About this property

This gem of a townhouse is in the heart of the city: simply walk everywhere!

Our extremely well located and very spacious home is right in the center of Rotterdam's cultural and museum neighborhood.

We are just 2 blocks away from world class shopping and the Erasmus Medical Center. We are in view of the best cultural street in the Low Countries: the Witte de Wittstraat, filled with 45 cafes, restaurants, and art galleries.

The world famous Doelen concert hall with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra is within a stone's throw.

We have 2 guest rooms in the top floor apartment that sleep two each with very comfortable queen size beds. One room can also be made up as two single beds if requested. There is a large private bathroom with separate bath and shower and a skylight. We offer a mini kitchen with two refrigerators and a microwave. (If you wish you may have our delicious hot or cold breakfast made to order at a very friendly extra charge).
Our rooms are spacious, elegant and quiet. On the top floor you have your own balcony terrace overlooking an 95 year old sycamore tree that survived the bombing of the city in 1940 and is protected by the council of Rotterdam.

We do have the typical steep Dutch stairs that are everywhere in the Netherlands but you are rewarded with beautiful views over our private garden and on the front of the house the view of the City.

A stay with us includes a half hour complimentary walking tour of the neighborhood to orient yourself with recommendations for our favorite local places to eat and drink.

Be sure and visit the exciting Rotterdam harbor which is only a short walk away and zoom over the Maas river on a fast boat taxi.

Stay a couple of days or longer.
(We have a two night minimum stay.)
There is so much to discover and enjoy in vibrant Rotterdam!

Little gem in fab location

What a gem this place is! Perfectly positioned for easy access to pretty much everywhere in Rotterdam. Mary was a delight, so helpful and accommodating. Will definitely return if we come back Rotterdam.

Mary Sue's property

This let is the top floor of Mary Sue's house in the centre of town, a 15 min walk from central station. The rooms are a decent size and one has a balcony. There is a bathroom in between them with a good shower. One of the rooms looks over the side street. There can be some low level noise coming from the street if it's busy as this property is close to the local bars etc. Altogether very easy if you need a landing pad to get access to things around Rotterdam.

So central, yet very quiet

We stayed in Rotterdam for three nights at Rene & Mary's B&B in their "Zen Room". The B&B is in the best location, and this room overlooks a private garden, so while you are only 100 meters from all the action it is peaceful and quiet when you want to call it a night. There is a car park if you need it and the apartment is also only 10 mins walk to the central railway station. Mary is a lovely host and gave us really useful local hints about transport, restaurants and places to visit. Highly recommended!

Best location in Rotterdam.

There is no better location to stay at an AirB&B in Rotterdam than this location. In the center of everything, close to Blaak, the Markthal, Witte de Witstraat. The host is very pleasant and is checking everyday to make sure that your needs are covered.

Two wonderful rooms!!

Mary Sue and her friend Bettie were wonderful hosts. We ate at Mary Sue’s recommended bakery, restaurant, and toured her recommended places. It was a fabulous stay. There was some street noise in the rooms, which is likely just going to happen given that great area of town w hundreds of restaurants within a 10 min walk. Special thanks to Bettie for helping us upstairs w our American sized suitcases in the small stairwell. These two rooms were perfect for our three night stay to see Rotterdam. Thanks so much!

Tolle Lage

Alles in allem hat es uns sehr gut gefallen. Zwei große, helle Räume mit jeweils einem Doppelbett. In beiden Räumen gibt es aber große Oberlichter. Das bedeutet, dass sie sich nicht komplett verdunkeln lassen. Die Lage ist super. Kurze Wege zum Bahnhof, zur Metro und zur Ausgehmeile Witte de Witt Straat. Alles war sauber und ordentlich. Nette Wirtin.

Wonderful Stay!!

The pictures don't do justice of how amazing Mary's place is. The bedroom's are huge, both with tables, and one room has a super cute balcony. Walking distance to pretty much everything. Wifi is amazing for working. (better than any cafe we were in). There's a big tub for soaking along with a shower.

Nous avons sejournés chez Mary Sue pour le marathon de Rotterdam, Mary est une hôte exceptionnelle qui nous a donné les transports de l’aéroport d’amsterdam jusqu’à l’appartement, elle nous a également fait des pâtes le dimanche matin avant la course et nous a encouragé avant de partir et en rentrant. Dutch Getaway

The property was great. Mary was a very good host. Nice location only 15 minute walk to the train station and lots of restaurants nearby. We stayed on the third floor. Up two flights of narrow stairs so if you have mobility issues this might not be the best place for you.

Delightful Stay

We so enjoyed our time at Mary Sue's place! We had the top floor, including a terrace (which we loved). There was plenty of space and it was well equipped. We were able to do laundry with a dryer which was very helpful! Mary Sue was easy to work with and we enjoyed hearing her midwest USA accent!

I was born near the mighty Missouri
river in Sioux City, Iowa and grew up in South Dakota. When I was 24 years old I moved to Europe and settled in Rotterdam. I have been a psychotherapist and a professional storyteller and now I am an inn keeper like my grandparents were in Georgia in the US. Authentic hospitality is important to me and I love meeting people from all over the world and showing them my adopted city of Rotterdam. This city holds a special place in my heart as I have watched it rebuild itself after the bombing in WW2. The new architecture, the friendliness of the people and the great vibe are all wonderful reasons for a stay in Rotterdam.

This townhouse is located in the very heart of Rotterdam and you can walk everywhere. The back of the house is very quiet even though you are in the heart of things. The location makes everything so easy. You don't need a car or even the fabulous public transportation that is readily available.

What makes this property unique

For a girl from the prairie, being able to walk to the 6 world class museums in my neighbourhood, visit the 35 restaurants around the corner, and skip over to the river with the boat bus and ferry to the windmills, the concert hall and theatres all make this location so special.
