New apartment and called Gold because of the adopted colour scheme, this apartment offers a myriad of other experiences to please both the romantic and the young at heart. Gold provides excellent views of the seafront where all the major ferry boats moor (harbour/round Malta cruises, and Gozo/Comino/Valletta visits). The open top tourist and route buses' terminus is across the road, as is the seaplane departure point, making sightseeing a trouble-free delight. Restaurants and cafes abound in this locality, creating a pleasurable hub of activity. A fantastic break in Malta

We chose the apartment because it was central to the restaurants, shops and ferry to Valletta. It was absolutely perfect. We were within 5 minutes of many, many excellent restaurants and my wife was delighted there was a Marks and Spencer’s on our doorstep. The apartment itself was also excellent. The rooms were spacious and balcony overlooking the harbour was a wonderful place to sit and have an early evening drink before heading out. A big thank you to Paul who helped us make our stay in Malta a most enjoyable experience.

False impression

Paul was good at replying to our communications. We didn’t get any check-in details though, luckily the taxi firm he uses knew his ‘phone number and could get the keys for the apartment. We still had to contact Paul for details of how to leave the apartment at the end of our stay. The apartment, where do I start - we knew from the photos that it was quirky, but the reality was something else. We were 2 couples so we booked because it had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 sofas. But hey, no! One sofa had completely disappeared! The snooker table had become a pool table which has seen better days. The dining chairs had been recovered twice and had been patched up with tape. The television was held up by a speaker on one side and a small table on its side plus a book. There were no instructions for it and we couldn’t make it work. The round cushion on the floor surrounded by net curtains was in front of the air conditioning unit. There are several drawers in the bedrooms that couldn’t be used because there were no knobs on them. Some wiring and sockets were probably dangerous because they were hanging off the walls. The kitchen was fine and there were plenty of utensils and crockery. The beds were comfortable although some of the pillows could do with being replaced. The location was the best thing about the apartment, close to the water, the ferries, the buses and restaurants & shops.

Brilliant location in Sliema

Spacious property in an excellent location. It really is only a couple of minutes walk from shops, restaurants and the (10 minute) ferry across the harbour to Valetta. Apartment is on the second floor but there is a lift if required.

Ideal apartment - convenient, clean, quiet and comfortable.

Excellent communication before and during the rental. Airport pick-up and return (organised by owners) was inexpensive and efficient. Apartment is spacious, very well situated (close to everything) and well equipped. Thoroughly recommend it - thank you!

Great location, relaxing apartment.

The location of the apartment is perfect, plenty of shops and restaurants around - easy access to the ferry to Valletta and tour buses too. A nice view from the side of the balcony. The apartment is quite rustique but very comfortable, and the pool table is great for some post-touring relaxation. Would definitely stay again but hopefully arrive earlier, the owners kindly met us in the early hours because of a delayed flight!

Really pleased I chose this apartment - we all enjoyed staying in Gold!

Three of us (three adults) stayed in Gold in June 2019. We found the apartment to be spacious, comfortable and the pool table was a great source of amusement for the boys and me. As advertised, the property is perfectly situated very close to bus stops, ferries, restaurants, shops etc. The balcony is of a reasonable size and gives good views of the water and the local hustle and bustle; the view from the roof is even better because it opens up the view even more. I found Paul and Josanne to be very easy to talk to/deal with and if I return to Malta and choose to stay in Sliema again, I will go for Gold.

Excellent location

The apartment could not have been better placed for us as it was only a very short distance to get on public transport, hop on hop off buses and the ferry to Valetta. We had plenty of room and there was space for the three of us on the balcony. Wifi was free. We did not get round to using the jacuzzi and we hardly used the cooking facilities, scrambled eggs and toast a couple of mornings as there were plenty of restaurants round about to have breakfast, lunch or dinner

Central to all Amenities, Great Location

We stayed here for a long weekend. Apartment is close to shops, restaurants and the sea front with ferries across to Valletta and boat trips to Gozo, also bus stops close by for Gozo Ferry Port (1 hour trip each way), 40 minute walk to St Julians Bay. Lovely clean apartment, with 2 bathrooms (one en-suite to main bedroom). Second Bedroom is two single beds. We arranged Taxi through the apartments owners, no problems here, collected us from airport on time and dropped us back at the end of our stay. We enjoyed staying here and for a short visit it was a perfect place being close to all Amenities.

A fun apartment in a great location

Feb 2017 (UK half term break) The view of Valetta from Silema is fabulous. You can see the Silema harbour from the balcony. The apartment was good for our family of 4 (2 young boys). The bedrooms are next to each other - one double, one twin - so they were confident going to sleep at night in a new place. They are at the back of the apartment so quiet and dark at night. The TV has sky channels and the pool table was great fun. We couldn't log on to the home internet for some reason (but I expect it was due to our phones rather than the connection which is made free by the owner and has a strong signal). There is local free wifi in range so it wasn't a problem. We tried to fill the hot tub twice but couldn't get enough hot water to submerge the jets (it's so big!) but the children loved splashing in it anyway. I guess we could have left the hot water immersion on for longer but didn't get round to doing this and felt bad wasting the energy! Paul was very helpful when we needed help lighting the gas oven and got back in touch with us immediately. I would have appreciated some basics in the kitchen e.g. olive oil, salt and pepper, sugar, maybe even a tea or coffee for our arrival, and soap in both bathrooms. However, this was not promised up front and perhaps other people wouldn't like to share, so I can see why some owners do not provide this. A supermarket is in easy walking distance up the hill behind the apartment (not open on Sunday) and there are a few convenience stores along the Silema front underneath the apartment where you can buy milk, fruit, bread or postcards. Parking was convenient - we always managed to find a space near the apartment - and it was free on the road. Bars and eateries are directly below the apartment. There is a Dr Juice bar 20m away which the boys loved and a few ice cream parlours. There are lots of companies offering boat tours and tourist experiences on the promenade opposite the apartment. We didn't use any of these but instead took the local ferry (almost opposite M&S) across to Valetta for about 2.80euro return. It takes about 10 mins and they shuttle backwards and forwards all day. We loved our trip to Malta. The weather was beautiful. About 16-18C most days and sunshine/blue skies. Just what we needed to break from the UK grey. Other recommendations for families with kids: Playmobil fun park Golden Sands beach Canon firing, Valetta Battery Valetta War Bunker A small playground outside Mdina's gate/carpark

Excellent location right on the sea front

The owners son picked us up from the airport and brought us to the apartment even though it was very late at night. He gave us a welcome pack including Maltese bread, cheese, ham and a bottle of sparkling wine. The rooms are clean and comfortable with plenty of wardrobe space. The view from the balcony and especially the roof terrace is spectacular. The location could not be any better with shops and restaurants on your doorstep. The buses and ferry tours are only across the road for exploring the island. The owners were wonderful hosts and even picked us up to go to another apartment.

Christmas time in Sliema

The apartment was just fine for the 8 of us, aged 13 to 63: 2 bedrooms (= 4 pers.) + 2 coaches (= 4 pers.) + 2 bathrooms. The location was perfect: right in the city center (so don´t expect the quietness of the countryside!), close to restaurants, the mall, the ferry to Valetta, bus stop, etc... We did not feel too closely spaced in the apartment since while some of us were cooking, others took a shower, played billiard, smoked on the balcony or roof top (by the way, very nice view over Valetta from there). It has also been very nice being picked up from the airport! Thanks to Paul and Josanne for the very friendly contact! We´ll keep very good memories of this stay!

New years 2013

We spent the day of the year in this apartment and it is very well. Ideally located close to all amenities and close to Valletta via the bus stops and the boat are less than 100 meters. we had a very good stay. the apprtement is very good and the owners are very welcoming. Perfect Holiday in June

Perfect apartment in a perfect location. The owners made our stay a great experience with a very clean, comfortable and serviceable apartment in a very central location. Close to ferries, buses and great swimming off the rocks just a short stroll away. Central but not at all noisy. The street has been closed to traffic and so provides a safe and pleasant environment, but not inconvenient. Local bars, restaurants and shopping just outside your door. The weather was very hot but the apartment comfortable with A/C or the breeze off the open doors onto the balcony. The view is fantastic across to Valetta and the ever changing harbour. A great place, thoroughly recommend you stay here. We hope to again, Malta is a wonderful place to holiday.

Great apartment in a great location. Our first trip to Malta and hopefully not our last. The apartment was perfect. The location is tremendous, close by the ferries, buses and swimming off the rocks, just a short walk away. It is literally in the middle of everything with a fabulous view, but not noisy. The weather was very hot but the apartment cool with A/C or opened doors to the breeze off the balcony. Convenient for food shopping or eating at local bars and restaurants. We had a great night watching the soccer finals at the local cafe literally next door. Or promenading around the bay with the locals every night. Owners very helpful and ensured everything was perfect in the apartment. Easy booking, easy stay!!

Hot July

Location, Location, Location, If you like Sliema, and we do, this is the perfect location, at the centre of everything, Shops, cafes, restaurants, transport are all on the doorstep. A well maintained very clean and comfortable apartment on the second floor (lift). Owners very helpful and could not do more to make the stay enjoyable. A thoroughhly enjoyable stay even in the heatwave?

First visit to Malta

We were 3 generations of 5 people having a short break in the sunshine.; ages from me, Granny, aged 77 down to the grandchildren 17 and 15. The apartment was just right for us and so convenient for all the buses and boats. It was easy to go to the supermarket for food but we ate out every night, enjoying the local food at very reasonable prices. We especially enjoyed the Bistro across the street from us. It was interesting to sit on the balcony and watch the people selling from the stalls and listen to the musicians. I felt safe sitting out on my own. The area was quite quiet. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The weather was perfect. We wished we could have stayed longer. We enjoyed 2 bus tours of the Island, sitting on top in the breeze and hopping on and off. Also a lovely cruise on the Helena to Comino and beautiful Blue Lagoon. The family went swimming. Good way to see the coastal line.

Malta with our Grandchildren

We stayed in this apartment for four nights in early April 2012 before moving down to Mellieha. There were eight of us in our party which included our three grandsons. What an excellent apartment and location, very close to buses, ferries, shop, restaurants, while remaining quite at night. The transfers from the airport were on time. Paul gave a very detailed briefing of the operations of equipment in the apartment, and even had a gift for our grandchildren. There was enough room for us all without feeling cramped. We have already recommended it to a relative for their visit to Malta. This was our second visit to Malta and we love everything about the place, and would look at staying there again on a return visit. Bob from Queensland, Australia

Excellent location, excellent apartment

For us, a family of four, this spacious apartment was ideally located in Sliema. We were beside shops and restaurants on the one hand but close to all transport (buses, ferries) on the other. The apartment was clean and well maintained and we were given a good introduction to all it's features by the owners. Arrangements to pick us up from the airport went smoothly, as did the return. I'd have no problem recommending this property to a friend or relative.

Sliema in June

My girlfriend and I spent seven nights in this apartment in June 2011. It was a wonderful holiday and an excellent apartment. It's very centrally located in Sliema, with plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. There are water taxi's and buses that can take you Valetta and other parts of the island very easily. The apartment is very large and clean and Paul was extremely helpful with any advice and help we needed, including picking up from the airport. Highly recommend!

A great location in Sliema.

My two brothers and I have just spent the last six weeks in what we think is one of the best apartments in Sliema.From the time we made the booking to the time we left this wonderful apartment we could not fault the owners Paul and Josanne.They made us very welcome and treated us more like family then tenants,so much so that they invited us to their lovely home for lunch and we talked as we had known each other for years. The apartment is very central and is very close to to public transport,the ferry to Valletta is also across the road, and you do not need a car to get around as it is all there for you. The street where the unit is is located is going to be the best street in Sliema when the roadworks are finalised, and completion was very close when we left Malta on Saturday.The street will be a pedestrian mall with shops along the road and cafe's/restaurants around the corner. Although there are cafe's and restaurants everywhere in Sliema,it is also great to stay in the unit and have a great night at home and cook for yourself as there is every thing that you need in their lovely kitchen.The supermarket is also up the road so there is no excuse. I remember telling Paul on the first day that we arrived that the photos of the apartment does not do the unit justice and it actually looks better when you see it for yourself. We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone contemplating coming to Malta and we will surely be making a return and check the availability of this apartment. Why they chose this property

Sliema is a vibrant area, but this area in particular is the heart of the city. Just across the road from the ferry boats, the tourist buses, and the route buses, you really are right where you want to be. Equally important is the fact that the street is a pedestrianized road, now dotted with little cafes, restaurants, shops, boutiques, supermarket, malls, etc. it is a joy when you step out of the door and find yourself in the midst of happy people going about their business, all with a smile on their face as if this place compels you to be on the brighter side of life. Sitting out in the balcony, just smelling the aroma of fresh coffee coming up from the cafes below, or that mouth-watering smell of something just baked fresh in the early morning just makes for the start of a great day. The rest is up to you..... and that is just the morning. Gold is south facing, and thus receiving natural sunlight for most of the day; well insulated and so neither too hot in summer nor too cold in winter. To us, and hopefully to you as well....this is just perfect.

We like to call Gold a fun place because whether you're enjoying a beer at the small bar and playing a game of pool with your staying friends, or else a couple, romantically enjoying the jacuzzi in its private alcove, makes us stand out. We don't aim for standardization, our goal is being different, unique, and unlike others....and that's what holidays should be all about.
