Have toured around France 3 times and this time we used a base area to get around from.. couldn't have asked for better. not to far from places of interest and yet rural enough for peace and quiet, the host's were easily accessible and we were well informed of the areas surrounding us. place was spotless and well maintained garden is beautiful.....
It was a lovely, well equiped , peaceful apartment. The hosts were a delight.....very kind and helpful and interesting to talk to.
Wonderful area- lots to do very nearby.
This was a lovely gite with beautiful views over the countryside. Carol and Phillip were the perfect hosts and suggested places to visit which was appreciated. We would highly recommend this gite and hope to return in the future.
A fantastic gite with the warmest of welcomes. Penneville is a wonderful location for exploring a wide area of France.
The gite was really well equipped and comfortable. Carol and Phillip were great hosts with fantastic local knowledge and tips for getting around.
A thoroughly enjoyable stay!
We rented this gite as a base where we could explore Normandy. It was in an excellent location - rural and yet not too far from the places we wanted to visit. The owners were very friendly and helpful and knew the area well as they had lived there for over 10 years. We really enjoyed our long weekend in Normandy and would certainly recommend this accommodation.

Quiet, relaxing, perfect
We stayed in this lovely, peaceful apartment in September, 2018 after a very busy week in Paris and highly recommend it. It is out in the country (yet in close proximity to many other points of interest) so is very quiet (we woke to roosters crowing), very clean and well furnished for an extended stay. Carol and Phillip, the hospitable hosts, were very pleasant and helpful when we had problems with our phone and limited French language abilities, and with suggestions for sightseeing excursions. Be sure to visit Etretat while you are in that area.

Beautiful, well presented rural Gite. Spotless with all you need & Close to amenities.
The information and welcome leading up to and during our stay was second to none. We enjoyed the rural setting with views over the fields and the garden is glorious. All this made for a relaxing stay with our grandchildren who enjoyed themselves immensely- the outdoor pool a few miles away, Rouan and Duclair were good visits close by and we enjoyed a trip to Giverny & Monet's house and garden. Playing 'Articulate' which we found in the cupboard was the highlight of our evenings! The gite itself was great - spotless, very well presented, spacious and with everything we needed. The basic provisions left for us including a very welcome bottle of wine were very much appreciated. I hope the opportunity arises for us to return to the area - we would certainly book again with no hesitation. Many thanks for a wonderful few days!

Delightful property, exactly as pictured. Rooms were large, well equipped and very comfortable.
We had a lovely few days in this deceptively roomy and we'll equipped gite in St Paer. Carol and Philip were very welcoming and on hand to help if we needed any information about the surrounding area. The information pack in the gite was very comprehensive and we were sorry we didn't have longer to do more including some of the walks detailed and visits to places of interest in that area of Normandy.

Quiet, perfect location with excellent hosts.
The property was the top floor of a beautiful house set in a super garden and surrounded by fields. Very clean and nicely decorated, our comfortable accommodation provided everything we needed and more. Carol and Phillip were warm and welcoming and 'went the extra mile' by leaving the basics in the kitchen (some bread, milk, tea, coffee, ham, butter etc) to get us through the first night - although we had already found a supermarket in nearby Duclare. They very thoughtfully provided a plethora of leaflets, guides and maps for browsing and these supplemented our itinerary. We had specifically chosen St. Paer for access to Rouen. It was about half an hour by car through very pretty countryside and each journey seemed to get shorter. There is much still to see in the area and we would have no hesitation in booking with Carol and Phillip again - if they would have us! Thank you for helping us to have an excellent and unforgettable holiday.

Beautiful, Serene! Wonderful hosts and a clean accommodation.
Our stay at Penneville over easter was just perfect. The flat, the linen, towels was clean and well maintained. Mr. & Mrs. Tompkins were very welcoming and made sure the flat was stocked up with essentials like milk, bread, tea, coffee and even a complementary bottle of wine. The hosts were very helpful and had good knowledge of the local area.
The garden in front of the house is beautiful. We had a nice relaxing afternoon with some nice wine in the garden.
It was a lovely stay and we would love to go back.
Highly recommended!

Perfect Penneville
If you are looking for a place to stay that offers great accommodation, great location and great hosts, then Penneville could be the place for you. From the very warm welcome on arrival, the generous welcome pack and the really helpful advice for eating out and where to visit, owners Carol and Phillip were just fantastic. The property itself was very well presented and spacious, with great views across the countryside. Although in a rural location, it is close enough to the local villages for shopping and eating out and to the public transport network. Certainly somewhere I would want to stay again and again.

Beatiful, tranquil and well located
We had a brilliant stay at Penneville. After the intensity of Paris we found ourselves relieved by the spaciousness, cleanliness and friendliness of the well appointed and well located gite. We adored nearby Duclair and ate way too much well priced and superb boulangerie products!
There are many great day trips from Penneville, Rouen and Bayeux being the obvious slelction, but we journeyed to Samara Archaeology Parc in the Somme and Pierrefonds Castle from Penneville too.
Carol and Phillip are the perfect hosts going above and beyond to ensure you have a good time. The welcome pack was very generous.
We adored looking out the windows across the field through to St. Paer. The gite is easy to find and just adorable. Our 13 and 11 year old daughters also enjoyed the gite and had fun exploring.
We couldn't recommend this accomodationmore highly.

Good place to be based to explore east Normandy
Property was easy to find from the instructions given. Carol and Philip were very helpful and friendly. They had good local knowledge with plenty of tips on where to visit and park etc. The gite was very clean with plenty of hot water. The double bed is very comfortable. The kitchen is adequately equipped. We did find that the sitting room was quite dark due to lack of a window. It was ok with the front door open.
The view from the gite is lovely and the area around St Paer is very pretty. We made good use of the free ferries across the Seine. Rouen and Honfleur are definitely worth a visit.
It was further to places like Bayeaux than we realised - it was about a 2 hour drive.

Lovely apartment in a great location
We had a great time staying at Penneville, Carol and Phillip were really welcoming to our family and had some great suggestions on where to take the kids.
We were warmly welcomed and given plenty of information about what to do and where to go. You will need a car because there is not much within walking distance.

Locatie is prima
Lovely stay in a lovely apartment in spite of the weather!!
We spent four comfortable days in the lovely self-contained apartment above Carol and Philip’s home. The two bedrooms were well appointed with plenty of hangars in the closets, heating that we were able to adjust ourselves on a couple very cool nights, and views onto their beautiful garden. The shower room was separate from the WC, a great convenience, and the front sitting room had a TV, books to borrow, and lots of information flyers about Normandy. The very well-equipped kitchen had a kettle, a toaster, a two-burner cook top, and a counter-top oven all of which we put to good use. A lovely welcome package greeted us with a bottle of wine, butter and milk, jam, and a loaf of bread. The apartment was well-located for our purposes, out in the country away from the noise of city living. We were grateful to have dedicated off-road parking when we returned in the evenings after a day of touring. We had some helpful and pleasant conversations with Carol and Philip who are very personable. We would highly recommend this property for your travels in Normandy.

Schattig verblijf
