Great place great owner

The house and view was better than advertised! Beautiful place, everything you need for family or friends stay on the island of Eleuthera. Mark and Mercy were great and very responsive, although we didn’t really need them much. We loved the laid back atmosphere and also enjoyed exploring. Food was all amazing.

Great location steps from the ocean! Be aware there are only two bathrooms and they are Jack and Jill. House overall adequate they could step up the landscaping and at least the maintenance and also of the pool. You will have to clean it every day massive amounts of bugs.

Great view

House was great for two family's. The heated pool was awesome with fantastic views. The owner Mark is very nice and easy to get a hold of. Things to keep in mind; the beach right out front is rocky but a short walk to a beautiful beach.

Seaview Villa

This vacation rental is fantastic. From the pool to steps from the ocean, we couldn't have asked for anything more. We arrived on December 30 and spent a week and were never without anything to do. We snorkeled right at the beach, paddled the double kayaks and relaxed in and around the pool. We did have a few bouts with loss of power but Mercy the caretaker and the owner were very diligent and responsive when it occurred. Would advise buying your produce etc at Island Farms which is just a 10 minute from from the vacation rental. Otherwise there are a couple of small grocery stores in Govenors Harbour. We had a great stay

Wonderful Villa

We stayed at Mark’s beautiful villa for two weeks. Our 6th trip to ELU and first time at Seaview. The house is beautiful and exactly as Mark has it listed. Everything you need is there. Mark and Mercy were very accommodating and quick with answers to questions and assistance when/if needed. Had a great time!!

PERFECT Vacation!

We were looking for something off the beaten path where we could totally unplug and found paradise! Seaview Villa is a fabulous house. The views are to die for and the flow of the house couldn't be better for multiple couples (or families with kids). We spent every day either by the pool or on the beach kayaking and snorkeling and couldn't have asked for better weather. Mark has thought of everything you could possibly need for a perfect vacation and Mercy is super responsive if you have questions or need assistance. We will definitely be back!!

Stunning Villa - Exceeded All Expectations!!

The villa was even better than the photos online and the view was spectacular. So clean and fresh, and views of the ocean from all of the front rooms was unbelievable. Our family arrived Christmas Eve and had the fridge fully stocked which saved us for the two first days (Christmas Day and Boxing Day). The communication with the host was exceptional and he replied very quickly and was always checking in on us. The beach’s to the right and to left of the villa were amazing - can walk either way (low tide) for hours and find other amazing beaches for snorkelling and swimming (completely private other than the other people from the other villas on the beach). But we were the only ones on the beach for the entire week. If you want to go to Eleuthera, Seaview Villa is a must for you to stay. Thank you Mark for sharing your villa and Merci for making sure we were set for the Holidays. Great way to start the new year.

“Best vacation of my life”

As our family of five sat by the pool side on our last night, staring out at the thousands of stars up above in the black sky , we spend our last night on this beautiful island thinking about our vacation. Or three young adult children, so used to the hustle and bustle and technology of today’s world, all gave a resounding “best vacation of my life“ review. They appreciated the disconnect, the quiet, and the friendliness of the island. The homeowner was extremely helpful, knowledgeable about the island, and hospitable. The homes caretaker, Mercy, was also a wealth of knowledge and comfort. I could go on for paragraphs, but I won’t, just know we’ve already referred this homeowner and the beautiful island of Eleuthera to our family and friends. My husband and I expect that when we return, our family will probably have grown, and this large spacious, updated home, will accommodate that as well. Thank you to Mark and Mercy. We miss you already

Post-pandemic family reconnection

After two years of canceled vacations because of the pandemic, we needed a place to just get away and to reconnect as a family. Eleuthera and Seaview Villa was the perfect destination and the perfect house for our family of four. The beach was beautiful - filled with reefs and sea life. The pool was inviting and well used by all of us. The amenities of the house were a huge plus. While North Palmetto Point lost power and water service frequently during our stay, it really didn’t affect us as the house has a backup generator and it’s own water cistern. The location was ideal because it was a short drive to grocery stores, urgent care, and restaurants but, yet, far enough away to be very secluded. We shared our beach with no one! Being in central Eleuthera was also nice in that we were easily able to make day trips to the far northern end and far southern end of the island. Any issues we may have had were quickly addressed by Mark and/or Merci. Our family agreed that this was our best vacation yet. Seaview Villa will be on our list for a revisit!

Fantastic Property

This is a beautiful property. The view is truly spectacular and the location is convenient to town but not so close as to be noisy. The house is completely private on all four sides. It sits high enough off the water that you can't be seen from the beach below and the lush vegetation on each side completely obscures it from the neighboring houses. The kitchen is well equipped, the pool is gorgeous and the layout is conducive to a group of two or ten. Our only complaint was the firmness of the mattress. We are accustomed to a pillow top mattress so this one was much too firm for us but this is a matter of personal preference. We have stayed in many vacation properties over the years and this is a fantastic house. The owners were absolutely great - responsive and helpful in every way. We can recommend this house without reservation and know that it will be easy for them to keep rented as it's reputation grows. The island is absolutely gorgeous, the people are friendly, the fish is fresh and the organic farm just down the road had glorious greens and baked goods. This is a wonderful house for a vacation and you won't be disappointed.

Pure Relaxation

Seaview Villa was the most spectacular house out of three visits to the island. It accommodated six people comfortably, well enough to come together, but also separate. The beach is the best area we have encountered thus far, great for snorkeling and wading. The pool was the center of fun! We relaxed, we played, we floated, we tanned and we admired the bird or birds we named, "Charlie or Charley" who came for sips of water. The water filtration system came in handy when we were unable to make it to the store on time upon arrival (the fridge ice maker worked well too!) We rented our SUV from Big Daddy's, who was very accommodating when we broke down over an hour away from the house. They arranged for a taxi to pick us up and returned the repaired vehicle the same evening, allowing us to make it to Tippy's for my husband's birthday dinner. Everything you need to cook, shower, play, and relax are available in this fabulous house. You will not be disappointed from the very first step inside. The views are so sensational it becomes euphoric, allowing for total and pure relaxation from the busy life we lead. Must Do's: Harbor Island, Tippy's (live music nights), Sapphire Blue Hole, Preacher's Cave, Devil's Backbone, Cleaomie's massage, and Goombay Punch. 😊 Thanks for the memories! Best family vacation yet!

This was our first time visiting Eleuthera. Thankfully the Bahamas opened up to tourism July 1st after being closed for nearly 4 months due to Covid 19. Their requirements to travel were simple and to the point. You must present a negative Covid Test, taken within 10 days of your flight, and an electronic health visa upon entry. We got our test back in 3 days and as soon as I applied for the health visa I received a confirmation email Instantaneous allowing us entry to the Bahamas. We were all set! The only requirement my wife and daughter had was choosing a house with a pool, and I wanted to be centrally located on the island. We began shopping around, and contacted several listings in this area. By far, Mark was the most informative and flexible during these times. Communication is huge to me and that was the deciding factor. Once we arrived at Seaview Villa on July 4th I knew right away we had chosen the right property. The view is spectacular! The house and pool were perfect for us. We lost power for almost 24 hours and the back up generator never missed a beat. That was huge! We only saw one other couple one the beach the entire 8 day we were there. We can not wait to get back! Thank you Mark and Sarah for sharing your amazing home in paradise! Private Paradise

Words can hardly describe Seaview Villa. The home is far beyond the online photos. This was a family vacation for four adults and three teens, and we had plenty of room. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The home is well stocked with anything needed for cooking, and the grill was great. As great as the house is we spent most of our time in the pool or at the beach. The pool was especially nice at night to view the stars. Snorkeling at the beach was great. I spent a great deal of time in the evening combing the beach for tiny shells. We saw a few sharks, a sting ray and several different fish. Went to Ten Bay Beach which is a short drive...also awesome. Went to Island Farms also nearby. Homemade cinnamon rolls baked on Tuesday & Friday. Glass Bridge worth the drive north...about 1 hour. Continued on north and took a water taxi to Spanish Wells...$10 per person round trip. Rented a small boat & golf cart for the day for less than $200. Went to Friday night fish fry in Governors Harbour, which had a good crowd. We only saw four other people at the beach in front of Seaview Villa, and they were the neighbors taking a walk. We took an Adventure Tour with Fishbone Tours and it was amazing! We ate at their restaurant afterwards and it was very good. The only other place we tried was Mate & Jenny’s Pizza which was good. We were too exhausted at night to go anywhere. The home owners were great and were quick to reply to any questions we had. They even followed up with us after our stay to address any issues we may have had or found with the house. We had no problems. Everything was truly wonderful...it felt like home! Like other guests before us we left behind a few supplies for future guests...snorkel gear, sunscreen, bug spray, etc. There are pool rafts which also came in very handy! We rented a vehicle from Big Daddy’s, and it was waiting for us at the airport (GHB). If you are looking for a place that is secluded and serene Seaview Villa is it, and you will not be disappointed! I cannot wait to return!!!

Gorgeous House and View!

My wife and I stayed for a week in March 2021, which had been re-booked from the Covid closures in March 2020. After 2 years in the making, this property didn't disappoint! On arrival, we thought the property was even better in person than the pictures show. The view was spectacular. We never got tired of looking out on that water, as far as the eye could see, even while enjoying the pool. We swam every afternoon when we got back from our daily activities. The beach below the house is gorgeous. It is characteristic of the bigger, popular pink sand beaches on the island, except we didn't see another soul on it for the entire week. We spent two days of 7 just enjoying the house, pool and beach. Every evening we would walk the beach. It was enjoyable having the pool and beach when we didn't want to go out or to refresh after we came home. The house is perfectly situated at the mid-point of the island, so it makes it convenient to get to attractions in the North and South. We spent 2 days South, going as far as Lighthouse Beach, and one day we stopped for the fresh catch of the day in Tarpum Bay (a huge Grouper which we grilled at the house). We spent 2 days going North, one for a boat charter off Spanish Wells in which we swam with the turtles, pigs and stingrays and spearfished for lobster (dinner on the grill at the house) and one day we spent sightseeing on Harbor Island. We were able to experience everything the island has to offer, and all the beautiful beaches, from the location in Palmetto Point. When we didn't want to cook in, we had Tippys and Fishbone nearby. The house itself is laid out perfectly for couples or a family. It was very clean, comfortably furnished, and the kitchen was well equipped for meal prep. Having the generator was huge! We lost power for short periods several mornings but the generator kicked on within 30 seconds and we never missed a beat. I wouldn't even consider renting a house without one now that we have been to this house. Mark has thought of everything. He was great to work with both with our initial booking in 2020, and re-booking for 2021. He was responsive to our questions prior to arrival, and had helpful info regarding shopping (groceries can be a challenge here so it helps to know where to go and what is available) and also with getting our day 5 on-island Covid tests booked (required by the Bahamas). We had a fabulous time here, and highly recommend booking Seaview Villa!

Paradise Lost

We've rented in Eleuthera before so we are very familiar with the island. I'm torn on this review. It is a great property and deserves probably more than 5 stars but ironically we should have cancelled the reservation if we had known the condition of the beach. Honestly at the time we were there.....the beach in front of the house did not exist and getting in the water was almost impossible. This information was not forwarded to us and that is a shame. In early March there was a huge Nor'easter that traveled to the Caribbean and major beach erosion developed on the Atlantic side of Eluethera. So violent was the storm that the famous Glass Window Bridge was closed and so were parts of Queens Highway. This was about the time our final payment was due. Had we known we could have made other plans. We were not told about this. I understand that the owner cannot control the weather but he can control information and keep us updated. What use is a Bahama beach house without access to the water. There was no access to the ocean for kayaking, snorkeling, fishing and swimming as stated in the description. You had to climb on rocks and boulders to even attempt to get to the water and then when there there was a 3-4 foot drop off. There was so much sand missing that the beautiful beach deck and staircase had exposed concrete footings that measured a little over 3 feet. That probably means at least 5 feet of sand had washed away according to what I saw in the photos on the VRBO website. Now some info on the house. Tankless water heater went out before we arrived. Mark had a smaller 20 gallon water heater install. It worked fine for the 4 of us. Altho the pool was great, the pool light has been broken since March so swimming at night is something we didn't attempt. Kitchen is very well equipped including the blender for making great mango daiquiris and a huge electric grill for doing breakfast. Big fridge with an ice maker that does a good job. Nice sized Samsung Smart TV with Apple TV. Good thing because Cable hasn't made it yet to this part of the island. Wifi is spotty at best. If you have any young ones with devices needing internet you will be rebooting the router quite often. There isn't a sound system so bring your own music. All in all, if/when the beach comes back it will be a fantastic location for vacation. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for us.

YES! YES! YES! Click Book it! DONE:)

Im still lost for words over this vacation. This house is perfect! First of all due to covid our vacation was canceled one month before coming. We looked at pictures of this home so many times just due to our excitement of arriving. Let me tell you upon arrival. I jumped out of the car and walked to the pool ocean view area and it was beyond our expectations. It took my breath way! It is Stunning!! The outside area is so spacious. The pool was wonderful. The grill is a great size for a large group. The 2 outdoor showers were great as everyone ran to grab showers after a beach day. That gave us 4 showers. The outdoor showers are hot and cold options. Really nice. The place had plenty of outdoor seats, beach chairs and beach coolers. As you walk thru the front door you will be first hit by the full ocean view thru the other side of the room. Beautiful! The kitchen is large. Perfect for many people making drinks, cooking or setting the table. The house has a great stove, dishwasher, and lots of counter space. It also has extra large washer and dryer. The house is fully stocked with sharp knifes, utensils and many adorable serving platters. The living room is spacious as I have a family of 8. The kids range from 14 to 25. They have an extensive reading and video collection. The bedrooms are really spacious. All the rooms have big closet with safe boxes. The bathrooms are big with fantastic showers. Overall. This house was build for comfort. It's big, clean and super easy to be away in paridise. Mark and his wife are wonderful owners. Our communication was always quick and full of information. I hope you enjoy this home. It's a gorgeous place. We definitely will be staying again. Just a quick note about the area. We flew in Governors Harbor. Less than 30 minutes to the house. We spent every day at the Caribbean side because the water is unbelievable. Our favorite beach was Ten bay. Less than 8 minutes away. Or you can go to south palmetto less than 5 minutes. Both gorgeous! Theres a store in Governors harbor and they have a great selection. I do recommend bringing a cooler from home with your favorite frozen meats. Lots of travels recommend it. Hit the local farm stand. We bought local delicious fruits, vegetables and amazing fresh breads. Buy fresh fish at 3:30ish in tarpum bay dock. Rent a SUV. Visit Queens bath (wear good water shoes "sea urchins ") and please visit Lighthouse point. It's amazing!!

Lives up to its name!

My family enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and as pictured. The beds were comfortable. A few extra supplies like bug spray, sunscreen, laundry powder ect. were left in the activity closet. We contributed back as well. Mercy was kind and helpful. Mark even called and checked in. Power was intermittent but that's Eleuthera. We hardly noticed thanks to the generator. I would check in with Mark if the beach is important to you. Unfortunately, my mother could not access the water safely, nor take a walk down the beach as the the area in front of Seaview was all rock while we were there. Thankfully the pool and that view helped soften the disappointment. We understood from the picture that there would be the possibility of some rocks but didn't realize how bad it could be. Lesson learned. Everything else about the house was wonderful!. Lots to love including the neighborhood kitty's that hung around morning and night. We enjoyed trying to get lost and reconnecting with locals we have befriended over the years. Eleuthera is a special place we look forward to our next trip!

Perfect escape for the week

Our family enjoyed a great thanksgiving holiday week at Sea View Villa. The house feels very private with amazing views over the ocean that are constantly changing. The house is clean and suffiently appointed. The caretaker, Merci is wonderful. Great central location if you want to explore the entire island of Eleuthera…which is well worth it in our opinion. Highlights were our fishing trip with Big Mac Fishing and Boat Tours (caught large wahoo and mahi), jumping in the Sapphire Blue Hole, and exploring the many nearby beaches. The weather was a little windier during our stay so the snorkling was far better at Ten Bay Beach and French Leave Beach. We still thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the ocean at Sea View and long walks in both directions at North Palmetto Beach. Feels odd to say the walk north from the house was the more beautiful when either direction is outstanding. The one “wish we had known earlier in our stay” = nearby Eleuthera Island Farm has nearly everything you need grocery-wise for a week’s stay — fresh veggies, fruits, meats, and home baked goods, as well as wine and alcohol. Another tip = stick to the one-lane coastal road to get to Tippy’s rather than going out to the main road like Google Maps suggests. It is very short drive north of the house.

Our family of 6 including 4 young children had a wonderful week here. Comfy beds, plenty of towels and dishes, laundry room, and open layout made this a great family friendly choice. Best location on island

The pictures do not fully capture the beauty of Seaview Villa. Best beach and reefs on Eleuthera are right out back. Perched up on a hill, there is a stunning view that never got old and the distance of neighbors made it totally private. There is a nice reef for snorkeling close in to the left and another out 100 yards from it that is loaded with fish. Mark was easy to work with and provides great recommendations of restaurants and things to do. Highlights were Hatchet Bay Caves (bring flashlight as it goes about half mile in), blue holes, boat rental from Spanish Wells (fed turtles, stingrays, and snorkeled Devil's Backbone reef), and day trip to Harbor Island. Being centrally located on he island was good for day trips in both directions. Would also recommend renting the SUV from Merci which was very useful getting to off the beaten path beaches. We were there for two weeks and felt there was still so much left to explore. Already strategizing a return trip.
