Cotswold Mill Retreat - Stunning 18th-century barn, sleeps up to 12
The Tallet barn at Cotswold Mill is an 18th-century barn set in 17 acres of stunning Cotswold countryside, beautifully converted to accommodate parties of up to 12 people (13/14 when using the sofa bed or cot which we recommend for children)
Perfect for gatherings, retreats or photoshoots.
Enjoy our cosy barn sitting around the log fire or enjoy our beautiful grounds which house a fire pit, giant chess board, play area, trampoline, football nets, and abundant wildlife all on your doorstep
Enjoy views of the open countryside and the infant River Thames.
The garden's mature olive trees, believed to be over 100 years old, and palm trees lend a Mediterranean feel.
While the barn is surrounded by beautiful countryside, it is conveniently located just 25 minutes from the M4 motorway and 40 minutes from the M5 motorway. The nearest station is Kemble Station..

The property appears recently decorated and the grounds around our house were well kept. The trampoline, football pitch and large chess were good for the kids. The beds were comfy and plenty of bathrooms/showers. The directions to the house and property names (Ewen vs Charlotte) were confusing; as were the entrances with one entrance via the road, the other through a field with the parking across the stream away from the house. We did speak to the owners and they understood and said they would change this on VRBO. With the different postcodes the Tesco order incorrectly went to an old ladies house - she told the driver it happened often. Noting this is a converted barn the layout of some rooms are unique. Our room had no window, just a door so at night you can’t get any fresh air unless you leave the door wide open. Also a twin bed is a mezzanine over the living room so gets smoked out with the fire lit and means if you’ve got young children the adults have to stay in the kitchen during the evening. Lots to do though in the area.
We stayed as two families as we needed both space and privacy whist attending a family funeral (so hotels were out).
It was perfect for that and I am sure it would be great for a holiday too. The facilities were just as we expected and the house is really nice. It is in a very quite location and so would be great for a relaxing break whist being pretty close to a number of attractions.
The hosts were able to deal with a few things (dodgy shower and lack or iron) fro us with out issue
The joining directions are pretty complex and it would seem that the owners would really like guests to make a half mile off road approach (some across grass) rather than come though the gate on the Ewen village side. That might be a exciting trip on a wet December night.
