On top of a cliff overlooking the stunning bay of Candidasa, our villa offers a tropical garden, an infinity pool, and the attentive care of our amazing staff.

The living room flows seamlessly into the fully equipped kitchen, providing everything you need for a comfortable stay. If you prefer dining out, there are plenty of excellent restaurants and warungs just a short walk away, many of which are happy to deliver their delicious dishes right to your door.

From the living room and kitchen, step through the large sliding doors onto the terrace, where the infinity pool and sunbeds await. Wander through the lush garden filled with fragrant flowers and fruit trees, and cool off under the outdoor shower while taking in the stunning view of the bay. Thanks to the villa’s prime location, you can watch the fishing boats set out at dawn and enjoy breathtaking sunsets each evening.

Upstairs, you’ll find two spacious bedrooms, each with a luxurious ensuite bathroom, a private balcony, and air conditioning to ensure your comfort throughout your stay. Our staff is usually present from early morning until late afternoon. They are ready to assist you where necessary, and if at any time you wish complete privacy, please feel free to let them know.

Fantastic stay

There's not much to say that hasn't already been said, the property and in particular the views are amazing, everywhere you look there is something new to see. I really enjoyed my time at Sumah Hill and most of the time was spent relaxing by the pool reading and swimming. The staff were amazing and really looked after not just me but the villa was kept in immaculate condition for my whole stay. If you are lookg for a place to relax and recharge this is the place and i woould 100% stay here again. p.s yes, at the moment there is a little construction noise but it did not deter from my wonderful stay. Look forward to staying and seeing everyone again.

Paradise on Bali

It’s hard to describe how much we love Samuh Hill. It’s an awesome location, clean, spacious, and wonderful amenities. You certainly cannot beat the pool and view as well. That’s why we chose this place for our wedding. We planned it from afar and working with Hans and Wayan was a breeze. What made it special and definitely sets it apart is Wayan, Lenore, and Ktut! Their hospitality and generosity is amazing! I have such admiration for the whole team. They went above and beyond to make our stay and our wedding ceremony perfect. Down to the tiniest details. They are some of the kindest and friendliest people, we enjoyed getting to meet and know them as much as we did staying there. We were so happy that they were a part of our day, and that Samuh Hill will always be the place and the people we remember! We will definitely stay at Samuh Hill Residence again!

It’s about the view

The villa is very nice, but it is all about the view from the pool and the excellent attentive staff who are more than prepared to go out of there way to help.

Another amazing stay!

We had another amazing stay at this breathtaking property. Pool was stellar, living area spacious & bedrooms more than comfortable. As usual, the staff were great and always available if we needed something, be it extra pool towels or pizza delivery. The only thing that took away from a perfect 5-star stay was the construction noise next door, which was every day, from about 8am-5pm. We were not notified of this beforehand, which as returning guests, surprised us.

Just wonderful

This property is a paradise. The staff are full of love and ensure you are extremely well looked after. We had an amazing time. We dived (lovely to see some healthy corals teeming with life). We took boat trips, we visited temples and walked locally. All was arranged and facilitated by the fabulous team at Samuh Hill. The food was incredible, but we also ate out at local restaurants. This is everything a family holiday should be.

What a simply fantastic space, in a perfect location

WOW! Half way through my stay I had to drop the owner a quick note of appreciation. I am not sure that I would have changed anything about the property, everything was perfect about it. The team that look after it were simply the best we met in Bali. We had booked three villas, all at similar price points that didn’t get anywhere close to the quality and care that the team lavished on us, and also the way they kept the property. I won’t spoil your future stay by giving anything away, but if you are considering this place, or have short listed it, then go ahead and book it. You will not be disappointed. Stunning views that show another side of Bali

We had a brilliant stay. Hans the property owner was very helpful during the booking process and communicated great. We were collected straight from the airport and driven approximately 90 minutes to the property. Madam Wayan (make sure to get her WhatsApp) and her staff were brilliant also. Very kind and curious and helpful with our 7 month old baby. We were.not expecting them to stay at the property for so long, so we friendly said there's no need to wait around on us, you can go home no problem. That helped to make the experience a bit more private. You can order food and drink direct from Madam Wayan's restaurant nearby and it will be delivered to you quickly. This is then paid for at the end of the stay. Madam Wayan also arrange for us to visit a water temple and the virgin/white sand beach which allowed us to really enjoy the local area. We walked down from the property, to the strip of restaurants, but the area wasn't really for us. Plus we loved Madam Wayan's food. So we ordered from her most nights. Overall, a brilliant stay that if you can have the same experience as us, go for it!

A beautifully designed villa with perfect views! It has all the amenities you need like a huge scenic infinity pool, big fridge with ice maker, water dispenser, oven/microwave, mini-bar. The Manager Ibu Wayan was ever so helpful to help out with bookings for your day trips and doing your groceries. The staff were the best we’ve ever had and so genuinely helpful and sweet! We truly enjoyed ourselves here. Plan to make this our base for next dive trip in Bali! Thanks Hans for the stay!

Incredible views & warm hospitality

Stunning views from the moment you enter the property. The warmest of welcomes and hospitality from the team. Days spent chilling by the pool, wandering down to the beach and day excursions to local temples and sites. Super responsive and caring team from reservation throughout the whole stay. Couldn’t get enough of just chilling in the pool with the most incredible views of beaches, sea, jungle and mount agung.

Absolutely stunning , an amazing stay

Everything about our stay at this house was simply amazing. The property is wonderful, the gardens are lovely and the view is simply stunning. If there is such a thing as paradise on Earth this must be pretty close to it. Not only is the property simply stunning with everything you could possibly need from a luxury house, but the team at the villa who look after both the villa and you , are simply wonderful, lovely helpful people , for whom looking after you is everything , I cannot recommend this villa highly enough

Amazing villa with spectacular views

The booking was really easy with Hans who responded to any of our questions promptly. The villa was perfect for our stay. Superlatives are used too much these days but this villa was amazing. I can recommend without any reservations. The highlights are the spectacular views from anywhere in the villa (even the bath), views over the bay and Mount Agung. Charlie and staff made everything possible from ordering food, (breakfast/dinner etc), to arranging a driver for the day, to a traditional Bali boat trip to white sands beach. We also enjoyed our days spent in the Villa as the Bluetooth speaker was great. The villa was spotless and the polite and friendly staff looked after us all day. We walked easily into town from the villa to some very good restaurants but a lot of them do pick-up and drop off services. The photos look great on the website, but you need to go to see it for yourself. Marie

Just Perfect! Better then pictures show, but a picture can't show how great the service is!

This house is at a great location, with one of the best views on the island. The area is still quite authentic, so not too much tourists, but still has great restaurants and nice field trips can be made. But what is so great here is that the staff of 2+ is always available, and a car with driver is "on call" all the time and service from the restaurants for breakfast and any other need, this all give the service of a high class resort, with a very personal touch and still the privacy of your own house. So Great personal service and still full privacy. As Bali is still bit "jungle" we also had nice touch of some lovely Gekko's and some monkey fun on the next lot, but NO bugs and NO mosquito's so this was very positive! The house has all a 5* house would need, good music and TV system, great internet, and even on a warm day always a cool breeze from the see, and there is of course a great pool. As the house is on a small hill it would be a walk to the village, but with the car and driver always stand-by and the very friendly driver being there in just 5 min we did not walk much..... just relaxed! Great house, great support from the staff, nice part of Bali so only positives. Hope to be back sometime soon.

Paradise Found!

Photos of this house just don’t do it justice, this house is absolutely stunning and the views go on forever. We spent hours in the pool just enjoying the view. The house staff, Ketut and Lenor, came in each morning, they kept the house spotless and re-stocked the minibar with beer and water. Each day, they created flower arrangements in the bedrooms. They set up the lounge chairs and umbrellas took care of anything that we asked of them. Charlie, the concierge took care of everything for us. He arranged for a cook to come in each morning to make our breakfasts. Eggs cooked any style, French toast, pancakes, fresh blended fruit juice. Whatever we wanted, she whipped up for us. Charlie arranged for a couple of boat trips for us with captain Madi, and arranged a car and driver (Putu) for a couple of day trips to Ubud and to several temples. We also arranged for daily massages and Tini, our masseuse did a great job. Located in Candidasa, the house is well away from the tourist areas and this allowed us to experience island hospitality at its best. People in the neighborhood were very friendly and greeted us on our daily walks. Most of the restaurants in Candidasa were happy to send a car to pick us for dinner and return us to the house after we finished eating. Many of the restaurants will also deliver food to the house so we had many dinners on the patio while enjoying the views. After 10 days at Samuh Hill, I can’t think of one negative issue or problem that we encountered. We will be back!

Spacious, comfortable villa in an outsanding location.

We were a family group and all loved the villa. We had previously stayed in two hotels in Canggu and Ubud and this was definitely the highlight of our holiday. Charlie, Leonard and Ketut were incredibly helpful and friendly. Hiring scooters was great fun and the roads are relatively quiet so it isn't a frightening experience. We visited two local beaches, Blue Lagoon and Virgin/White Sand Beach. The former was dirty and the sea was washing in loads more rubbish so it was no fun snorkelling there. The latter we loved and went three times though there is very little beach at high tide. Made took us by boat once and also on a separate snorkelling trip which was great - masses of sea life. Local cafes and restaurants are generally very good indeed and very reasonably priced and there's even a very good wine shop in Candidasa. We would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending the villa to friends.

Stunning view

Had a lovely 5 day stay at this modern villa. Very helpful staff, well maintained and very clean. Has a stunning view overlooking the bay. Need a taxi to get into Candidasa, Charlie the villa manager gives you a phone to call him and then he arranges a taxi for you. He owns a restaurant and can organise evening meals for you at his restaurant or get a taxi for you to go elsewhere. The only negative thing to write is we had a monkey invasion!! We had never fed the local monkeys but one evening we were about to have a swim and came to the pool to find at least 20 monkeys had got there before us, is was funny initially to see them jumping in and playing around but in the end we called Charlie who organised for the staff to come and get rid of them, they handmade a mess all around and in the pool!!! The staff were excellent and quickly got it all sorted and cleaned which we appetites very much. If we were ever to return to Candidasa we would definitely return.

What a place!!

What a place to bring your family! Beautiful view, very tasty build accommodation (compliments to the architect) and a wonderful staff. We've enjoyed Bali here at its best! Going on holidays to any tropical destination is always a little guess when you bring an eight month old baby... but this is definitely a good place to do it. The villa is squeaky clean thanks to the very child friendly but correctly invisible staff. We've enjoyed the infinity pool, and so did our daughter: good place for a kid to learn how to swim (using the correct floaters of course). Massage, scooters, food, or anything you might want to acquire during your stay is just one phone call away: Charlie, the smiling manager, will arrange it for you in the blink of an eye. Thanks Hans and Tatiana for making our stay possible!!

Splendid!

Where shall I start? It was amazing! Lenor, Ketut and Charly the manager, were so sweet! They took care of everything! The transport with Putu, breakfast, every day fresh flowers in the room, a lady for a delicious massage, the laundry, arrange a boattrip to a beautiful beach, you name it they did it. But most of all, they were so sweet and nice! Than the villa, it was just perfect! The stunning view from every point in the villa! The rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, the hall, the garden with his beautiful flowers and infinitypool. Was I dreaming? No, it was for real! They even surprised me by celebrating my birthday with a fully decorated hall with fresh flowers, balloons, birthdaycake with candles and so on! We were here with our 3 little children from 6 years ,4 years, 10 months old baby, my husband and my mother. Enough space! There are several good restaurants in Candidasa, our favourite though was Joglo Samuh Hill Residence is definitely one of the best places in Bali to stay! Although I regret one thing....... That we didn't stay longer!!

Room with a view

This must be the villa with the best view of Bali, Candidasa for sure. But that's not the only thing making this villa a very special place to spend your holiday. We stayed here for a week and it was wonderful. Many thanks to Charly, the manager and Lenor and Ketut, the household staf. They made us feel very welcome, nothing was to much for them. Fresh flowers every day, taking care of our laundry, keeping the house and the pool clean, all to a very high standard. Charly was extremely helpful and kind, arranging anything from a simple taxidrive to a complete daytrip. The villa itself is exquisite. We liked the fact that it is built in a way to make the most of the natural flow of the air and cool breeze in the evening, due to the location on a cliff. We did not miss the AC downstairs at all, the fans were more than adequate, much better than having to close everything and sitting in an airconditioned environment. It is possible to keep the big sliding doors open all night because there are no mosquitos. We especially loved the pool and outdoor area all around the villa. Candidasa is a quiet place, with some bars and lots of restaurants to choose from. We liked Yoglo the best. Our sons went diving for the first time with Bubbles.It is a bit more expensive (Dutch management) but they take the safety precautions serious and are very experienced. Certainly the best option if it's one of your first dives! From Candidasa you can make a lot of trips, Charly will be happy to arrange this for you.

Wonderfull experience

We hereby would like to thank you for a wonderful experience in Bali. The house and the views from the house were beautiful and breath taking. Your staff were FANTASTIC. So friendly, helpful, willing, quick, wonderful, great, flexible, The were able to organise anything we needed, even on short notice, from massages to transport to our laundry being done, when we needed it done. It was all very cheap and well done. Unfortunately near the end me and my husband got ill, but the staff were there to help immediately. Babysitters were there within 15 minutes and a doctor was arranged to see us. They were so helpful and way beyond the call of duty. Charlie, you and your team are fantastic, THANK YOU. You made our stay even more special. Another thing I really liked were the personal touches. Messages made by flowers that were left all over the house, so sweet. The bed linen and towels were always fresh and clean. The house and the pool was really nice and clean. Thank you for making our stay in Bali great. Regards Sonja & Family ( the only reason we have not given the overal stay a 5 is because there was no proper airconditioning downstairs and it could get quite hot downstairs at times. If a proper airconditioning unit would be put in down stairs then we would give it a 5+)

Both houses were built by our father, Hans van Hemert. He was a producer, lyricist, and composer, known for his work with Luv’, Mouth & MacNeal, André Hazes, and many other artists.
