About this property

New Town apartment with parking

We challenge you to find a more beautiful one bedroom apartment in Edinburgh!

Large first floor*( *2nd floor North America) one bedroom flat overlooking a private garden in exclusive Georgian cul de sac, off Heriot Row.

The spacious first floor apartment comprises a large double bedroom with en suite. The kitchen area has a gas cooker/ fridge/freezer & dishwasher, and includes a utility area with washing machine & dryer.

The large living room, which overlooks the beautiful private Queen Street Gardens, has a separate dining area. All bed linen, towels, pillows and duvets are provided.

The apartment is a few minutes from Waverley Station by taxi. Wemyss Place is just off Queen Street, which runs parallel to George Street. The main shopping area of Princes Street is within easy walking distance. The apartment also has a secure parking bay at the rear of the building.

The apartment is in a very quiet area and yet so close to all the amenities and attractions, within walking distance such as Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, with Holyrood Palace a short drive away. There are many bars, restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques several minutes away in Rose Street.

Edinburgh's famous castle is especially beautiful. Upon entering the city, it commands immediate attention. The eye of the visitor is drawn to the impressive structure rising high above everything else on its sheer granite cliffs. There are incredible panoramic views from the upper stories of the castle, including a clear view of the distant sea. The castle sits high on the huge rock formation that juts out as if in defiance of any who would seek to invade Edinburgh. Castle Rock, as it is known, is inaccessible on three sides, and has a long, descending ridge on the fourth side.

Edinburgh is filled with historic and literary association: John Knox, Mary Queen of Scots, Robert Louis Stevenson, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (creator of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson), Alexander Graham Bell, Sir Walter Scott, and Bonnie Prince Charlie are all part of its past.

Georgian elegance

We had a lovely stay in this stylish and characterful property. Very spacious rooms with a great outlook onto Queen Street Gardens. As others have said, a quiet location despite being in the heart of the New Town. Warm and cosy even though the weather was quite chilly!

Owner turned off heat

Our stay consisted of seven days total. Unfortunately the owner programmed the thermostat to TURN OFF THE HEAT every night starting at 16:30 and not having it come on until the next morning around 9 AM. We woke up our first night at 3:30am with the temperature in the apartment at 47 degrees the next night this occurred again, we ended up sleeping in the living room on the couches as the bedroom became too cold to sleep in. I would’ve never rented this apartment if I knew this. I myself now have a severe head cold as well as the wife, this absolutely ruined our holiday. I will be seeking a partial or full refund. Do not I repeat do not rent this apartment. I still can’t understand why somebody would turn off the heat during the coldest days of the year in Edinburgh! For the price we paid this for this rental this is completely and totally unacceptable

Beautiful central property

Part work and part recreational trip. This property served me well for both purposes. It is very comfortable, clean and well equipped in a fantastic location for everything within the city. The parking space is a huge bonus if you are arriving by car in Edinburgh.

Wonder Hogmanay break

We were so pleased to have found this bright and spacious property on relatively short notice. The keys arrived within days and the description made it easy to get access. The flat was so centrally located we managed to walk everywhere, therefore it was brilliant to have the car park. We would love to stay again in the future.

Wonderful perch for exploring Edinburgh's charms

This is a beautiful period apartment with large windows overlooking a park. It is centrally located (just around the corner from the childhood home of Robert Lewis Stevenson, I learned while there). It was a good place from which to explore all the Edinburgh has to offer. The kitchen was well stocked. The bed was comfortable. I would return.

Great short break

A perfectly located property in a quiet residential area with easy access to central Edinburgh attractions. Great private gardens opposite to enjoy. Parking space quite tight but we appreciated having one at all, as we didn't need the car during our stay. As part of a longer tour of Scotland we appreciated the washing machine, tumble drier, airer and space in the bathroom for the washing. Highly recommended!

The apartment is in a very central yet quiet location; quick walk to George Street or Stockbridge.

The apartment is very light, spacious and comfortable. Very nice outlook onto the private gardens. It is situated on a no through road so is very quiet. The bedroom is very large and situated to the rear of the property and so is also very quiet. I would recommend the apartment and would stay again.

New Years Eve 2014/15

On our bucket list was to New Year in Edinburgh, at least once, so we decided it would be 2014, after perusing various options, hotels, B&Bs we went on the rentals website. As some of you know its always a bit of a risk, so you are reliant on the descriptions, photos and and reviews such as this at the first instance on any property. I am pleased to say out of many properties this stood out, it was in the right place (very right if you needed to be be near the Princes Street area but not on top of it - literally 10 mins walk) and it was an apartment in a beautiful old building, with access to a green area if you so wished. The apartment itself was lovely as you can see, it was very spacious and equipped to a high standard. All the guide notes were clear - including the parking which for us great as we travelled by car. If i changed anything it would be where the TV is located its a small thing but for me I would like it in the living area. The company we booked through were very helpful in responding to questions and everything went smoothly, so would definitely use them again too. All in all a great new year with great memories.

A great relaxing stay

We had a wonderful stay at this accommodation in Edinburgh. It was an exceptional location, comfortable and clean. My husband and I travel quiet a bit and value accommodations which cater to relaxation, convenience and cleanliness. The location was most enjoyable; we appreciated the park view in the morning during coffee and for evenings; there is also private access to the park. Parking was included and conveniently located. It is a very quiet and secure building, which we also liked. We stayed for over a week and never tired of the location or the room. It is minutes walking distance from the main town centre, and to all the shopping, dining, and highlights of Edinburgh. Yet the location is in the quieter residential zone of New Town, so when you walk outside there are a fewer people on the sidewalk. The management team’s attention to detail was faultless, in addition to ensuring some breakfast provisions were on hand, there were brochures about the area, contact lists and detailed instructions. Pippa, Paul & Sean were helpful and easy to communicate with before and during our stay. The kitchen was very well equipped with pans, plenty of soaps, paper towels, toilet paper. The bed was great - firm, but not hard and certainly not worn. Better than hotel quality linens. Pillows were good. We had no trouble maintaining temperatures. All in all, a great place that we would certainly stay at again.

Nice. Good location.

The '1 F" position in the building need to be more appropriately designated-nothing on the door to indicate the site. Lights in hall way were never on..... dark at night when we returned. Nice to have "some" coffee capsules-however, could not buy any additional at the store. Appreciated the basic supplies.

Wonderful Stay

My husband and I love to rent apartments when we travel and this property was one of the best we've seen. The location is very convenient to New Town and not too far from the Royal Mile. We prepared breakfasts and two dinners in the well appointed kitchen. Other evenings we found nice eateries on George Street, two blocks away. We would end our long days with a night cap by the fireplace. We would love to return to Edinburgh and this comfy apartment.

Perfect place to stay in Edinburgh

This property was outstanding in every way. We had high hopes from the listing description and were not disappointed. The apartment is beautifully decorated, spacious, well-appointed, clean, well-maintained and the location is wonderful. The manager provided excellent customer service before and after our stay. We would highly recommend this property to friends or relatives and will definitely plan to stay there again on our next visit to Edinburgh. We attended multiple productions at the Fringe Festival which we truly enjoyed as well as visiting the city's art galleries. We would recommend the Queen's Arm restaurant on Frederick Street.
