Spacious property, great location, responsive owner.
The property is very spacious with great views, located in a quiet residential area, yet has easy access to San Diego's attractions, many of which are within just a 15 minute drive via the nearby I-5 highway. Parking at the property is no issue. A large supermarket is also just a 10 min drive away.
The property had every needed convenience with large main bedrooms, great dining space and a very well equipped kitchen. The provided high-chair and cot/crib for our youngest family member were also very welcome. The outside jacuzzi was also a great feature to relax in after a day out!
Overall we really liked our stay, and its proximity to everywhere we planned to go. We loved how much space we had, and really loved the backyard! We had 6 adults and two small children with us, there was plenty of space to never feel cramped but also still be together. The biggest issue we had was the beds, everyone in our group (minus the kids) had trouble sleeping on the very uncomfortable beds.
Great location with amazing views and central to just about everything. I would give it 5 stars however the place needs some upkeep such as the hand rail not being secure by the stairs, and rail on the gazebo, some lights being out, and probably in dire need of draining the hot tub as it had a funky smell. Communication was fast with the host however he did try and charge me for an early check in when the listing just says it’s available if no one stayed there the night before, after asking how much it was he said it was free so I don’t know if that was just a misunderstanding or not. Regardless of those things I would definitely stay there again!
We enjoyed our stay in San Diego. The location was centrally located for everything we wanted to do. Communication with the owner was smooth. The house is beautiful with plenty of space.
We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, very clean nicely decorated house. A huge selection of books available to read when relaxing. Beds were comfy, exceptional, remarkably clean bathrooms, the kitchen has everything you need. Great wifi. The host was very friendly and quick to respond. Our only suggestion would be to include written instructions on how to navigate the tv system in the living room.
We were in San Diego for one of our daughter’s wedding and the house was perfect! The location was ideal…close to Mission Bay, Little Italy and Costco. My husband and I were joined by some of our kids and our two grandkids and everything was perfect. There were plenty of seating areas inside and outside, lots of play space for the grandkids, and a well stocked kitchen. We especially enjoyed the second master bedroom upstairs away from kids and grandkids. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Disappointing experience
Unfortunately, we faced a pest control problem, rats and ants (have the evidence-photos). And cleanliness was below expectations, reviews, comments and advertising photos. Scott was always available and trying to help..location and views are nice. However, pests and poor cleanliness clouded the experience…they really meed to invest on this if they want to keep on renting the property for this amount . Was my first experience through VRBO and not satisfied
My nephew graduated from the Marines so we made the trip from Kentucky to CA to support him. The house was perfect for all of us. Great location. Everything was wonderful. Thank you.
Beautiful, spacious property in a great location to airport and attractions. Host was very communicative & available, if needed. We highly recommend this property, especially for families as it made it even more me.orable. Thanks!
The eight of us had plenty of room in this house, we were able to watch the fireworks at Sea World every night from the deck. It was nice to be able to all stay together. The hot tub was nice. The couches were all couches not sofa sleepers so that was a plus. Nice neighborhood. Beds were not very comfortable, would recommend some different mattresses.
We booked this home for a family wedding trip/SoCal vacation based on the central location and favorable reviews. When we got into the home we were even more blown away by how perfect an accommodation it was for our group from age 4 to 72. Indoor and outdoor areas offer so much room to spread out. The outdoor space is wonderful for relaxing in SD temps. The view is more spectacular than in the photos, with sunset skies and Sea World fireworks on the deck a fun way to end each night. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking. Basic soaps, starter paper products and ample linens provided (yay). Location is quiet, residential, convenient for getting on/off I-5. The host was wonderful to work with, and accommodated a few requests specific to our stay. One minor thing to note is the bedrooms have big windows/skylights and don't have blackout curtains, so bring an eye mask for sleeping if that's a concern. Overall the property feels like home, lovingly maintained as a tribute to a sweet Navy family. Definitely hope to book this home again for a future trip. It is, indeed, perfect for a family vacation. Thank you, Scott!
Our family went to San Diego to a wedding and had a fabulous time in this great house. Plenty of room for all, great outdoor spaces and well equipped kitchen.
Great house with a wonderful back yard and terrific view of Mission Bay. Very convenient access to I-5, so easy to get anywhere. Quiet neighborhood.
Only had two minor issues: (1) property manager falsely accused us of shooting off fireworks without calling me first; and (2) stairway window between 1st and 2nd floors broken open and unable to close. Otherwise a first rate experience. 4 stars.

This place is great for families. It’s close to everything as well. I would say it could use some updating. Some are pretty simple and can help dress up the place.
1. Bathrooms- maybe have matching towels and rugs. Having everything completely different colors and designs makes it look like it was just thrown together.
2. Bedding- all the beds need updated bedding. They look like they have been there for 10+ years. The sheets were great so keep those.
Long term updates- kitchen and carpets are out dated.
Overall still a great place to stay.
We stayed here 4 nights while vacationing for a family reunion and it was wonderful! Very nice home with many amenities, the hot tub and beautiful view out of the backyard were our favorites!
The location of this house is fantastic. The view is amazing and it's easy to get to downtown and beaches. I appreciated that there is enough seating in the house for the number of people it sleeps. We enjoyed spending time together in the common areas.
We used all of the bedrooms and every single person said the beds and pillows need to be replaced. They are kind of lumpy. The upstairs bedroom could use some shades that go up and down instead of curtains that go side to side since the windows open at the bottom. It wouldn't be an issue except the host doesn't want you to adjust the air conditioner temp, asking you to open the windows instead. When you open the windows you have to leave the curtains open to get any air flow and the room is very bright in the morning. We also felt guilty using the towels. The note about not using too many was less than welcoming.
All in all I would likely use this property again if I had a group large enough to need all of the space.

We are the Tuft Family. 1 Son, 4 Daughters. We have lived in and loved San Diego for many years. San Diego became our home after years of travelling the globe with our Navy Nurse Mother and Naval Aviator father when he was assigned as Operations Officer of NAS Miramar. San Diego is still home to 3 of the Tuft sisters and we love any chance to get the family together.
Why they chose this property
This home was the site of countless family parties and celebrations (even a few weddings) and is a cherished spot for us all. Kids and grandkids ran and played in the backyard and playhouse. There were lots of Sunday BBQ's and great times with the cousins at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We want to keep this home vibrant and in use - still making memories for other friends and families.
What makes this property unique
This is a quiet neighborhood with stunning views - The perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy San Diego. We hope you love it like we do. Handicap access to the 2nd floor via open air elevator.
