If you are looking for a central apartment and wanting to experience historical Edinburgh then this is the place to be. This fantastic apartment is located in the Grassmarket area of Edinburgh just a stones through from Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. There are a great selection of pubs, restaurants, antique shops etc on your doorstep. This apartment is available for Self Catering & Holiday Lets, Short Term & Corporate Lets, City & Weekend Breaks and the Festival.

The apartment has been stylishly decorated throughout and consists of two double bedrooms, one a very large master bedroom. The good size living room contains a large corner sofa and is open to the fully equipped brand new modern kitchen, which has a breakfast table.
There is a winding staircase to get to the front door so the apartment is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with mobility issues.
Additional facilities included in this property consist of a large LCD TV, DVD Player, WiFi Internet access, Telephone, Microwave, Washing Machine, Hair Dryer.

Fantastic Location.

Lovely apartment in a fantastic location. Brand new bathroom which was lovely although property quite dusty (maybe due to bathroom being finished the day before?). Very central and easy to get to places on foot as long as you don’t mind a hill or two! Would definitely recommend.

Really disappointed

Really disappointed by our stay here. The location is great and the kitchen looks new but everything is done to a poor standard making everything feel dirty (new stone worktops and splashbacks) - but the walls didnt look like theyd been painted and there was a clear accumulation of dust on top. Definitely the worst place weve booked on vbro. Bathroom is the worst bit but none of i is particularly well finished; black mould around the shower sealant, together with a bathroom sink that took an age to drain and dusty / dirty skirting boards.There were faults everywhere from the burn mark on the carpet, the missing theshold strip, the mouldy gas pipe, the doors that didnt close properly etc. The lounge seemed nice and looks like its been refurbished but the corner the sofas meet in, has a think layer of dust and wasnt clean.We made the most of it and the location was great, but won be going back or recommending.

Fantastic location

Fabulous location, really central for everything you need. Our hosts were very accommodating and kindly allowed us to check in a little earlier and out a little later, which really made a difference. :)

Great location, needs a little TLC

The location of this property couldn’t be better, practically in the middle of Edinburgh and only a short walk from most of the attractions we wanted to see. However that came with one downside, which was that the noise from people on the street was very loud and continued until 3am one night, I was in the front bedroom and it was a very difficult nights sleep. The flat itself is nice, however we encountered a few issues with the boiler having low pressure, the toilet not flushing and one of the fuse box switches having been tripped on arrival - all easy fixes but not something I’d expect to have to fix myself. Overall it was a good stay, I just think the flat needs a little TLC.

Tattoo Visit

Location very good. Busy area. So noisy at night. The flat is good for getting around. We had trouble getting in as we did not realise we had to push service button first and then use the keys for the flat upstairs. Plenty of clean linen and towels if you are staying for a longer period.

Great Location in the Grassmarket

Apt in a Great location in the Grassmarket. The apartment is in an old building with stone spiral steps so if you had mobility issues it would not suit you. Looks to have had a new kitchen installed as different from the listed photos, well enough equipped. Large front bedroom. Medium sized second bedroom. Small bathroom but it done the job. Only criticism is that the apt could really do with a fresh lick of paint. All in all we had a good stay here. Thank you

Excellent location, well equipped flat

Everything about the flat was good, the comfortable beds, hot shower, well equipped kitchen, plenty of space and cleanliness made it a pleasure to stay at. This is located in an old building so expect the odd creaky floorboards and occasional sticky door - it adds character. The location was amazing, we walked to the castle in 5-10 minutes. Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants within a minute or two. We found breakfast at the place downstairs very good and would definitely recommend the Mussel and Steak bar next door too. The flat was warm enough without the heating on and there were big windows to open if too warm. We would certainly stay here again although I'd recommend earplugs of you are a light sleeper as there is a late night bar just across the road - we had the windows open all night so could people chatting. Everything from booking to leaving was easy and Gavin was always available on the run up to arrange check in and departure.

Perfect location and decent property

Other reviews describe property well, but some are a little harsh. A bit rough around the edges in some regards but it has everything you need and the location is perfect. For the location this ample size property is very hard to beat for value. Perfect for myself and I enjoyed my stay here very much.

Good area, but flat needs updated

This flat is in a good area, in central Edinburgh. It's an old flat, so can forgive some features (like uneven floors) but the floor into the kitchen is actually sagging and needs attention. A lick of paint would also make the place much more appealing (and cover the stains on kitchen wall and bathroom ceiling). Bathroom and living areas cleanliness were ok. However, the kitchen was not clean - we cleaned out the frindge and needed to clean anything we were going to use first, before we were comfortable using it. Oven controls were also broken/illegible so impossible to see what setting it was on. The bed in the second bedroom needs replacing - it had many broken slats, that weren't fitted in correctly and kept falling down, and a stained mattress. At least the bedding seemed clean. We also had an issue with the second set of keys which were missing one of the required keys, but we managed with one set and left notes for the owner. The outer door lock to the block of flats was broken when we arrived, but was fixed during our stay. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Edinburgh and this could be a lovely flat if these points were addressed.

This was a perfect location for our trip with everything being easy walking distance. Plenty of shops and pubs on your doorstep. Flat was nice and big and bright and had everything we need. Needs a few minor repairs. Overall, better than expected.

Edinburgh Festival 2 night stay

Ideal flat for a 2 night Festival stay for 2 couples. Comfortable beds and everything you need. Very obliging hosts re luggage and an ideal location looking right down Grassmarket. And for such a central location an undisturbed nights sleep with the assistance of very good secondary glazing!

Excellent location but noisy.

The location is great in Grassmarket with all restaurants and pubs. The downside is all the noise. Very noisy until 3 a.m. from schreaming and shouting people in the street. The apartment wasn't very well cleaned. A lot of dust in many places, i.e on shelfs where you had to store your clothes. Floor in kitchen wasn't in good condtion (sagging in several places). The layout of the apartment was good and the rooms of very good size. A lot of utilities in the kitchen.

Lovely older location for travel throughout Edinburgh

Remember this is a very very old and historic area of Edinburgh. Steep climbing to flat. Nice sized bedrooms but noise from traffic and restaurant below. Comfy beds with plenty of bedding. Cushions placed on sectional need renewed; frying pans need renewed; coffee pot and toaster need to be cleaned before new renters; battery in clock needs to be replaced; light bulbs need to be replaced. Writing around the nobs for oven temperature on the cooker are non-existent and we had to try and figure that out with Google! Took us a while to figure out central heating and TV! (even with instructions from the owner) but when we did, worked perfectly. Windows are very old and very drafty. Bathroom good size but don't hit your head on the medicine cabinet trying to wash your face in the basin; shower was perfect. Floors are very old and sagging in some spots (again an historic flat). Garbage has to be put out in the bins across the road on the street. If simple things were fixed, I would stay here again as the price for late October was good.

L'appartement est très bien situé, au coeur de la vieille ville. Il est équipé simplement mais correspond tout à fait à nos attentes pour visiter Edimbourg. Les fenêtres nécessiteraient d'être équipées d'un double vitrage pour un meilleur confort. Excellent spacious flat in a fantastic location- ideal for the Edinburgh Festival

We had a wonderful time- as a family of four the flat met all our needs, it was spacious and nicely presented. Right on the Grassmarket we were in the heart of the action and were able to really soak up the atmosphere of the Fringe, we could get to where we needed to go really easily and in the evenings it was so lovely to just head out onto the Grassmarket and pick one of the fab restaurants there. The property more than lived up to our expectations and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and hope to go back next year!

Good Location but not very good property

The property is not in very good shape, the front panel of the cutlery drawer is loose and you cannot open the drawer without if falling off. The bathroom ceiling is covered in mildew which is probably due to the fact that there is no extractor fan - or at least not one that works. I cannot see us recommending this property
