided with a very comprehensive information pack before our trip so we could plan our stay. I would certainly recommend this cabin to friends and family and it would be my first choice on any future trip to Iceland.

Hosted by Erlingur Örn Hafsteinsson

Erlingur & Ingvar started their business in 20th of September 2013 when they bought their first land in Grimsnes, south of Iceland. They used up their savings for the down payment and got a loan to pay the rest. They started planting treas and digging for streams. On 17th of June 2014 they received their first shipment of material for building Versalir cabin. They worked very hard, along side their jobs as engineers in Reykjavik, for 9 months building this cabin.

On 10th of March 2015 the first guests arrived to Versalir cabin. Two couples from India. Since then they have done all sorts of stuff. They will continue to focus on their cabin business and also other projects that they are passionate about. Their newest property is Breidablik cabin which is absoulutly stunning!
