IMPORTANT NEWS: We recently installed a new automatic system to counteract load shedding with solar pannels, inverters and high capacity batteries, so now the house is completely load shedding free!!!.

The Windrose is 480 sqm wide. On the ground floor are two very big lounges, a dining table for 12 people, a breakfast table that sits 8 plus a kitchen and a small kitchenette for breakfast. Two poster refrigerator, ice maker machine, two microwaves, an electric oven. The right handed lounge have a 55' flat screen TV with the sound system. Both lounges have air con and fire places. A fully equipped separate utility room, 2 guest toilets and 2 double garages.The furniture is of an outstanding level and the area spacious enough to easily entertain guests. Plenty of outdoor space with 3 furnished decks with 1 built-in braais, on one of the decks we just built an heated swimming pool. On the first floor 7 bedrooms (3 of them en-suite)plus two other bathrooms can easily host 12 people. 5 rooms open onto big decks looking at the sea. Three bedrooms have smart TV's with satellite DSTV. At the top of the house there is a nice loft with a cross trainer and 2 exercise mats.

Home from home

Overall we had a fabulous stay for 3 weeks , the location of the property is perfect , short walking distance to great coffee and great food no matter what you feel like eating, and if we didn’t feel like walking or driving there was always an Uber 4-5 mins away . The house is furnished to a high standard and extremely comfortable , tonnes of space to spread out and relax no matter what time of day there’s a space for everyone ! . The local property manager Emma was absolutely awesome and dealt with any queries swiftly, with Amazing professionalism, from the well-stocked and gratefully received welcome pack after a long flight ! to any others bits that cropped up during our stay - Emma your a rock star 🌟! . Thank you to Virginia for the loan of your fabulous house and Emma for looking after us like Family ! J& J

I looked at about 100 properties for an 11-week stay during August in Cape Town and nothing quite matched the stunning location and level of comfort offered at Wind Rose. We needed a property for 12 family members in Cape Town for a wedding and Wind Rose suited us perfectly. The stand out features include the remarkable view offered in the living areas and six (of seven) bedrooms. It is, in every sense, breath-taking; large crashing waves with Robben Island and Table Mountain both in view. Two large living areas were very lovely(one tv and one for photography and talking). Two large garages were also useful. The kitchen was very well equipped (great cooker, fridge, washing machine etc) and really easy to use. The bedrooms were very well appointed as were the bathrooms. The dining area was most impressive (in keeping with the house) and yet like everything in the house, easy to look after. The beaches all wonderful for walks and photographs. Very helpful to have On the Rocks restaurant next door with cake shop near also. The Bayside shopping centre provides the wonderful Checkers supermarket - also a dentist surgery (they saved the day with an emergency tooth extraction) , chemist, florist, wine store... The location is great and easy to drive to and from the centre of Cape Town and yet also escape across country. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. Property manager Emma is excellent as is the wonderful housekeeper Connie whom we loved and was so, so helpful and great fun also. We were here in Winter month, so are unable to report on the little swimming pool but it looked nice. All my dealings with the owners were very cordial and efficient. One or two automatic HomeAway emails were a bit distracting... but other than this, Wind Rose is the most wonderful house we have every stayed in and as a family we have been roaming the world for 22 years. This combines homeliness and luxury, practicality with art works, comfort with efficiency of use. I cannot praise it highly enough. Thanks for making it SUCH a memorable holiday.

Wow, an amazing home away from home!

The pictures on the website do not do this home justice. Every person in our group was delighted by the property from the minute we walked in. The home is beautifully and tastefully decorated The attention to detail was noticeable, I particularly liked the fresh flowers, so thoughtful. There were basic supplies to keep us going until we were able to get to a shop. The property is a home rather than a house, everything we needed, and more, was there. The location right on the beach was superb and having a decent restaurant right next door proved useful. If you're too lazy too make your own coffee in the morning you can simply go next door to the 'hole in the wall' for a decent cappuccino or espresso! The staff were charming and accommodated all our needs. I hope that we can return in the not too distant future to enjoy a glass of good South African wine while sitting on the outdoor patio, fire blazing and waves crashing against the rocks!

Beautiful house

The Windrose is everything you could wish for - it is beautiful, spacious, well equipped and comfortable. It was perfect for our family group with plenty space to enjoy our break together and every one of us would love to come back some day.

Breathtaking Views, Comfortable, Unforgetable

This property is beautiful!! It is spacious and tastefully decorated just as the picture shows. It can accommodate a lot of people since the flow of the house is great and the facilities are of excellent quality. The property was clean upon arrival. The view from the Master bedroom is magnificent and the linens are of high quality. The owner and property manager were easy to work with and they will go out of their way to assist you. You have a full view of Table Mountain, the sun set. We turned the lights off at night inside and watch the ocean danced under a full moon. The weather was not great when we were there, but it did not bother us. We knew that it might be cold so that is why we have chosen this house. We ate at On The Rocks restaurant two doors down from the house as well as Ons Huisie which is within walking distance of the house. Both are great restaurants. We took a long walk on the beach and felt very safe. Easy to find grocery stores in the area. I would love to go back one day since it was the perfect spot for us finding a home away from home to visit with our South African siblings and mother of 85years old. I recommend this property 100% .

Pleasant and Peaceful

So, we arrived! Upon arrival, everything was in place and setup for our stay. We were greeted by Emma, the property manager, and given a full run down of the extent of the house as well as what can be found in and around the area. After a brief and friendly conversation, we were left to enjoy the first of many beautiful sunsets. What was most enjoyable and pleasant, was the peacefulness of the surroundings regardless of the popularity of the beautiful beach front. Everything needed was close by and easily accessible. Fabulous Beach House with an Extraordinary View !

What a spectacular property ! We often rent large houses around the world for family gatherings as we are somewhat scattered around the globe. This particular property is a stand out ! It was exactly as it was described and photographed ... and perfect for us. The location of the house ensures a spectacular view of Table Mountain across the bay and its position on the rocks makes for a wonderful soundtrack of the ocean and the waves. We were a large group that never felt crowded as the living spaces flow very well. All bedrooms are very high end and stylishly finished, and the views are magnificent. It is the perfect house for a large group of friends and/or family from a practical standpoint but what makes it a gem is the ability to sit outside, glass of good South African wine in hand, and watch the sun set over the bay beside Table Mountain. The owner Virginia is delightful and a pleasure to correspond with and the manager and staff that took care of us at the house went above and beyond to ensure that we were happy and had all that we needed. I would highly recommend the property ..... We simply cannot wait to return ! Thank you Virginia.

Amazing Experience

We fell in-love with the photos online and felt like it possibly couldn't be as nice in person. We were wrong. This is a fantastic place to stay. We were visiting from America with other relatives and friends coming from Asia--for a wedding in the Stellebosch area. There were 12 of us that stayed at this house full-time and a few others were able to stay a few nights with us as well. We even hosted a smallish dinner for friends and family. It was great to have such a wonderful 'home-base' for this international family vacation. The only downside was we were so busy with activities and trying to see everything we didn't get to spend much time AT this house--and we all regret that a bit. It's just a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the view. The owner was a breeze to work with. The two-house keepers were amazing and the property manager even went out of her way to meet us late at night to open the house for us. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Our stay was phenomenal to say the least!

Thank you to Virgina for letting us stay in her home! It is such a beautiful space to be in with amazing views. Her decor is impeccable and even though most of us live in CT, it felt like we were "away" because of the holiday feel of the home. Thank you to Emma who managed the space and ensured that all our requests were met. And to Conny who maintains the home, such a pleasure to be around and work with. We hosted a small intimate wedding on the premises and i think the home and beauty of it, added to the amazing experience for Bride and Groom. We will definitely be back, thank you!

Outstanding Retreat

The house is truly extraordinary. It provides outstanding views of Cape Town, Table Mountain and the beach from almost all of the house. All of the rooms are well furnished and it is quite comfortable. There are several restaurants within a short walk through the safe neighborhood and a shopping area with a food store is within a 5 minute drive. The house is well stocked with all the necessaries including the kitchen. The daily maid service allowed to us have all the benefits of a house rental but none of the cleaning burden. The local manager knows the owner quite well as was easily available to deal with any questions or concerns. The traffic in the morning and evening can be a bit of a bother at times but was well worth the exchange for the location. The large house allows people to have individual privacy or gather as a group. The setting is beautiful and the location provides excellent access by car for sightseeing. Our group of ten would certainly stay here again when next in Cape Town.

Lovely home for spending holidays

House of Angels is really as good as it appears to be in the web page. Well maintained, close to the sea, you can fish small sharks from the terrace..., comfortable heated pool inside the house, close to restaurants and shopping centres, large and quiet, the wake up is really special - 180º sea view -, friendly people in the area, safe ans secure, Cape Town Bowl and Table Mountain direct view..., in summary, a place you must go once.

The location of this property is incredible - right on the ocean with an amazing view of Table Mountain.The house is beautifully decorated. The staff and property manager are friendly, helpful and very accommodating.We had a lovely stay, and would love to rent again.

A beautiful house in a fantastic location

Our extended family stayed here for a week before a wedding. The house is beautiful. Plenty of space for family to relax and spend time together. The view is spectacular and the access to little coffee shops and restaurants is perfect. Having a second sitting area allowed some members to watch the cricket while others could chat. The full kitchen allowed us to make dinners for 15 family and friends. Connie and Edwin keep the place spotless and took excellent care of us. It was a very special opportunity to spend time with extended family. Walk onto the rocks. Sleep with the doors open and sea noise and fresh air. Sit on the deck and walk to restaurants for meals. Highly recommend.

Gorgeous villa

Our stay was too short with all the beauty and hospitality that was shown. We loved the villa. The view was sensational as was the property manager, Virginia and Emma. Both Emma and Virginia was so sweet and responds quickly with all questions and concerns. Emma was accommodating to all of our needs and concerns. She made our trip effortless and beautiful. The only issue that was a challenge was the air conditioner going out in 3 rooms which caused discomfort when sleeping in those rooms during our stay. Emma was very kind and helpful in trying to resolve the issue, but it wasn't able to be fixed during our stay. Besides that, everything and everyone was very helpful, especially with it being our first time visiting. They helped to make our stay special for my mothers 50th birthday trip. We had a personal chef and Emma was able to work with him as well, to accommodate the surprises we had for my mother. Emma truly went out of her way to make us feel welcomed. We are so grateful for the time we had and wished we could have stayed longer. I would definitely return and recommendend staying there. Emma even left a beautiful parting gift on our last night. We are truly grateful.
